This beach house is simple and charming. The secluded beach is just a few steps off the porch, and is a magnificent 1/2 mile long beach where you usually see no-one other than your party. The island of San Salvador has numerous gorgeous beaches (East Beach, Sandy Point, Columbus Landings Beach) and the locals can take you for world-class bone fishing or reef fishing. You can snorkel forever, or go scuba diving with Riding Rock. This friendly, laid-back island is known for it's welcoming locals. Once you have visited San Salvador, you will be welcomed "back home" the next time you come! Repeat vacationers are the standard to this little-known treasure. You will love this beach house as the base of operations for your vacation.

Bill & Lori Northrup have been enjoying the island of San Salvador in the Bahamas as our "favorite place in the world" since 1990. We'd love to tell you more about it if you are interested!
Lori Northrup purchased this house in 1997
Once you have experienced the endless deserted beaches, the magnificent clear aqua waters, and the friendly locals, you will understand why we bought this vacation beach house!
Private, secluded beaches.... fantastic snorkeling ... some of the best bone fishing in the world ... jet ski around the entire island of San Salvador ... visit our private island just a few hundred yards off the shore of San Salvador ... experience San Salvador, and you will be coming back again and again.
We booked this amazing placed house to celebrate our weeding and one more house to receive all our family.
Coming direct flight from Paris and Us everything was perfect.
Since the arrival to the departure we received an amazing assistance by the manager of the house Jackson Everette always available and helpful.
The house is right to an amazing beach. We feel very comfortable with all facilities and furnitures.
We are lucky thanks to our relationship in the island with the charming locals and club med we had everything to celebrate our weeding like a real star with all our family and friends in this paradise. We feel alone and very secured.

We fall in love in this island and get maried here.
Thank you mr Northrup your house is just charming and full of stories.
Booking was very easy and the owner provides very good information on traveling to San Salvador. Communication was very good throughout the entire process. You definitely want the truck (I wasn't aware it was an option, but it was waiting at the airport for me gassed and ready to go and the trip wouldn't have been the same without it). The house is wonderful and well equipped. The snorkel equipment and bikes are in good shape. I was able to bike the full distance around the island one morning, so the bike held up well (better than me). Good snorkeling right off the beach towards the rocks on the right (Grouper and Squirrelfish in abundance). Good snorkeling 5 minutes down the road at Grotto Beach (lots of parrotfish). Great snorkeling 10 minutes up the road at Columbus Landing (still not so thrilled about being stalked by a 4' barracuda, but he played nice). Wonderful sunsets. Very secluded. Only 2 other houses on the beach that I saw and we never had another person on the beach with us. Watch the sunset, make dinner, have a drink and lay in the hammock listening to the Jimmy Buffet cd's and the surf. Very nice. For the duration of the trip there was only 1 time there was a person other than myself and my wife on any of the beaches we visited (6). Dinner at Riding Rock was remarkable, I went in expecting pub food and ended up having a 4 star dinner with pineapple cheesecake to finish it off. Scuba is also available at Riding Rock. Dinner at the Paradis was a bit less formal, but very good as well. Large portions, good food and a lower cost, it also has wireless access and accepts credit cards (which is uncommon around the island). I honestly can't say enough about the setup. This island was by far the best place I have ever visited and I'm already looking for an excuse to go back. I would recommend 2 weeks next time as there is plenty to see and do and it's good to have a little more time in the middle to just relax. Thank you again, it was wonderful.
My husband and I are private pilots and love flying into San Salvador from Florida. (350 nautical miles off of Ft. Pierce FL) The blue water and sandy beaches on San Salvador are some of the best in the world. If you want to relax this is the place. If you want some of the best scuba diving in the Bahamas this is the place. We have seen Hammerhead sharks at 110 feet! Or just enjoy the snorkeling right off of the beach. It is a super romantic getaway or family vacation. There are plenty of things to do, including just soaking up the sun.
We have had the opportunity to stay here several times, and the experience is always incredible. Whether we are vacationing for the peaceful seclusion and beautiful water, or the island adventures and up-beat gathering of friends and family, this is the place to do it.
The owners take great care in keeping the property and home in the cleanest condition. The house is well appointed with many soft beds, delightful music, and fine appliances to cook any kind of meal. It is convenient to get to from the mainland, very safe, and we have never met happier, more welcoming people than you will find on the island.
We treasure our time there, and recommend this amazing and special place to any of our friends.
Great island tour available to see the beach where Christopher Columbus first made landfall in the New World, a unique lighthouse, and caves. Walk or bike all over the quaint island. Visit Club Med for an elegant buffet and an evening performance if you feel like something fancy. Plus we have a private caterer who will fix you amazing meals.
