Nestled in the residential Parioli-Salario district, (Gaetano's) Nino's house is located in the heart of Rome, just a few steps away from the tranquility of Villa Borghese, one of the largest landscaped gardens in Rome, and from Via Veneto, probably the most famous, elegant and trendy street in Rome.

On the first floor of a beautiful historic building at via Basento 55, a quiet and elegant street, the apartment overlooks the blooming inner courtyard, and thanks to the double-glazed windows, it is a perfect choice for those seeking a relaxing holiday in The Eternal City, without giving up a central location.

Recently renovated, Nino’s House is divided into 2 levels: on the lower level, a large and bright living area furnished with a comfortable sofa bed (perfect for 1 adult or for 2 children), a dining table for 4 people, and a TV.

A beautiful staircase leads to the large mezzanine level which has a double bed and a spacious wardrobe. A personal computer is available for our guests. Both the living and the sleeping area are enlightened by 2 large windows.

A modern kitchen, fully equipped with oven, microwave, washing machine, etc. and bathroom with shower complete this spotless apartment in Rome.

Nino’s House is tastefully furnished with both tiled and parquetry floor, and it is absolutely perfect for a couple looking for a romantic week-end in Rome or for a small family: it can sleep up to 3/4 people.

Fully equipped with heating and air conditioning, WiFi Internet connection, personal computer, direct dial telephone (calls throughout Italy included in price), hair dryer, iron and ironing board and full size fridge.

The area around the apartment is full of many typical Italian restaurants, a department store, as well as numerous shops.

Our first impression of this apartment was "WOW"!Yes it is cozy with all comforts of home. 5 stars!

  • 5 of 5

The owner, Gino was very gracious & hospitable. Gave us tour of apartment, kitchen appliances, etc. Suggested many land marks to see & places to eat. Walked us to neighborhood grocery store. Gave us information on buses to take to see Coliseum, Vatican or anywhere in Rome. He was very helpful. His English was superb compared to our limited Italian. I highly recommend this beautiful apartment, whether 5 days or longer, no regrets. This neighborhood was beautiful! Gloria & Ben

Nino's House

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay in Rome. Nino is an amazing host. He arranged a driver for us from the airport. He met us when we arrived and gave a thorough tour of the apartment. After that he even took us around the neighborhood to show us some local restaurants, and even how to use the bus and tram system. The Apt, was very clean and even included a small gift bag from Nino. He was always available when we needed him. When it was time to leave he even called us a taxi for the train station.

The stay would not have been the same without Nino and his humor & caring. We enjoyed multiple conversations. He loves his Roma, so be forewarned if you are only staying 3 days. "You can't see my city in 3 days"!! Haha.

Nino was very willing to share interesting facts about his city. We learned a lot from him. He tried to keep conversations minimal because his daughter says he talks too much to his guests. We enjoyed the conversations so much and could have sat with him for hours.

If we are blessed to return back to Rome we will definitely request a stay in Nino's house.

Thank you Nino for being such a wonderful man.

PS - Jane's Dad also says you look like him.

Tony & Jane.

Owner's Response: Jane & Tony Carnivores, lots of thanks for the beautiful words. You have really been very nice guests. I especially liked your sense of humor and I'm not sorry to look like Jane's father (of course, the yung version ahahaha). I really hope you will come back to Rome. 3 days are definitely few to be admired in all its splendor. Give me an affectionate embrace to my "impersonator". Take care. Nino

A perfect place to stay while enjoying your visit to Rome

  • 5 of 5

For our first visit to Rome, my wife and I wanted to stay in a quintessentially Roman studio in a location that, while accessible to the points of interest, was not itself a tourist area. This apartment was the perfect answer.

Located in a magnificent building in the IV Quartiere, it is within walking distance of the Villa Borghese, with its extensive gardens and not-to-be-missed museum, the Spanish steps, and the Quartiere Coppede, an area of beautiful architecture.

The studio itself is ideal for a single traveller or couple. A large sitting/dining area, brightly lit with 2 metre high windows, looks out to a courtyard with flowers and hibiscus trees. The fully-appointed kitchen allowed us to prepare anything from a cup of espresso coffee to a full evening meal, and the loft bedroom was equipped with ample closet space and a very comfortable bed.

Our host Nino has spent his life in the Quartiere, and he showed his encyclopaedic knowledge of his city as he took us on a walking tour of the neighbourhood on our arrival, pointing out the bus and metro stops, street market, restaurants, bank machines, and various shops where we would find the best that Rome has to offer, greeting every second passerby and shopkeeper by name.

His attention to our questions and needs was given with a smile and another interesting anecdote.

He was the perfect host.

Owner's Response: Alister and her sweetest wife stayed with me for 5 days from September 10th. These are two really special people: nice, quiet, clean and humanly rich. Our relationship was very beautiful; we shared lunches and city tours. I really hope they will come back to my apartment. Alister, thank you for choosing my apartment Gaetano Piletti

Perfect Quiet Safe Area of Rome by Museo Borghese

  • 5 of 5

I had a wonderful time while I was in Rome and much of it was due to Nino's House. This is a two level apartment with a full kitchen, bath with stand up shower, king sized bed, washing machine and many other little extras.

Nino is the homeowner and he is a lovely retired Italian economics teacher who has lived in Rome his whole life. We had a great chat upon my arrival where he explained his background and gave me all kinds of information about what to see, when to make reservations, where to eat, where to shop for groceries, which bus to take to get to which museum and lots of other vital info. Nino lives next door to the apartment and was available anytime to answer questions or provide help with the apartment.

The bed was huge and quite firm and comfortable. There were plenty of pillows and linens. The one thing I would mention is that He celliling in the bedroom area is a little low. If you are more than six feet tall, this could be an issue. I ducked down and got used to it.

The bathroom was very clean and the shower worked perfectly well.

The kitchen had a four burner stove and a full fridge and freezer. There were also pots and pans and dishes and other cooking utensils.

The washer worked very well. There is no dryer but there is a drying rack to hang the wet clothes on. This actually worked very well and helped me stay on top of my laundry.

The rest of the apartment was bright and very nice. I didn't watch much tv at all but there was a flat screen tv in the living room area.

Overall this was a great apartment that provided a great value. I loved knowing that I had a safe place to stay after a night out in Roma.

Recommendations from me:

Dinner - Bernini Ristorante

Essenza Wine Bar

Emma Ristorante

Gelato - Gelato di San Crispino

Say hi to Nino for me. He was a great and friendly person.

The apartment is really cozy and it is quiet (no traffic noise). There's everything you could need and still something more. The bed is excellent and so is the shower. It is very helpful to have an own washing machine, so you don't have to bring along too many clothes.

The owner, Nino, was gracious and hospitable, very helpful and, still, respected our privacy. Not only did he give us many advices as to where to go shopping or which restaurant could fit for which occasion, he even figured out which trains would circulate despite the strike and called a cab for us. Also, he showed us some really nice places.

We felt we left as friends. Looking forward to come again!
