About Tony or Ron

I am a 30 year retired public school teacher living on the island with my three rescue dogs. I purchased my primary home ten years ago and have been in love with the island ever since, thus prompting me to purchase Cottage on 14th street. The property owner/manager is a Galveston Certified Tourism Ambassador and can help you with many historical facts and questions and point of interest on the island.

Tony or Ron purchased this house in 2006

Why Tony or Ron chose Galveston

The opportunity to restore this historic cottage so that I could share with others the same feeling I wake up to every day.

What makes this house unique

Walks on the beach, the great weather, historical land marks great events, shopping and most of all the friendly islanders.

Great little house

  • 5 of 5

Loved my New Year's Eve weekend stay in this great little house. The location was perfect for us. The house is well appointed, and while I did not cook while there, we did snack and mix drinks, and I found everything I needed in the kitchen, even a wine fridge. The Keurig made my day since that is what I'm used to at home. I brought my own coffee but there was some there too.

A bit of helpful advice for the ladies; bring a make up mirror with you! The best place to get ready was at the kitchen table, lighting, etc, but I didn't have one. With the one bathroom you can't be hogging the bathroom mirror if sharing the house with other women. ;-)

Great place to stay for a small group or a couple. Can't wait to return.

Perfect holiday getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I have family in Galveston and I stayed here over Christmas. I am super impressed with how well the kitchen is stocked. We were able to have a wonderful Christmas dinner here and then a nice walk to the beach to finish off the day. I will definitely be staying here again!

Cute Cottage, Great Host, Absolutely Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at the 14th street Cottage. The Cottage is cute, clean and the perfect size for a romantic getaway or even a little family gathering. I loved sitting on the front porch in the morning drinking my tea, watching the American flag in the wind and listening to the Gulf. It was perfect! Ron met us at the house and was extremely helpful, even finding someone that could guy groceries for us since we were on motorcycles and had no way to carry them. We would stay in this house next year, but due to need a bigger house, Ron was able to recommend a different house for us, which we did end up renting.

Beautiful Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Ron met us at the cottage and gave us a personal walk through. The cottage is an 1875 cottage with just the right mix of period charm and modern conveniences. We absolutely loved our stay. We had everything we needed ... and then some. Our two Shih Tzus loved the back deck and yard, and it was very secure for them. The kitchen was phenomenal. We cooked breakfast and dinner both days and had everything we could possibly ask for as far a dishes, pots and pans, glassware....it was stocked like my own kitchen at home...a full shelf of spices included!

The cottage is about 5 blocks from the Seawall ---a perfect walk distance for our dogs, and about a block and a half from Broadway - the main street running through town.

We will definitely be back next time we are in Galveston!

This was definitely a home away from home. We felt right at home.

  • 5 of 5

We had a family of 6 here at the property, and we were all comfortable. Ron and Tony had everything there that you can possibly think of. They even had things for the beach. I will definitely be staying here again the next time we come to Galveston. Thumbs all the way up to The Cottage on 14th.
