Excellent suite for our stay moving to Victoria

  • 5 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying at John and Pam’s place upon our move to Victoria from Edmonton. Our Family of 5 (plus Copper :) ) needed a place to stay for a couple of weeks while we waited to get out new home. Being first time VRBO users, this was an extremely positive experience.

The owners have set up a great suite for renters to use. It has essentially a separate entrance and private accommodations. The living space was very large with a great sized living room. All of the amenities you need are there for your stay, from kitchen utensils to laundry essentials. Plus, having arrived later, a nice food starter was left in the fridge for us to enjoy, which was a great touch! You can tell that they care about their guests and provide a suite that is made to accommodate people coming to the area to travel.

The home is also situated in the Gorge area, which has some great walking trails right along the water. As well, I work downtown Victoria and the Inner Harbour, which made it a nice 10 minute drive to that area.

It should also be noted that the Pam and John were very responsive to any requests we had – before our arrival and during our stay. Thank you for the great introduction to the place we now call home!!

Very welcoming wonderful place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

Amazing hosts, very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again. We felt immediately at home and were thankful for the quiet neighborhood. The house was close to a shopping center which made things easier when we needed emergancy items. There was a park down the road for our children. The house was fully equipped with all we could need for our stay. The suite was in great condition. We would highly recommend this suite!

Couldn't be happier!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four(myself, wife, two kids) just spent a week and a half here while vacationing to beautiful Victoria. John and Pam's place did not disappoint! It was such a relaxing place to wind down in the evening after many busy days. The rental was spotless, comfortable, and well equipped with everything we needed, new appliances, and they made sure we had the essentials for the next day's breakfast/coffee. This was our first experience with a vacation rental over the usual hotels, but I can tell you that they set the bar extremely high, and will be very hard to beat for us in the future. We couldn't have asked for better hosts or a better place to call home for our time there! Thanks John and Pam, hope to see you again some day!

The Perfect Place to Stay in Victoria

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for almost an entire month when moving to Victoria. We are a family with two children ages four and six. We really feel that we were really lucky to have chosen this place. It was the perfect "landing pad" for our new lives in Victoria.

First, the place: The location is great - it's a short walk from the Gorge Waters, which is great for morning strolling. About 200 meters down the hill, there's a great little play park for children. And, a short distance from that, there's Colquitz Creek Park, which is a forested grove where you can see owls, rabbits and much more. A 10-minute walk through that park brings you to a full shopping mall. And, it is a five-minute drive to downtown Victoria.

The suite is spacious - much more spacious than we had imagined. There was plenty of room for us all to spread out. The bathroom is clean and light and there is a good bathtub, which is useful for bathing the kids. The house is near the top of a hill and has a big picture window that offers views to the west. We loved the late afternoons and evenings when a magical light filled the place. Best of all the place was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed to live for a month.

There is a huge TV and they have a great cable plan, which includes Shomi (on-demand videos etc). There is a LOT available for free and the cartoons and movies were lifesaver when we had to entertain the kids.

The hosts, Pam and John, were the perfect hosts. They struck the perfect balance in terms of paying attention to us. They gave us lots of tips about Victoria and life here, but they also knew when we needed our space. By the end of our stay, we felt that they had really become our friends.

Frankly, I cannot imagine a better place to stay in Victoria. I definitely plan on putting family and friends up there when they visit us here in Victoria. Thus, I highly recommend John and Pam's place!

Hidden Gem

  • 4 of 5

My wife, son, grandson and I stay at this beautiful spacious and well equipped suite for 3 weeks all together. John and Pam greeted us on arrival. To our surprise Pam had arrange for some basic supplies so we didn't have to rush to the store. The suite is located in an ideal quiet area of Victoria. The suite is designed to take advantage of natural daylight. There is a nicely secluded backyard with BBQ. Frequent bus service is nearby also it is a quick access to roads leading to shopping mall, Western community or downtown. There is a kid's playground a short walk away and hiking trails around Colquizt creek that has been rehabilitated for salmon spawning. All in all, we appreciated John and Pam's friendliness and their eagerness to provide information. We would go back again anytime.
