About the Property
Villa, 7 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 5 Baths, (Sleeps 9-10)
Beautiful countryside villa in the heart of Italy.
Situated in the town of Belmonte Castello on the outskirts of the city of Atina, Villa Angelucci offers you a perfect restful oasis in the middle of Rome and Naples. You are an hour south of Rome and an hour north of the Amalfi Coast. With the Appenine Mountains right in front of you, the combination of mountain air and the coastal breeze from the south offers a well deserved escape and rest for the weary traveler at a resort like villa fit for an emperor. Emperor Marcus Aurelius actually owned a villa in the Atina area and would come here during the summer months to rest from his busy life in Rome.
Surrounded by olive trees and a wealth of fauna and flora, Villa Angelucci is very comfortable and sleeps 8-10 people very comfortably. The amenities include a gourmet kitchen and a spectacular pool, multiple terraces and tons of shade. Villa Angelucci is approximately 3,800 square feet and is comprised of three stories. Other amenities include an indoor gym. My uncle Domenico Angelucci and aunt Maria Angelucci are now retired and have really cultivated an amazing villa for you to enjoy. They designed and built Villa Angelucci themselves and have been living on the property for 25 years! They make their own olive oil and have a few chickens for fresh eggs, grow fresh tomatoes and a fresh vegetable and herb garden, a few peacocks and pigs. My aunt Maria makes her own sausages and prosciutto. My aunt Maria is an amazing cook and cooking lessons are available. Her specialty is spaghetti alle vongole (spaghetti with clams)which is absolutely the best I have ever had!
Granted, Venice and Florence and Rome are amazing cities. However, in my personal experience, the heart of Italy is truly found in the smaller cities, where a lot of the pretension of the more touristy cities is replaced by spontaneity and warmth only found in the piccolo paesi. Atina is an ancient Roman city mentioned even by ancient authors such as Virgil who said Atina was home to “many illustrious and notable men.”
Sleeps 8-10. 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms.

This day excursion is so beautiful. The name of the town (Liri's Island) came from the fact that the Liri river divides into two branches and forms and island. In the town centre there is the dazzling Cascata Grande (big waterfall), that is worth watching. Every year at the end of June, Isola del Liri hosts the prestigious Liri Blues Festival. After the winter Olympics in Torino, the concept of the White Night, or Notte Bianca spread throughout Italy. The historical sites of Atina are open all night such as the Archeological Museum, Palazzo Ducale and the Cathedral of Santa Maria di Assunta and people walk around all night. Really cool atmosphere. Amazing restful villa in the middle of Roma and Napoli. Perfectly equidistant form Roma and Napoli. Easy day trips to Rome, Naples, Pompeii, Amalfi Coast. Also very cool and interesting local attractions. The Valley of Comino is full of charming small villages such as Gallinaro, Piscinisco, Settefratti, San Donato, each with its own charm and beauty, food, folklore and wine. It's worth exploring the road less travelled.
I have been personally visiting this area for over 20 years and can personally attest to its beauty and tranquility. Every time I return to the US for work, etc I tell myself 'One day I will live here.' Sure its takes a little longer to get things done, but everything seems to move on a different more relaxed schedule, not the frantic pace Im used to...
Year Purchased: 1986
About: I am Domenico Angelucci and am a retired professional. I grew up in Atina and love this area of Italia. My wife Maria and I love gardening and planting fruit trees. We raised our two boys Alex and Vittorio in this villa and we designed it from the ground up.
Why Atina FR, Italy:
I build this villa from the ground up 25 years ago with my lovely wife Maria who is from Athens, Greece. I was born in Atina and decided to buy this land and build my villa here because of the amazing microclimate here. We raised our two boys here and now enjoy our retirement and spend our time in between Greece and Italy.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
We enjoy sunbathing and relaxing by the pool. We also really enjoy the yearly olive harvest, as we have nearly 150 olive trees in our olive grove. We love spending time with the grandkids and the rest of the family.
