Beautifully landscaped property with immense personality!

Held a wedding here and the overall natural beauty made for absolute gorgeous photos. The vast property allowed for wedding and reception to be held in an intimate setting with close family and friends! Highly recommend and can't wait to go back for a vacation in the near future!

Beautiful property. Wonderful owner

  • 5 of 5

We recently had our wedding at this rental, and have only great things to say about this property and it's owner. We got so many compliments from guests too about what a great place it was to host a wedding. We would love to come back again, and think it would be great and beautiful ANY OCCASSION or ANY SEASON.

The landscaping, pond, back deck, and fire pit make for an absolutely cozy, inviting and beautiful area. You can tell so much time, effort and care goes into making your stay the best it can be (and it won't disappoint!).

The inside of the home is gorgeous as well. Very spacious (bride and groom were able to get ready here in separate rooms). All living amenities and more can be found here (random things you forget like pens or tape, scissors, serving bowls, etc) which we found extremely handy.

Paul (the owner) is extremely friendly, and very prompt if you ever need to get ahold of him. Could not picture a better person to deal with :)

Perfect all In one venue for our outdoor wedding... And more

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at 34 Brecken Ridge for the week of our wedding, but would absolutely recommend this location for a restful family vacation, a business retreat, or a couples' getaway.

A cost effective alternative to renting halls and hotels ... One week instead of one night, for the same cost! We were able to have our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, our wedding, and our gift opening all in one spot.

Though the interior of the home is beautiful and with cots and couches capable of accommodating 10 sleepover guests (our bridal party stayed the night before the wedding), the real star of the show is the beautiful gardens. A photographer's dream! No need to leave the location to have your wedding photos taken. The extensive gardens offer so many opportunities for beautiful, intimate photos.

We had approximately 150 guests at our wedding. The upper deck was where guests enjoyed their meal with plenty of room for tables and seating (a local company, MacFarland's, offers a 10% discount on table/chair/linen etc rentals for guests of 34 Brecken Ridge). The lower deck was roomy enough to seat all our guests, and offered a lovely view of the pond and ducks behind us as we exchanged vows. After the ceremony and meal, the lower deck was our dance floor.

After the wedding, we had three days to rest and relax as a newly married couple, enjoying breakfast by the duck pond and romantic evening bonfires.

The owner, Paul, is very accommodating and is available to help with any concerns or needs you might have, as well as just being a great guy to get along with!

We loved our time at 34 Brecken Ridge and would recommend this home to any couple looking for their dream wedding venue.

This property is beautifully kept and provided the ultimate wedding venue for our August 4th wedding. Paul was wonderful to deal with and we available to answer all our questions we had over the week. Thanks for making our wedding week fabulous!

Severe disappointment as wedding venue: needs thorough cleaning & repairs

  • 2 of 5

Spending 2 months on the road at 8 rentals, this was the dirtiest rental. Since we were using the site as a wedding venue, the large cleaning fee reassured me that the venue would be ready to use. On booking house last October, we requested removal of as many animals/birds/pelts as possible. On arrival, finding nothing removed, we were told we could remove and store whatever we liked. Great except this place has no storage. A large Xmas tree in laundry closet pushed all mops & brooms to entry closet. Four large metal cots fill master/guest closets so to use closets cots have to sit out. Finally had to store animals in dining room and cover glass doors. Kitchen cupboards full of party remnants of previous events. Bathroom cupboards contain many partial bottles of shampoo, etc.

Contract states have to sort garbage/recycling, put used linens in laundry room & start dishwasher. So large cleaning fee covered clean linens, clean bathrooms, clean kitchen counters & clean fridge. Two hours walking around inside our feet were coal black and had to be washed before bed every night. Almost every drawer contained discarded papers and personal items from previous guests as well as food wrappers on master closet floor. Thick layer of food crumbs under sofa cushions. I had to clean windows and dust after removing animals. Outside eaves were so clogged with needles that dirty water dripped on serving tables 24 hours after rain.

Most large leather furniture needs new padding or springs. My 120 lb mom fell through outside chair repaired with packing tape. Bought coffee beans before discovered grinder broken. Iron has piece falling off.

Cheapest thing was that all hangers were from dry cleaners or store discards. Had to buy hangers for wedding clothes. Funniest thing was toilet paper in all bathrooms was too large so sat on top of holders. Even though we'd been left with enough for 6 days, had to buy proper paper for event. Also like to note that Paul uses detached garage for his business so trucks/people coming at different times including when we were trying to take wedding photos. Finally, although the pics show a peaceful setting, I was surprised how close the house was to the highway and amount of road noise.

My biggest regret from this experience was not videotaping the entire place on arrival. Under full disclosure, my wedding guests broke 2 outside lights which wiped out my damage deposit.

In spite of the conditions, we had a great wedding.
