Pros and cons
We got off to a rough start, as we were given a non working access door code. We arrived very late at night after driving from across country, so we were exhausted and just wanted to sleep. The host responded rather quickly with a new working code, however we had already found other accommodations by that time (VRBO customer service was not helpful).Night two through four were okay. The multiple roosters crowing at 3am is a little hard to get used to. It would be nice if there were curtains or room darkening blinds, at the minimum non-broken blinds, so there is actual privacy from the neighbors. The home itself has severe structural issues and the middle of the home (kitchen, bath and hallway) are sagging, forcing the flooring to gap and causing trip issues. It was fine for us, but would not work for young kids and elderly. The house is very cute and moderately clean but could definitely use a deep cleaning and refresh. The rugs are gross, the pillows are thin/over used and the living room chair is stained. Surfaces and floors when whipped with paper towels are dirty. There are also no working smoke or carbon detectors in the house. The final night Ybor partied hard and it was like a scene from a movie. The neighborhood itself is pretty rough on a normal night. This night in particular there was loud music, parties and fireworks until after 1am. The fireworks were impressive and better than any local show we’ve ever seen, but it went on for hours.
