The home makes a wonderful four season retreat...very private...with spectacular and private water views!!

The Adirondack style log cottage sits on a large 60 acre parcel with an abundance of lake frontage in a very private wooded setting. Wood floors, rustic furniture and an abundance of windows add to the Northwoods feel of this unique property.

The home is located on the North East corner of the very famous and wild Chippewa Flowage. Paddling or boating adventures up the river are close and easy and a paddle boat ride around the bay is even easier. This section of the lake is truely a wilderness area...make a left off the dock and it is miles to the next home. All 17,000 acres of the Chippewa Flowage can be your boating playground!!

Winter is a very special time here...a true winter wonderland. The snow is a pristine white...the solitude at a level that forces you to unwind. Winter Escape

  • 4 of 5

This jewel of a cabin was perfect for our weekend get away. We had the wood stove going full time to offset the -20 degree days we experienced. I was envious of the folks able to visit in the summer and use the expansive screened in porch and hear the sounds of the outdoors rather than the furnace blowing. We were able to enjoy the beautiful views through the expansive windows and take quick brisk walks down the road and the small loop trail. The only downside, was that the sleeping loft is located up a steep flight of open stairs and were a bit intimidating to navigate for a woman with bad knees and her canine companion.

Went here to find solitude and nature and found it! The cabin was clean, comfy with great views of the lake and trees. Many places to hike, bike and explore nearby. Couldn’t have loved a place more!

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

We we're really impressed by everything about the cabin inside and out. Very peaceful, relaxing and private. We loved the natural elements inside such as the tree branches that were carved for the railings, hooks and door handles. The beds were made from logs and the chairs were made from twigs. The lakefront was a perfect setting for a campfire and we fished off the dock. The only thing we regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer. Our dog loved it too!

So relaxing

  • 5 of 5

What a secluded and beautiful place to stay on the Chippewa Flowage! We had a great time at this cabin and really didn't want to leave. This was a perfect vacation spot for us as we brought our boat and did a lot of fishing plus made a couple trips into Hayward when we needed. Everything was convenient! We also met Fred which was what we were hoping to do. Thank you for opening up your haven for rentals Fred! We will really try to get back.

Nice Place

  • 4 of 5

Nice little get away. If the weather was better and fish were biting, it would have been a wonderful time. The cabin is nice, very clean and inviting, great screened in porch and back deck. It is obvious the owner has put a lot of love into this cabin as can be see with the unique, little details throughout . However, on our first two nights, the neighbors were quite loud so we didn't even bother with a camp fire as we would have just spent the time listening to the loud voices and swearing. Disappointed that there were neighbors close enough to have an influence on our time since the description makes it sound as though this property is 100% secluded. We also found the beds to be creaky and uncomfortable so sleeping for us was poor. The property and scenery is gorgeous with wildlife coming literally right up to the door - as I was surprised by a deer early one morning having hostas for breakfast. Classic Wisconsin Northwoods experience.

Owner's Response: We are sorry the neighbors were loud....I will speak with them about their guests. Our closest neighbor is a 1000 feet away...but sound carries easily over water. For lake property this cabin is very secluded....but not soundproof to other homes on the bay. Beds are handmade log beds....I imagine they do creak a bit. We are sorry this guest did not have a 5 star experience..,,most our guests do and it is what we strive for.
