About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Storyteller is located in the heart of Wears Valley. Wears Valley is the gateway to the Smoky Mountain National Park, Pigeon Forge, Townsend and a short drive through scenic mountain roads into Gatlinburg.

Our cabin is privately nestled on 1.5 acres in Cove Mountain. There is plenty of private parking on our driveway. In just about any seat on our wrap around balcony, you will experience the breathtaking panoramic view of The Smoky Mountains. Enjoy the sounds of nature and you may catch wild jack rabbits, raccoons, and can spot a bear around too!. The smell of fresh mountain air and pine will relax even the most stressed city slickers.

Built in 2005, Storyteller makes a perfect retreat for the entire family or group of friends. Our brand new sofa turns into a bed to comfortly accomodate up to 8 adults. TVs and DVD players are located in every room. You will definitely enjoy the fireplace and our movie collection if you stay in at night. All TVs are equipped with satellite (Dish). We provide everything and anything you will need to cook up your Tennessee meal in our kitchen. There is a charcoal BBQ out on the balcony for an Ol' Smoky cookout. Roast marshmallows in our gazebo around the built-in gas firepit and make sure to share a story or 2. We love to sit out there and drink hot cocoa in the winter months while the firepit warms us up!

The playroom downstairs is home to a billiards table, wet bar with built-in fridge. Watch your favorite game on TV while you battle it out for the Storyteller billiards championship; we have had all nighter tournaments! After a long day sightseeing in the Smokies or shopping at the Pigeon Forge outlets, relax and soak up in the outdoor hot tub under the stars.

Stay with us and you also get a personal travel planner; we will provide you with all the best attractions, restaurants, and activities. For the bikers, the local Harley Davidson shop is just 11 miles from our cabin in Pigeon Forge on light #3. If you prefer to fly n ride, you can rent a motorcycle at the Harley Davidson or at EagleRiders of Knoxville. Just ask us and we will be glad to provide all the details. Go skiing/snowboarding in Ober Gatlinburg or Cataloochee (Maggie Vally, NC). Explore Cades Cove, Tuckaleechee Cavens, Clingman's Dome, or gamble at the Harrah's Casino in Cherokee, NC. Ready for some thrills, go white water rafting. The Biltmore Estate is also a short drive away. They have a great winery and Estate tour. Just ask, we will give you great travel ideas during your stay with us!

We love dogs and allow them in our the cabin with a pet cleaning fee. Please include breed and weight at booking. The cabin is smoke free, you may smoke outside provided that you pick up after yourself ; no buds on the lawn or anywhere else please. No fireworks allowed.

Keywords: A private luxurious cabin with that cozy home feel. Decorated for Christmas all year long.

Enjoy roasting marshmallows out on the balcony's built-in fire pit overlooking the Smokies or stay in to watch one of the many movies from the video collection.

Kids, you'll have plenty to do playing one of many board games or duel it out at the billiards table. Don't worry, we have plenty of movies for you too.

Feel like having a home made BBQ? We have that too. Cook on our charcoal BBQ while you soak in the mountain view.

Tired after a long day at nearby Dollywood or from a long day hiking at near-by Smoky Mountain National Park? We have an outdoor hot tub waiting for you to relax those tired muscles.

Storyteller Cabin in Wears Valley; sharing our home away from home with you.

About Angel and Mabel Rivera

We are hardworking professionals who enjoy the city life and enjoy escaping to the mountains as much as we can. We enjoy riding our motorcycle, ballroom dancing, and traveling. We have 3 dogs; a beagle and 2 miniature schnauzers.

Angel and Mabel Rivera purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Angel and Mabel Rivera chose East

We have enjoyed coming to the Smokies for over 17 years and worked hard to finally purchase Storyteller. We remember the realtor taking us around town to see cabins but the minute we walked into Storyteller, we were hooked. The gazebo is what gave us the idea to call the cabin Storyteller. Our families were used to gathering for hours on end and telling stories about life, funny moments, and stories they wanted us to remember and pass on.

What makes this cabin unique

When staying at Stroyteller, we enjoy the scenery of the mountains, rafting, shopping, but most of all doing nothing at all; just kicking it back and relaxing.

Beautiful cabin and great location

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is high on top of a hill with lots of privacy. It is well maintained, but the furniture is old, which, depending on your perspective can add to the charm or not. There is a gas fire pit which makes it very convenient to operate and you can set out even in the cold because of it. The cabin is advertised as sleeps 10. We were 7 and thought it was a very tight fit. I think, sleeps 6 is more appropriate.

A word of caution for visitors in bad weather. The drive up to the cabin will be a challenge and you will need a 4x4. Especially the last turn into the cabin. It is a 60 degree incline of gravel road.

But overall, our experience was fab.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your comments and review we really appreciate the feedback and glad you had a great time. We are actually mid mountain and have many more cabins above us if you continue on the road before making the left into our subdivision. Our furniture is pretty new except for a few rustic pieces which were locally handmade like our dining table and dresser in the kids room. We also have a few antiques too but more for charm than anything else. Our cabin is actually located on a loop road which can be accessed via 2 roads; Raccoon Hollow or Possum Ridge. If you come up via Possom Ridge you drive right into our driveway making it extremely easy to go in. Plus we have one of the largest parking areas in front of a cabin with mountain view. We are actually listed as "sleeps 8" but our maximum is 10 adults. We only allow 2 adults to sleep on air mattress. The roads to the cabin and our driveway up to the parking area are completely made of asphalt. Only the leveled parking area is filled with gravel. We never had a gravel driveway. Our guests now in January had 5 inches of snow and had no issues getting in and out of our cabin driveway with a regular SUV. For any doubts you can check our pictures or Facebook page. We hope to have you come back soon and stay with us again

Very peaceful and relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a blast at the Storyteller cabin. We enjoyed the fireplace and my kiddos loved "swimming" in the hot tub. The view from the kitchen table was awesome. We hope to come and visit again one day soon!

Beautiful cabin with awesome views.

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was beautifully decorated. Drive up was a little sketchy, but the views were well worth it. Hope to be back this summer.

Storyteller lived up to its name.

We enjoyed our stay at this nicely decorated and equipped cabin. We were visited by a bear which gave us a story to tell our friends. We would consider staying here again.

Spacious and quite

  • 4 of 5

Spacious, quiet, nicely furnished, comfortable beds. Would give 5 stars if not for the lack of Lawn care and curb appeal. Highly recommended. Will be back👍𣐼􎿻
