Great Beach House with only good surprises!

This was the second year our family enjoyed this wonderful house that sits on a cul-de-sac street approximately 75 yards from the path to the beach. It is furnished as if you were living there with lots of beach toys, chairs, towels, umbrellas, and a variety of other items you might normally have to bring with you. The house has a Wi-Fi connection, and even a computer with printer if you need it. There are several TVs scattered around the house and a stereo in the main living area which is nice. There is a fenced-in backyard, and a huge gas grill on the back deck. In fact, there are Decks around about 70% of the house. There is room for four cars in the covered garage (2 on each side / end-to-end). There is an extra Frig in the Garage and an outside shower for anyone that may appeal to. Both times we have stayed here, the house has been meticulously maintained and we have little if any criticism about the rental property as a whole. From the house, it is about a three-mile drive into Isle of Palms, about a 7 mile drive to Mount Pleasant, and probably in 18 to 20 mile drive into Charleston. The owner lives in the home during the winter months and rents it during the summer. Each year, the rental has been coordinated with, Alex, the owner's son - who is very responsive and easy to work with. It's a 400 mile drive from our home in Knoxville, TN - which is why we try to rent the home for a 2-week period each year. This is our fourth year of having a family beach vacation in Isle of Palms, and we intend to rent this same home again in 2014 (for the third time) - assuming there is not a scheduling problem. Thanks to Alex for helping us have a great time with some great memories.

glorious beach house on 43rd street

For a 'big' birthday, my husband rented this beach house for me to stay in for a MONTH. During that time he and my 2 daughters came out on weekends, as did some family members from out of town. It was the BEST gift ever. The house is fabulously located just a block from the beach, easy access, ammenities were plentiful, we needed little to nothing. Location on IOP also a plus, beach not crowded but close enough to Marina and Wild Dunes. Amazingly responsive homeowners made sure our stay was perfect in every way. Outdoor shower a BIG PLUS. Fenced yard another plus and the view is great. House is very clean and well kept. Bedrooms, kitchen, living area all lovely! IOP is a great place to vacation and you cannot go wrong with this house. One note of caution, as with any house within close proximity to the beach stairs are a fact of life, can't avoid it. We would definitely rent here again.

Look no further! Paradise Found

For those of you who have spent hours and hours trolling the Home Away website for a place to stay on IOP, STOP - this is the place. We recently stayed for one week in this fabulous just-off-the-beach house. It's about a 75 yard walk from the front door to your beach chair in the surf! Of course, this is perfect for those with little ones in tow or an eldery parent as was our case. Alex, a dream to work with, provides boogie boards, bikes, chairs, umbrellas, a cooler and a wagon for toting it all to the beach. There is also a kayak which my husband enjoyed on a daily basis. The house is very clean with plenty of amenities for the stay. We grilled out several nights and ate in town at Acme Cantina and Long Island Grill - two of our favorites. Enjoy and feel confident in renting this house for your vacation!

Perfect beach-bound vacation!

2 families of 4, 7 great days! This house was the perfect fit for 4 children and 4 adults--and came with everything to make our stay easy and fun! Spacious inside and great decks--including one perfect for eating 'al fresco' on. The beach by the house is perfect--not crowded and made a great tidal pool for the small kids to play in! Wagon was a plus to haul chairs and cooler beach-side. Bikes made for a great ride along the beach one morning! We will be back!

Great House & Location, and only GOOD Surprises...

The house and location were great. Everything was clean and working properly and the owner has provided many of the things that you'd like to have on a beach trip - but you don't get around to taking. For Example, there were Beach Chairs, a wagon to move things back and forth, a couple of wave boards, beach towels, and even three bikes - if you're in the mood to go on a ride. Since no house is perfect... the only shortcoming is the fact that there are only 2 bathrooms - one of which is within the Master Bedroom Suite upstairs. But other than that... everything was fine. The house is located on a cul-de-sac which doesn't allow street parking - which minimizes vistors to the beach area. And the end of the driveway is approxmiately 200 - 250 feet to the entrance to the beach.

The owner's son, Alex, coordinated the rental of the house and we have no complaints about anything - which is amazing whenever you have 7 people occuping a house - all with different views on what should or shouldn't be done. The fact that the owner has left many little things in the house that they're probably using when they live there is nice - because you feel like you're at home and don't have to go out and purchase something that you would normally wouldn't take to the the beach. The location is about 3 miles from the center of Isle of Palms and about 6 miles from a large assortments of other stores like Target, Piggly Wiggly, etc.

Thanks for a great vacation and we plan to rent the house again 2013 - which speaks volumes about our experience.

IOP Gem!

We stayed in this home for one month and had an amazing time. We arrived to a wonderful gift basket the owner left with snacks, sunscreen, wine, etc - so thoughtful! The location is PERFECT - a mere 50 yards from the ocean with no need to cross any busy roads, important for us since we had 2 small children. The house is a great beach house with decks almost all the way around and a top-notch grill for cooking out. Screened in porch was great for reading at night while listening to the ocean. Interior is spacious, open and bright - sometimes open design means it can be loud, but we have small kids who are always loud :-). MANY amenities made our stay so much easier: lots of beach chairs & umbrellas & towels, wagon, 4 bikes, beach toys, sea kayak, fridge in garage, outdoor shower w/ hot water (we used A LOT), coolers and a great fenced in backyard for the kids to safely play. We would definitely stay here again. This is a real gem!
