About Jon and Felicia

We love to travel and have lived in the US, UK and Europe, but this is the first place that feels comfortable, welcoming, relaxing and home!

Jon and Felicia purchased this villa in 2008

Why Jon and Felicia chose Loreto

We love Loreto because it's so laid back yet has all the amenities. It's the anti-Cabo.

What makes this villa unique

The clear warm dry weather. Your blood pressure drops a few steps within an hour of arriving.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just enjoyed an amazing week in Loreto, where the desert meets the sea! A 2 hour flight from la and a world away! Loreto is everything that Cabo is not: quiet, small, authentic (no Walmart, no fast food, one stop light). But even in off season we found lovely restaurants serving yummy, inexpensive meals, and lots of friendly, helpful people.

The neighborhood where the house is located (Loreto Bay) is about 5 miles south of the town in one of the prettiest developments I have ever seen. Gorgeous adobe style villas centered around immaculately landscaped courtyards- every turn offered another charming vista.

The Villa Encantada is in the middle of it all- 2 minutes walking to either of the pools and 3 minutes to the beach, the hotel next door, the golf course and some small shops and cafes.

The house itself is beautifully decorated with all the conveniences of a 5 star hotel including WiFI and cable TV, but so much more charming. If you are considering the Loreto Bay Hotel next door, don't! This place is so much better and you have access to the hotel services anyway.

The house's two bedrooms are both very private so ideal for 2 couples and with the 2 stories there is simply a lot of space to enjoy. The master suite includes an over sized tub and an outdoor shower- my favorites!

Be sure to take a boat trip to the outlying islands (organized by Vive Loreto office in the Loreto Bay village); have a massage by Lili (also in LB Village) and have at least one meal prepared by local Chef Marisol, as recommended by owner.

Both the owner and on-site manager (us ex-pat) were wonderful to work with and made me feel "at home" from the moment I booked.

One of my best vacations ever! I am already planning my next visit!

Beautiful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This is a fantastic place to stay when traveling with other couples. I loved that the bedrooms are totally separate from living area. Loved the tower great place to hang out and read. Convenient location right on street, and no traffic noise. Property manager and Owner very responsive to any problems. Location, short walk to beach and pools. Cant wait to come back!

Lovely villa with three levels

  • 4 of 5

Great location only minutes from Loreto Bay. Good wifi but TV only worked some of the time.

Lighting in main area very dim, not bright enough for me. Come after mid October if you want to have more places open for eating and shopping. We were limited by only one place to eat-The Inn at Loreto Bay and the food and service was very inconsistent. Had several experiences where they would not give us a dinner menu only snacks. Ordered one specific breakfast two days with three egg whites on tomatoes with cheese and the second time received only one egg white and no tomato or cheese. Wonderful community with supportive helpful people all around. The beach and water are the best part.

Owner's Response: Hi Sarah, I am sorry there were not a lot of places open for you in our neighborhood, and that the hotel did not provide the service you should have received. The town of Loreto is a 10 minute drive away and there are dozens of restaurants and bars and historic sites, and most everything is open there year round. Yes, the beach and the water are amazing and we are only a 3 minute walk away. Glad you liked our home and the location. Hope you will come back again!

Lovely Villa

  • 5 of 5

Nicely appointed, very clean and comfortable. This is our third trip to Loreto Bay and would highly recommend this villa for its location to pools and restaurants – perfect for two couples. The property manager was very responsive and the owner was very easy to work with. We are already looking forward to planning our next visit to the area.

Less than 400 feet to the beach and Sea of Cortez with all the amenities of the Inn at Loreto Bay. The hotel pool is a 5 minute walk with shade palapas, kayak rentals, swim up bar and beach. The homeowners salt water pool is just across the street and great for little ones.. The hotel has restaurants, spa, workout facilities, chairs and often spanish lessons, water aerobics and other activities from time to time. Our home is walking distance to 3 restaurants, a wine bar, two coffee shops, groceries, kayak/snorkel rentals, fishing, golf, and tennis.

The town of Loreto is an authentic Mexican village complete with historic sites, restaurants, shops, bars, marina with fishing excursions, scuba/snorkel and whale-watching excursions, desert mountains with lots of off-roading and hiking.
