|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Our River Retreat is like nothing else you'll find.
We are on the north side of Helen, sitting peacefully by the wonderful Chattahoochee River, under towering trees that have been there for a century, ..... very relaxing, but so close to town you'll be sipping beer or visiting all the fun of Helen in a short 5 minute walk.
We have built a private park just for you right on the river with all the ammenaties you'll need. The kids will never want to go in at night ( after the bonfire's over, the marshmallows are all eaten, and the other fun outdoor activities are done, they'll collapse into bed!)
you can put the chairs right in the river and 'tuber watch' , a great pass time!
All your needs inside have been provided, just don't forget the toothbrushes!
You'll only be sorry you didn't book more days!
This property is for sale in conjunction with the 5 others that surround it-
Keywords: Two distinctive cabins joined together, on the river, to accomodate multi families or just one big happy group!
We are Tim and Cindy Smith, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Tim is a former Vice Mayor of Fort Lauderdale, and Cindy is an accomplished marathon runner with 16 marathons under her belt!. We love the mountains, hiking, exploring, and meeting cool people. We bet that means you!
Cindy Smith purchased this cabin in 2008
....... you know I bet! .... escape the hot summers, revel in the great seasons, relax!
we have the best of two worlds .... quiet and peaceful on the river, but the fun town is just minutes away...... no other place like this in Helen !
Our family stayed for the second time at the double cabins on the river in June 2016 (first time was July 2014). Our ages ranged from 13 months to 67 years and once again we had a great time. The "park" area gave the generations something fun to do any time we weren't tubing on the river, and the location is excellent for people watching! Close enough to walk into town (shout out to Betty's for having nearly everything we forgot!), and we made friends yet again with another multi-time family in one of Tim and Cindy's other cabins. Tim and Cindy are great - they were always responsive to our questions, even if it was just "where's the best pizza in Helen" questions. If you get bored staying here, it's your own fault -- just explore the two cabins and you'll stay charmed!
We had a wonderful stay in The Lodge and The Fisherman's Cabin over the 4th of July weekend. The park on the river is hands down the perfect setting for a group. We had a wonderful time grilling, tubing (very easy access), and drinking beer down by the river. The boys especially loved Cindy's driving range set up. It was my husband's 30th birthday and we were able to all watch a video I had made of all of his friends and family wishing him a Happy Birthday down there too since we had electrical access. It was the definite highlight of the trip! The location is perfect too. We walked into Helen for the fireworks, hung out at a bar after in downtown, and walked home. Half of our group stopped at the go kart place right on the way home and rode golf carts too. Tip: when going into town during high traffic times, come out of the road the cabins are on, take a left, and then take an immediate right on Unicoi I think. There's a grocery and liquor store right there and it takes 3 minutes and no traffic if you go that way. I have no idea how Cindy has the energy to keep us with everything but she manages very well. Side note, she's also absolutely hysterical. She had us all cracking up the second we walked in the door. The cabins are rustic and quirky so know that going in and just go with it. Some of my girlfriends were surprised but they all came around in the end and said they'd definitely want to come back. I think it was nice for us all to get out of our element and be more in touch with nature. The Lodge is where I stayed and will want to stay again but having access to the Fisherman's Cabin is great for grilling and access to the river. It was also perfect for our friends with a small child since he could nap and they were only 50 feet away and had the wifi for their baby monitor so they could keep an eye on him the whole time. The hot tubs are great and very clean, the pool table room at the Lodge was used multiple times, the kitchens have what you need. It's great. We brought a golf cart by the way, which was really helpful in transporting people and food to the river from the Lodge since it's a bit steep. Thanks Cindy for all of your help and for going out of your way to ship my left behind clothes before you left town!!!! She's seriously the best!! She feels like a friend and it shows that others feel that way by all the sweet notes left for her.
We stay at this cabin a week ,there were 5 that arrived on Saturday and 3 others joined us on Monday .This cabin was ok but could be much better if the spider webs and dust all over the upper parts of both cabins where professionally cleaned and debugged ,mostly big wolf spiders ( there were at least 6 killed and had to make sure spider webs were knocked down ) while 4 of us left on Friday evening the other 4 stayed till check out Saturday .There was one vacuum cleaner that started smoking while in use in which it was quickly unplugged and put away ,i must say sorry to Cindy for not alerting her to this but with trying to keep up with grandkids and making sure they packed everything they brought ,it slipped my mind until my daughter in law told me what was said . we still enjoyed the time we spent together . this is all i have to say . Hope future renters enjoy this place .

My family of 10 stayed here for 3 days and 3 nights. We had a good time and Grandpa and Grandma especially enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the tubers. It was so cool and refreshing. Our 10 year old grandboys and 13 year old grandson enjoyed riding their bikes and playing in the river and all enjoyed the tubing. We were all able to stay together if we wished but have our privacy at the same time. Thanks Tim and Cindy for a good time.
We had 5 adults and 5 kids. These cabins were wonderful. Full of history and charm. We could not ask for anything better. The owners went above and beyond. Beautiful place to relax and enjoy life. Wish we could have stayed longer.
