About Kalona

I am an RN and Photographer here in the beautiful state of Oregon…Love to travel & crave the ocean and tropical weather. Spend as much time as possible in Jamaica and with family on Maui.

Kalona purchased this house in 2008

Why Kalona chose West Eugene

Growing up on the Oregon coast, Eugene was always the 'big city' for us:) I have always loved the mellow University town feel the Eugene has. Initially we had thought of purchasing a house further away from town….but having chosen this location, I couldn't be happier! It has the quiet neighborhood and wonderful neighbors, but with the ease of access to anywhere!

What makes this house unique

Our location here is ideal! Having grown up in the country, it is a wonderful thing to be able to walk just down the street to Sweet Life for a cup of coffee, to the market or out for lunch. We frequently see concerts at MacDonald Theater and The Cuthbert, catch shows at the Hult Center and games at Autzen Stadium..It is wonderful to be within a few minutes of everything.

Excellent location and very comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for the month of August 2017. The house is comfortable, clean and exceptionally well stocked with linen, towels and paper products. Everything worked perfectly and we really enjoyed our stay. If you enjoy walking, downtown Eugene has it all and this house is perfectly located to walk to everything!!

We hope to return!

Nice, clean, comfortable home close to downtown Eugene

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in Eugene, and at Kalona’s rental on Jackson. So much nicer than staying in a hotel. Room to stretch out and feel at home. Stocked with the essentials and most of what we needed. Enjoyed having a kitchen and dining area. Also nice area to walk, and a short walk to downtown. (Unfortunately it rained a while every day we were here)

We definitely enjoyed our stay and visiting family in the Eugene area.

Great Value in Eugene

  • 5 of 5

This cottage exceeded my expectations. It was clean, quiet, comfortable and had everything we needed. It was nice having a second bathroom, as well as amenities such as a dishwasher and washer/dryer. There was also a small driveway so that we didn’t have to park on the street. I liked the way the house was decorated. My only suggestion would be to get a bigger TV. All in all, this cottage was a good deal and I would definitely stay there again if I return to Eugene.

Charming 2-bedroom Eugene cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have stayed here several times. This time the days were warm, the sun was shining most of our stay and we could enjoy the upstairs deck off of the master bedroom. The cottage is a charming place, centrally located, and well-equipped with kitchen and laundry supplies. There is also a well-labeled cupboard stocked with a variety of odds and ends that might be needed, like a hammer or batteries. Additionally, the owner is easily accessible if a question arises and it cannot be answered by the house information book or postings on the refrigerator. We look forward to staying here.
