The Bunkhouse was great! Very comfortable and a fabulous location. It was a short hiking trip for us. The bed was comfortable and the whole place clean. We would return and highly recommend!

Everything was so clean with great amenities. It's a very warm and inviting place. Ozzy and Lou came to welcome us. They're great! Our favorite part was sitting on the deck. Very peaceful and relaxing. The location is great since it's right off the main road, however, it felt like we were far away from it with all of the space and privacy that's found on the property. Would definitely stay here again!!

The property is exceptionally well-kept. The landscaping is beautiful and the living quarters are just right for a single guest or a couple. The hosts are friendly and welcoming and have thought of just about everything a guest could need or want. The property is well-supplied with every necessity and there is a good selection of books, movies and even puzzles. If you’re looking for a comfortable and peaceful place to stay, I highly recommend the Bunkhouse!

What a beautiful property! When we pulled in we were immediately met by the Hosts who were gracious and welcoming! The kitchen was well stocked and easy to prepare meals. The focal point of our stay was the front porch! What a Time Suck! In the morning while it's still cool(we went in July) we would have our tea and plan our day! What with the Hummingbirds flying all around and watching the rabbits and other wildlife it could take hours just to leave! Time Suck! Then in the evening, it's the sunset that does you in, because it goes on for hours! Also, this location is superb! It's not in Tucson proper, but off the beaten path

Paradise in Picture Rocks

Lou and Ozzie are fabulous hosts. They go out of their way to make your stay at, (The Bunkhouse) an amazing experience. They also give you your space on the property. Their attention to detail is spot on, as far as what they include in The Bunkhouse for your stay. The area is rural and quiet but you are not far from Marana or Tucson. I have yet to meet hosts that are as accepting as these two. 10 out of 10.

Prime location to Saguaro National Park West!

The best thing about The Bunkhouse is the location. Many different trails in the National park can be accessed within only a 4 to 14 minute drive. I think we hiked or ran them all! WE LOVED Saguaro West and were happy to see the saguaros in bloom! This mobile home was a good size for 2, with one of us using the bedroom and the other using the living room . Apparently (according to my 24 year old daughter) the pull out bed from the couch was not very comfortable, as one might expect, so I wouldn’t want to sleep on it for more than a week. The bed in the bedroom was great, though. Nice to be able to use the owner’s pool area, and to have easy parking. We never even tried turning on the tv’s. We felt very safe and welcome here. Oh, be sure to stop for groceries at the first WalMart you see after leaving the airport because shopping near The Bunkhouse is very limited. If you’re looking for a peaceful, no-frills and affordable place to stay that is near the national park
 The Bunkhouse is it! P.S. No need to set a morning alarm. The goofy birds (hooded orioles?) will wake you up by frantically pecking on all your windows EVERY morning during the hour of sunrise!

Mountain Bunkhouse

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our months’ stay in Picture Rocks, near Saguaro National Park!, Sonoran Desert Museum and Old Tucson! The hosts were very welcoming and helpful during our stay, the bunkhouse came very well equipped and the owners even gave us fresh oranges from their orange trees. The property is very beautiful and well maintained, The owners have a pool behind their home (directly across from Bunkhouse) which they are happy to share, along with allowing guests to use their washer and dryer! Tucson and area is about a 20-30 minute drive. The internet is sometimes slow, but that’s to be expected up in the mountains. Overall, the setting is beautifully quiet with easy access to hiking.the mountains!

Nice rural desert location

The Bunkhouse had everything we needed for our 7 day stay. Great location for getting to know the area surrounding Tucson. Nice to have an extra TV in the bedroom! Enjoyed hearing wildlife at night and having fresh oranges available!

Peaceful, cozy and cute!

Loved our time at the Bunkhouse! It is the perfect place to stay to be right by Saguaro National Park. Hiking and views are right outside the door. The porch was perfect for watching birds and bunnies. We felt right at home and appreciated the great use of space- it’s small but room enough for the two of us. We stayed at Christmas and were so happy to see a little tree complete with a wrapped gift!

Schönes Haus inmitten der Saguaros

Great Place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in The Bunkhouse! We chose to stay here because of its proximity to the venue for the wedding we were attending, but if we are ever in the area again, we would stay here again. It was nice to sit on the deck and watch the hummingbirds. Great accommodations! Thank you for sharing The Bunkhouse with us!

Bunk house

Outstanding property, clean, quiet, owners available if needed. Priced quite reasonable. Everything is available, pots, pans, toaster, micro. Next time I go out I hope this will be available. Definitely recommend.

Super Saguaro Stay

We absolutely loved the Bunkhouse. We were in Tucson for my birthday and our fabulous hosts Lou and Ozzy had a birthday card and festive cupcake waiting for me. This is a perfect getaway and we only wished we had more time there.

Quiet picturesque setting. We enjoy tranquil days and amazing starry nights in the heart of the Tucson Mountains. Enjoy bird watching for hummingbirds, eagles, owls, woodpeckers, quail and if you're really lucky... a Roadrunner... Beep Beep! We're close to Old Tucson Studios, Saguaro National Park, The Ironwood National Monument, and a easy day trip away from world famous Tombstone, Tubac art community, Bisbee, a mining town known for its blue turquoise, Colossal Cave and many more. Come for one of our many festivals, The world-famous Tucson Gem and Mineral show, Mariachi Festival, El Tour de Tucson bicycle race, The Fiesta De Los Vaqueros Tucson Rodeo and Rex Allen Days in Wilcox Az. to name a few. Whatever you reason for visiting southern Arizona we think you'll enjoy our hospitality and peaceful setting.

Owners would love to take you on guided morning hikes through The Tucson Mountains, visiting abandoned mines and ancient Indian petroglyphs. Relax by the pool or snooze in the hammock under a huge ironwood tree or enjoy the sunsets from the large front porch see coyote, quail, rabbits and if you're really fortunate maybe even a bobcat. Bird watch, pick fresh oranges & grapefruit to enjoy for breakfast.
