Nestled in the residential Parioli-Salario district, (Gaetano's) Nino's house is located in the heart of Rome, just a few steps away from the tranquility of Villa Borghese, one of the largest landscaped gardens in Rome, and from Via Veneto, probably the most famous, elegant and trendy street in Rome.
On the first floor of a beautiful historic building at via Basento 55, a quiet and elegant street, the apartment overlooks the blooming inner courtyard, and thanks to the double-glazed windows, it is a perfect choice for those seeking a relaxing holiday in The Eternal City, without giving up a central location.
Recently renovated, Nino’s House is divided into 2 levels: on the lower level, a large and bright living area furnished with a comfortable sofa bed (perfect for 1 adult or for 2 children), a dining table for 4 people, and a TV.
A beautiful staircase leads to the large mezzanine level which has a double bed and a spacious wardrobe. A personal computer is available for our guests. Both the living and the sleeping area are enlightened by 2 large windows.
A modern kitchen, fully equipped with oven, microwave, washing machine, etc. and bathroom with shower complete this spotless apartment in Rome.
Nino’s House is tastefully furnished with both tiled and parquetry floor, and it is absolutely perfect for a couple looking for a romantic week-end in Rome or for a small family: it can sleep up to 3/4 people.
Fully equipped with heating and air conditioning, WiFi Internet connection, personal computer, direct dial telephone (calls throughout Italy included in price), hair dryer, iron and ironing board and full size fridge.
The area around the apartment is full of many typical Italian restaurants, a department store, as well as numerous shops.

Charming, well equipped, great location.
We loved our time in Nino's apartment! Nino is an incredible host....he took the time to sit down with us and go over a map, pointing out all the must-see sights and best local restaurants (all walking distance and outstanding!) He then walked the neighborhood with us and showed us where to get bus and tram tickets, where the closest bus and tram stops are, local market. etc. He was always available, ordered a car to get us to and from the airport, and made everything so much easier. He loves Rome and is a wonderful source of information as well as a charming host. We will definitely go back someday and recommend Nino to all our friends.
Live like a citizen of Rome in a beautiful studio close to the sights but away from the crowds
This was our second visit to Gaetano's studio, located on a quiet street a 10 minute walk from the Borghese Gardens. Gaetano, who lives adjacent to the apartment, greeted us like old friends. We found that we had joined a large group of travellers who have returned again and again to spend their Roman stay in his studio.
There are many reasons for this, starting with Gaetano's friendship and helpfulness. Having spent his life in the neighbourhood, he knows every shop and restaurant (and most of the staff), as well as points of interest not found in most travel books (such as the entrance to a Roman-era catacomb a 5 - minute walk from the studio). He cheerfully takes you on a walking tour after you settle in to introduce you to neighbourhood and to make you feel at home.
To help the tourist, whether a first-time visitor or someone returning to experience more of what Rome has to offer, Gaetano has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the bus and metro lines, and how to maximize your time between sightseeing, shopping, dining and the 'dolce vita'.
If you want to take advantage of the produce available in the daily market, or the pasta, meat, fish or bread in the local shops, the studio boasts a fully-equipped kitchen so that you can prepare your own meal to enjoy with the fine bottle of wine that Gaetano leaves as a gift on your arrival.
No matter how you spend your Roman holiday, Nino's house makes the perfect home away from home.
Dearest friend, thank you so much for the beautiful words; you know this is my job And I try to do it my best. Anyway you were and will be for sure among the best guests I ever had. I know you are coming again in September. I am longing for our next meetin.
As good as it gets!
If you're lucky enough to have found Nino's house here on VRBO ... don't even read the rest of my review - just book it NOW! The location is perfect in a super safe and well-off neighborhood, but it only takes about 15 minutes on the bus to hit all of the tourist sites. The building is on a small side-street meaning no noise or traffic and therefor a very quiet and restful night's sleep. The photos in the listing are very accurate with no surprises at all. There is a well-stocked kitchen and a nice size bathroom for European standards. The bed was comfortable and the sheets and blanket were all very nice and crisp and clean. Wi-Fi and heat/hot water were also perfect. Best of all is Gaetano (Nino) - a warm, welcoming, informative guy who lives right next door and is eager and more than happy to help with any questions or advice you might need. This is the epitome of the good VRBO/AirBnB experience and I consider myself lucky to have found and stayed here for an entire week!
Matt, thank you so much for your reviews, it’s really one of the best I ever revived. Anyway you were a perfect guest: nice, polite, quite, clean. I sincerely hope you’ll come back. All the best for you
Great location, clean and comfortable
Nino was very helpful making sure we knew how to get around and what sites to see. Also made restaurant reservations for us as well as set up our travel to and from the airport!
Hi Teresa, thanks for the nice words. You too have been very good guests, which I hope to have in my apartment again
More than expected
The owner, Nino, is more than welcoming. He makes sure that you will enjoy your stay.
The apartment is beautiful, located in a very nice area, comfortable and spotless. It is surrounded by very good restaurants, recommended by Nino.
Nino: We loved the place and we will recommend it, without hesitation, to our friends who would happen to travel your way. Grazie mille, Diane and Francois xx
Nino was a very gracious host full of passion and love for his birth place.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Nino's place. He provided us with all the information we needed to get around Rome and be on time for our tours. It was the perfect place to come back to after a long day of sightseeing. Not too far away from all the sites via the bus or the tram. We were even able to walk to the Colosseum from there. Thanks Nino for all your help.
