Well Kept Cabin on Toddy Pond- Late July 2017

  • 4 of 5

Great Cabin on Toddy Pond. Cabin sits on the water with small dock and has kayaks on premises. Interior of Cabin is well kept with nice laminate flooring. Cabin has a large bathroom and a well-stocked kitchen. Cabin sits at the end of a longer road but not too long..... the road is rocky but very manageable with even a small car as the road is fairly well kept.

Steve from rental organization that manages the property is quick to respond and it was a pleasure working with him.

Overall a great stay if you are looking to stay on the water's edge.

Wonderful spot!

  • 5 of 5

We got married at our family camp around the corner on 3rd Toddy and held the reception at this camp. We had a small (20 people) gathering and this was the perfect spot for it! The shallow beachy area was perfect for our 2 year old nieces to play in and to launch our kayaks. We spent the week here and really didn't want to leave the serenity of the lake.

Neat and tidy

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is neat and tidy and was perfect for me and my son, and then me and my husband. The kitchen is amply stocked with useful equipment. I enjoyed the screened porch, especially on a rainy day. The manager called me within moments of my arrival to make sure everything was in order. I spent a lot of time reading on the dock and lounging on a float in the lake. Visited Blue Hill a couple of times. Walked to the blueberry barren every morning. I would recommend the property to anyone who is looking for something quiet, clean and simple.

Excellent get-away!

  • 5 of 5

This property is accessible, yet has a remote character. A lot of work has been done on the building, and it is very nice. The kitchen and bathroom/shower were above average - lots of room, and plenty of hot water! Toddy Pond offers lots of interesting shoreline and is excellent for kayaking and fishing. I caught bass from the dock every day.

There are some potential drawbacks if certain things are important to you. First, there is a 1 1/2 mile ride down a hill on a gravel road. But I enjoyed riding my bike up and down it, and had no trouble driving my Mini Cooper in/out. The swimming area is not a sandy beach, but you can swim there just fine. It may not be what you're looking for with young kids. If you truly desire to get away from it all, this is perfect. But don't expect to watch TV or access the Internet. Still, there are ample places nearby for you to connect.

The area is nice, our favorite town being Blue Hill. The climb up Blue Hill itself is also nice. If you enjoy a good brew, try the Black Anchor in town. If you want many more restaurant options, you can easily find them nearby.

Overall, it was a terrific place to vacation and enjoy Maine!
