Tranquil Harbour House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

A Place “4 All Seasons”

Get away from it all at this charming one level home. Situated on Oak Island Drive, nestled in the trees on a corner lot, '4 All Seasons' is centrally located yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle. In just six to eight blocks, you'll be at a beautiful stretch of sandy beach. Not quite in sight of the ocean, yet easily within earshot, you'll want to sit back, relax and take it easy in the rockers on either the covered front porch or the screened in back porch.

Built in 2003, this comfortable home features like new furniture and decor. Centrally heated and cooled, you will enjoy the openness and natural light in the living and dining room with the double windows and bay window. Just turn on the ceiling fan and relax in front of the color cable television (with DVD/VHS), read a good book while resting in the recliner or play a board game provided.

Keep in touch with family and friends on the wireless high speed internet. Or, if you must, take care of a little business. Just remember, the reason you are here is to relax, relax, relax!

The kitchen is well equipped and conveniently laid out for ease of preparation. It features ceramic tile floors and all the necessary appliances to create an unforgettable family meal. The dining room, decorated with a shell theme, features a rattan glass top table with seating for six.

The home features three comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has light wood furniture and features a triple dresser and queen bed with plush mattresses and extra feather pillows. It is decorated in a rock garden

theme and has a walk-in closet. Relax or take a nap under the ceiling fan. Wake up to the sounds of your favorite CD on the CD/radio alarm clock. The master bath features a garden tub and window to let in the morning sun.

The second bedroom features a white bead-board bed with a matching chest-of-drawers. It is decorated with nautical theme complete with a surfboard floor lamp and ceiling fan. A perfect retreat for children, this room has a trundle bed and cable television with DVD/VHS.

The third bedroom is decorated with a sea life theme. The off-white wicker furniture features a queen bed and a matching chest-of-drawers. Relax as the ceiling fan cools you down.

The second bath is brightly decorated in a beach motif and features a long window over the shower to bring in the natural light.

Once the day is done, wash the sand from your clothes in the washer and dryer located in the laundry room where you will also find in the cabinets many DVD’s, VHS, books, magazines and puzzles.

By the way, don't miss out on eating out on the deck complete with a seven-piece dining set.

While located on the main road, the double paved drive is conveniently located on the side of the house for ease of entry and exit.

Just minutes away you will find convenient public parking at several beach access areas. The family friendly beach has no high rises, few condos and limited commercial areas. Enjoy a relaxing walk, jog, bike ride, miniature golf, boating, fishing from one of the two piers, experience skydiving at the local airport, or simply catch up on your reading or work on your tan.

Since Oak Island is a south facing beach, you can enjoy both the sunrise and the sunset over the ocean. A favorite place to enjoy either is from one of the piers sitting comfortable on a bench.

Nearby restaurants abound, but for those desiring to have a home cooked meal you will find most everything you will need at Food Lion on the island or Lowe’s Food or Wal-Mart on the mainland. Getting that special ice cream at the Dairy Queen will be a great treat!

Other things that may interest you on the island are numerous churches, parks, and recreation center. You will also find a lighthouse, Coast Guard Station, public golf course, tennis courts and a variety of interesting shops. There are a lot of beach rental places for a wide variety of excursions. You can also book a deep sea fishing trip.

Just 7 miles away is the quaint town of Southport where movies are made and ghost walks are exciting. Known for their many antique shops and rich history exploring the city is packed with fun and adventure. A movie theater is located between Oak Island and Southport.

For those of you loving a good yard sale, much pleasure awaits you! You don’t even have to get a newspaper, since only one main road serves the main island and one the ocean front, just look for the many signs. You’ll also find treasures at the many thrift stores in the area.

Enjoy a great day trip to Bald Head Island, the Wilmington, Carolina, Kure beaches or Fort Fisher by ferry. The ferry trip alone is a great experience, especially for children, as they feed the seagulls and feel the wind in their face. While at Fort Fisher you can explore the museum and battlefield and make memories having a picnic lunch under the Yaupon trees overlooking the beach. Many enjoy the education opportunity at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.

So pack your bags and leave your worries behind to enjoy the comforts of home at this charming home '4 All Seasons'. Just like the name indicates, this home is perfect for any time of the year.

Keywords: This comfortable, clean, tastefully decorated home is a great little get-away for a week or a few days at any time of the year. Thus the name 4 All Seasons. Convenient to the beach, restaurants, fishing piers, a light house and much more. A place for rest and relaxation with many opportunities for activities and day trips. Kick off your shoes and make yourself at home without breaking the bank. Rockers await you on the front porch and screened in back porch. About The Owner

I have enjoyed many great visits and made many happy memories with our children over the past 30 years at Oak Island. Our 4 children partially gave us the inspiration to name our home '4 All Seasons'. The other reason is because, with them, we have enjoyed every season of the year.

By profession I am a neonatal nurse. I work part-time which enables me to spend long weekends at the beach and volunteer in the community. I have been a leader with the Boy Scout of America for over 20 years. I enjoy a variety of handcrafts and collecting.

My husband is employed by the US Postal Service. His passion is reading.

The Owner purchased this house in 2003

Why The Owner chose Oak Island

We started going to Oak Island over 30 years ago. It was not long before my husband and I realized that we would love to have a second home on Oak Island. We loved the family atmosphere, and the less commercialized area offered at OI. We love how close it is to so many awesome activities but mostly we enjoy relaxing and spending time with our children. Actually this is the second vacation home we have owned at OI. We started out in a smaller home and as the family grew we decided to build this home in 2003.

What makes this house unique

Our home is about 6-8 blocks from the beach. A short walk or bike ride will have you at it's sandy shore. Convenient parking is available at several areas if you go by car. Sometimes we enjoy area attractions and within a hour drive you can be at several other beaches which offers lots of shopping, entertainment shows, race car tracks, water slides and the like. We find browsing in the many antique shops, in nearby Southport, like going down memory lane. On lots of Saturday mornings we can't wait to go treasure hunting at the many, easy to find, yard sales. As our children have gotten older we often times leave them to spend a few quite minutes simply sitting back on a bench at the Oak Island pier watching the sun set. While my husband enjoys just relaxing in the gentle breeze at the beach, just listening to the calming sounds of the ocean waves, and our children play in the sand or surf in the beach, I enjoy looking for shells. There's no telling how many wonderful shells I have found. I have learned many of their common names. My favorite, and not so hard to find at OI, is the 'baby's ear' shell. (Maybe because it reminds me of the babies I take care of.) We also enjoy every season and holiday at the beach. I am fair skin so I'm not one for laying out in the sun much. It is no surprise that I would also enjoy cooler months. Can you imaging Christmas at the beach? It is so surreal to see the twinkling of Christmas lights at the beach. Our children have had many a visit from the 'Easter Bunny' at the beach and participated in the annual community Easter Egg hunt at Middleton Park. It is also great to start out the New Year at the beach. Of course, any time through the summer, Memorial Day and Labor Day are great. Lighthouse tours are available and what fun we had on the Ghost Tour in Southport. Mainly getting away from the worries and woes of home is the one of the main draws to drive to Oak Island. It's our sanctuary!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Guest Comment Entered by Owner: We want to thank you both for such a wonderful time you allowed us to have by sharing your beautiful home with us. The children really had a great time. They actually, didn't want to leave. Everything was neat and in place. The island was so cute and had such a laid-back atmosphere. I liked that it was more of a family beach than anything else. Hopefully we can share this again in the future.

Wonderful Experience

  • 5 of 5

I would recommend this beach house to anyone. It is beautiful, fully equipped and in a very central location. We spent the past week there and it was wonderful. And the owners are so nice. I will definitely return to Oak Island and already thinking about a long weekend in the fall at $ All Seasons. What a great first time experience at Oak Island.

4 All Seasons is Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

The house was immaculate. Decorated beautifully. Fully stocked kitchen with anything you would want or need. The beds were very comfortable. Very comfortable pillows. Very convenient to beach and to stores. Our family truly enjoyed our stay and did not want to leave. Felt like I was coming home as soon as I walked through the door. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your wonderful home.

Another Reason to Enjoy OKI

  • 5 of 5

I have been going to Oak Island since I was a twinkle in my dad's eye. I am now 51, and for the last 25+ years I have been taking my own family to the place that was the sight of so many great boyhood memories. My wife and I went there for our honeymoon, and we have been taking our children as often as possible since we were married 25 years ago. But I have to say that this year's stay was one of our most--if not the most enjoyable. Although we have rented larger houses while staying at Oak Island, we were truly surprised by the many special comforts and amenities that "4 All Seasons" offered. The kitchen was a delight. When they say it is fully stocked with all the needed pots, pans, and appliances to provide for your own meals, they were not exaggerating. This is the first vacation rental where I did not need to go out and buy knives or a pot and pan or two if we wanted to cook our own meals. I was impressed! And so was my wife. Also, my kids loved it. My oldest, who is rarely upbeat and positive about anything, loved the house and commented often about how perfect it was for our family and could we stay there again next year. And for a family with a child in college and one on the threshold, it was very budget friendly. The owners were very accommodating and a joy to work with. This was our first experience using VRBO. And I could not conceive how our experience could have been a better one. I would wholeheartedly recommend this rental to any family that is looking for a reasonably priced, and surprisingly comfortable and luxurious rental. You will definitely feel pampered and refreshed after a week at 4 All Seasons.

Memories Created For A Lifetime!

  • 5 of 5

Have you ever went somewhere and been completely blown away? Oak Island is our little slice of heaven. What made it even better and more memorable was being able to experience a week in comfort. The "4 All Seasons" vacation rental home is all that and more. We were able to sleep in comfortable, stylish bedrooms that allowed us to feel right at home. The beds were amazingly comfortable!!! My family was able to spread out and not feel on top of each other. The garden tub made showering with my little one super easy after a long day at the beach. We do not have 2 bathrooms in our current home so it was great not needing to fight with our other children to use a bathroom or shower. Having the laundry area was another wonderful amenity. We were able to do our laundry at our convenience. The kitchen was well stocked and equipped for our needs too. I liked that it wasn't too far from the action but yet close enough where we didn't feel out of the loop. We were never bothered by the neighbors or loud music or other distractions. We ate breakfast every morning as a family and truly, truly enjoyed every minute of our stay at 4 All Seasons! Our children and even ourselves talk fondly of Oak Island almost daily. As much as we want to explore this great country with our children, I think our hearts will always long for that week we spent in Oak Island. I hope we are able to come back and experience the same joys with our newest addition to our family. I wish the drive wasn't so long otherwise I think we'd be back again this year. Valerie was an amazing woman to work with who accommodated us so well. We would LOVE to stay at 4 All Seasons again in the future. There is not anywhere else we would want to ever stay. I strongly encourage any of you looking for a great vacation rental to stop right now and book 4 All Seasons. You will not be sorry!!!!

Awesome "4 All Seasons"

  • 5 of 5

After checking many houses on VRBO & trying to make last minute plans to visit Oak Island, we choose "4 All Seasons" for many reasons. The owner was so quick with a response with availability and so informative with what the home had to offer, we booked immediately. When we arrived we were in awe with the home & it's wonderful Beach decor and how clean the house was. The house had absolutely everything we could ask for & more. The beds in all the bedrooms were so comfortable with excellent pillows as well. The board games, movie selections and local interest books were all extras for enjoyment. My personal favorite was the CD collection in the kitchen that i could listen to each night while cooking dinner with the family & enjoying a glass of wine. The location was excellent with close access to the beach, shopping & dining out and many other things to do. We had to eat at "Little Bits" because it was referred to by the locals....great burgers, but call ahead they"Go Fishing "

alot. Wonderful week with our children with wonderful memories made. We highly recommend this Beach House Rental.

Cant wait to come back

  • 5 of 5

Upon arriving at the beach house we noticed how clean and well kept everything was. We loved the fact that there wasnt alot of stairs to climb and everything was in the house that you could possibly need. The kitchen was well laid out and had a nice big table for six. It also had a laundry room that was great for getting all the sand off of our clothes after a long day on the beach. The beds in the house slept so good that we slept in a little longer each morning. I could go on and on about this house but i dont want the word to get out how amazing it is and not be able to ever rent it due to it being always booked. :] We look forward to coming back as much as possible. Thanks, A Maston
