This enchanting lodge is located just 4 miles north of Durango Mountain Resort. Be at resort activities in minutes, while feeling away from it all in a quiet and secluded, wooded paradise. The location of the home is also convenient for trips to the mining town of Silverton, one of the beauties of the four corners. As you arrive at the property you will find beautiful mountain and pond views from the deck. A large gazebo covers the large private hot tub. The large kitchen is a cook's dream with plenty of space and updated appliances. The family can gather around the large island with bar seating or sit at one of the 2 dining tables with seating for 12. There is a lovely sitting area with a large wood fireplace, perfect for curling up and watching the snow fall. Downstairs you will find theater room with 3 couches and an 80" flat panel TV. One of the couches is a sofa sleeper for additional sleeping options. There is a large laundry and utility room with washer and dryer on this floor as well. Upstairs on the top floor you will find 3 bedrooms. The master suite has a king bed with private bath and private balcony overlooking the mountains. The second bedroom features 2 queen beds. A full bath can also be found on this floor. The third bedroom is great for the kids featuring 2 queen beds plus a sleeping loft with 2 twin mattresses. This room also has a private bath. Step outside to enjoy a soak in the large, private hot tub or take in the beauty of the ponds and surrounding mountains. Please note due to the remote location this home does not have internet access. Cell phone service is typically good enough to use your hot spot to connect.

We were so excited to stay at this house but when we actually arrived our excitement disappeared pretty fast. The garage is too small for a full size SUV so we had to leave our car outside. It was 5F when we arrived. The fridge smelled so bad we didn't want to use it at all. It was hot on the main floor but it was freezing on the second floor where all of the bedrooms are located. We had a 4 year old with us so we had to use all the blankets we had plus the once we have brought with us. We rented this house for 4 nights but left after 3 because of how cold this house was. There is no cell phone connection at all. Oh and in case you have to get up in the middle of the night you will wake the whole house up because of the squicking floors. They said there will be coffee filters but we didn't find any. The only good thing about this property is the location and the views outside , they were gorgeous. We were dissatisfied with our stay and the amount of money we paid for this place.
Cindy jester, 116 rendezvous, Amarillo Texas. We give the lodge a five star! When we drove up we knew we had hit a home run, beautiful place, everything you could think of for comfort in a mountain setting. The home was spotless, all the modern conveniences in a spectacular cabin atmosphere. The views were breathtaking and easy access to any activity Durango and silverton has to offer. Our bucket list adventures included Atv at silverton, train and ziplining . We will recommend this place to everyone and can't wait to come back. The whole process was easy with the property managers. Thank you for our stay.
The pictures on line really attracted us to this property, but to be there was amazing! From the beautiful views out of every window and deck to the spacious living space and kitchen area was way better than imagined. This place has everything! We usually go camping and pack half of the kitchen and house so it was so nice to walk in to a completely furnished kitchen and cabinets. We had 11 people staying - 3 couples - five in our room with the loft, another had 4 with the two queens and sofa sleeper, and the other was a couple without kids so they had the master suite. They had family staying at a resort nearby, so a couple of evenings the 3 of them came for dinner. The kitchen was the perfect size to accommodate everyone eating, laughing and talking! The hot tub was a huge hit for the 5 kids ages 9-22. One night we roasted hotdogs and s'mores and enjoyed the meteor shower later that evening on the deck. The movie room downstairs is a great feature but where we come from its over 100 degrees in August so we wanted to spend as much time in the cool mountain air as possible. Because we were so close to everything and Colorado offers so many outdoor activities we spent a lot of time away from the cabin. We rented jeeps in Silverton and drove to Engineer Pass and the Alpine Loop, rode the train from Durango to Silverton, hiked in Ouray, played at the Purgatory Village, horseback riding and shopping. Wished we had had more time to relax, but we did enjoy breakfast and coffee out on the deck every morning. It's my daughters senior year so I took advantage of the beautiful mountain scene off the deck and the meadow with pond to capture some wonderful pictures to use for graduation! Thank you for helping make our week perfect - We definitely recommend staying at this cabin!
Driving up to the Lodge we all cheered!! It was way bigger and more beautiful than the pictures had shown. The Lodge was amazing inside and out. All the comforts of home and more. It fit all 15 of us comfortably! We loved cooking in the big kitchen, the kids loved the huge media room and spent alot of time in the Jacuzzi, which looked out onto the mountains. We felt like we were out in the middle of the forest and loved it!!! We hope to be back sooner than later.
This home exceeded all our expectations. Even though it was near a highway, we felt secluded. The view of the mountains around us was beautiful. My husband enjoyed throwing a line out in the pond below every morning. Our four grandchildren, ages five to ten, played board games left in the house instead of playing video games. They loved the theater with the 80" screen in the basement. My daughter and I were in love with the kitchen's spacious layout with its subzero fridge.
My only concern with the place were the threats of losing part or all the deposit for a myriad of small infractions. I worried over missing some tiny detail that would make me forfeit the deposit. I would have appreciated knowing all those details prior to sending any payment. Also, there was an extra fee imposed if you paid by credit card, which was a first for me, and I have rented several VRBO's.
Our party of 11 just spent a week at the Lodge at Mill Creek. What a wonderful experience! We came from all over - Indiana, Alabama and the Denver area. Everyone's expectations were met, to the fullest! The house was fabulous - generous rooms, jaw-dropping view from the deck and the kitchen window .... never had any problem convincing anyone to wash or dry the dishes, because we would just stand there and gawk at the three peaks with their snow-capped tops. Kitchen was a dream ..... so easy to work in, and plenty of room for 11 people to mill around, waiting for the food to come forth. Appreciated the special water filtration facet - we were consuming tons of water to help fend off any altitude issues. Would recommend this home in a heart-beat, and wish life would provide us with a second chance to revisit.
