Thank you for your inquiry on my vacation rental (338791).

Please check the calendar for availability. If you have questions or would like to reserve the property, please call or email me.

The address is 5837 w Pleasant Hill Rd., Freesoil, Mi 49411. It is has about 120 feet of Lake frontage and is deep, approximately 3 acres. There is a 3 foot steel breakwall along the sandy bottom shore.

It is on 5000 acre Hamlin Lake, which backs up to Lake Michigan. There are fabulous sand dunes, Ludington State Park, The Lake Michigan Recreation Area, Nordhouse Wilderness Area and Manistee National Forest. A boat is highly recommended, to explore the Lake and Dunes.

So, you can take a boat to the dunes on the Hamlin Lake side, walk the lake side trails which lead to Lake Michigan, drive 10 minutes through the national forest to Lake Michigan or from the drive way about a 3 mile walk through state trails to Lake Michigan.

You can also drive to Ludington 20 minutes to Lake Michigan, or Manistee, the same distance.

The property is usually rented Saturday to Saturday, only. It includes the whole property. The cost is $3750 per week plus tax with a $250 security deposit refunded by mail the day after departure. Sales tax is 6% . So the total $3975 plus security deposit. The weekend rate is $700 per night, weekday rate $600 per night. There is a 20 foot, 2015, Sweetwater pontoon available for rent for $1400 per week, or $275 per day, plus 6% tax. With that , there is a $250 cash dep. for the boat, to be returned if the gas has been replaced and there is no damage and a credit card required. 50 % down is required for deposit. My mailing address is 101 Joliet St Unit 900, Dyer Indiana 46311.

The rooms are as follows., The main house is a quad level. The upper has 3 bedrooms, and 2 baths (one with tub and shower, one with shower). The bedrooms are 1. king, 2.queen,3.twin and full.

The lower has 4 bedrooms, same bath arrangement. 1. twin bunks and a twin, 2. 2 full, 3.2 full, 4. full and twin bunks.

Each cottage has bath with shower and 2 bedrooms, 1. queen 2. 2 twins. The cottages are 'retro' old fishing cottages. One shares a deck with the main house, the other is down the hill about 20 feet.

The main house upper is the most modern and the downstairs is more like a basement . They both have fireplaces in the family room and kitchens, as well as kitchenettes in the cottages with living areas .

There is a firepit area. No air conditioning. We are located on the breezy side of the lake, with lots of trees and crosswinds.

We ask that the garbage be taken to the dumpster and the houses left in clean and neat condition.

You are welcome to visit anytime or send someone who lives near to check out the places. Just let me know via phone call ahead of time.

This place is amazing, it huge and sleeps so many people that I lost count. We spent a long weekend and I can honestly say I didn't want to leave. There is so much to do which includes hiking, fishing, and boating. This is hiking distance to Lake Michigan which is so clear compared to our part of the lake which is closer to factories. This cottage has floor to ceiling windows, a huge kitchen and lots of bathrooms. Plus the property has two smaller cottages that sleeps 4 each with its own kitchen and baths. You won't go wrong renting this place for a week or weekend.

Amazing Weekend Getaway.

  • 5 of 5

We visited here for a long weekend with friends and I can't say enough great things about this place. The main home is incredibly spacious. The view from the kitchen through the floor to ceiling windows out to the lake is breathtaking. We hiked the dunes and spent several hours each day hanging out in one of the many little coves around the lake. Most of the rooms have two full size beds or bunk beds giving plenty of sleeping space for a large crowd. The kitchen is huge and it overlooks a cozy family room. We ate most meals out on the deck which had plenty of room for all of us. The two separate smaller cabins were a huge bonus. The owners are clearly working on upgrading the property, but it still has that "cabin on the lake" feel to it. I can't wait to go back!

Fun with Friends Rental Getaway

  • 5 of 5

I spent a long weekend with friends at the rental cabin. The cabin was nicely furnished and had abundant sleeping room for all parties as well as bathrooms. We utilized the numerous grills on the large porch area that faces the lake. We had an absolute blast hiking in the forest, climbing the dunes and adventure seeking on the hiking trails. The town was not to far to travel to to enjoy some food shopping as well as a few cocktails. It was too cool to enjoy the pontoon boat that weekend however the next trip up I would love to do so.

Amazing Vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

Our family completely loved this rental, from the spacious family room to the gorgeous views, there is so much to enjoy. We enjoyed the hiking that starts right out the front door, the free access to canoes and row boat that were on site, not to mention a brand new Pontoon that we used to enjoy the lake. Some of the other great amenities are the dual kitchens and many bath rooms. Our kids especially liked the two additional cottages that also have kitchens and showers. The huge fire pit was a bonus every night as we enjoyed the stars and beautiful lake. This is a must stay for large groups.

Family Vacation & would NOT return

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

We stayed at this property for a week for a family vacation. I will admit there was plenty of room for all 24 of us but the property is very poorly maintained. There are weeds everywhere. Grass is not maintained at all. The downstairs of the main house smelt so bad. It was a musty, cat pee smell. Everything felt damp since there was no air. As far as it being on the breezy side of the lake that is not true!!! There was never a breeze and when it is 90 and humid the house is HOT!! There are NO windows in the bedrooms downstairs so it is even worse. They did have fans, however they are the old box fans that are not the best when you have little kids around. We had 2 box fans, a standing fan (that we brought with) and a ceiling fan going 24/7 and it was still miserable. There are NO ceiling fans in any of the living areas. There were a lot of cobwebs and spiders and the windows don't look like they were ever cleaned. When you walked in the cabin that was next to the main house it felt like you were walking in a fun house. Both cabins were very out dated and needed a lot of work. The showers are so small not sure how anyone can move in them. Ice maker did not work. Screen door for the patio door was broken so we had to keep the door closed to keep the bugs out. The main entrance to the house and the door going to the deck did not have screen doors so those also had to stay closed. Would have been nice to open the doors to get some air flow in the main house. Hammocks were torn and had big holes in them so it was hard to sit in them. FYI long dirt road to get to the house and not close to anything. It was a 30 minute drive to town. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
