Beautiful 3-BDRM Cottage Home on the St. Lawrence River!
Authentic mid-century modern 3-bedroom cottage with amazing river views and sandy beach access on Ogdensburg's most desirable street in the heart of the Thousand Islands on the St Lawrence River.
If you have fond memories of spending the summer unwinding on the river at your great aunt's home, with bass fishing, ship-watching, peaceful mornings and unbeatable sunsets, this is the place for you. No TV, but plenty of board games, puzzles, and wifi included as well as modern conveniences like a dishwasher and full size laundry machines. Outdoor table and chairs, as well as hammocks and fishing poles, are available upon request.
Three cozy bedrooms--two with queen beds, and the third with bunkbeds ideal for your kiddos--complete with crisp linens, blankets and towels that are provided at no additional charge. One and a half baths (full bath upstairs, and solo toilet downstairs). Fans are provided in all rooms and there are screens on all windows--we sleep at night with the windows open and the house stays quite comfortable due to the river breeze.
Less than a mile to Aldi, Price Chopper, Lowes and Walmart make it ideally located for all your vacation needs. Five minute drive to the bridge to Canada and 45 minute drive to Ottawa.

Our basement is unfinished- the basement has exposed ceilings and a rough concrete floor with full-sized laundry with washer and dryer.
The kitchen is fully stocked with pans, cooking utensils, a blender, and dishware for 6. There are also cooking basics like spices, flour, etc. and we ask that you replace anything that you finish up. Coffee maker with filters and coffee for a few days are also provided as a courtesy to get you started.
Walking outside toward the river you'll find a large deck (16 x 28) overlooking the St Lawrence River with stairs leading down to the water. Our bay has shallow water and a sandy bottom that only gets about 3' deep even when you go out 100' (in the summer). The bay is perfect to kayaking, but you must bring your own.
Garbage service is provided but guests are responsible for putting all garbage and recycling in the cans and helping with pickup on garbage day. We have garbage pick up Friday's at 6AM, so guests must place the garbage and recycling cans at the street near the driveway. There is a $50 garbage fee if any garbage is left inside the house.
There is plenty of parking in front, including room to park a bass boat and trailer on the adjacent parking pad. The Patterson Street launch is a 5 minute drive from the house.
We have a BBQ available, but guests are responsible for their own propane which can be purchased at the Walmart's Blue Rhino tank exchange.
Since this is our home, there are some areas that are off limits to guests, which have been marked as "owner's." The garage is also off-limits to guests.
Just a reminder that this home is on the water and in the country, which means there are bugs, birds, rabbits, foxes, etc. You'll also notice bugs and spiders outside. We have intentionally chosen not to spray for spiders or bugs since we have children who play in the yard.
NOTE: Minimum 4 day rental. Maximum Capacity is 4 Guests, with a qualified exception for kids under 5.

We loved the location and the house! It has so much charm and character. The only concern we had was the weather! An unpredictable variant, it was hot during our visit and the lovely house doesn't have AC. There are fans in the rooms that help to keep the air moving. We would definitely stay here again in spite of the weather. Thank you so much for helping to make our stay enjoyable!

Esther- thank you for the kind words and we look forward to having you as a regular guest!
Lovely house on the water.
We stayed a couple nights while visiting our son at St Lawrence University and it was just a quick drive.
Great place for a family to stay and relax. You can tell that the home is well loved by the owners as well. It almost makes you feel like you are staying with family.
I would definitely recommend!
(And the owner and property manager were super responsive. We were coming in very late so they made sure to keep a couple lights on.)

Absolutely a horrible experience-Avoid at all costs! I have never left a review like this before but this stay was unacceptable from the moment we walked in. The home smelled of mold and sewage. We also discovered a soft spot in the floor that felt unsafe. As if that weren't enough there were signs of mice and the wiring was outdated. Because of the condition we had to scramble to find last minute lodging which was very stressful. Despite all the issues the owner refused to give us a full refund, thankfully the people at Vrbo made it right!

Mrs. Randall - truly sorry your experience was not what you expected, and happy you went with your backup plan you shared & stayed with family. As always, cleaners were hired before your arrival. Beforehand, you requested a booking change; we accommodated and you changed your mind. We knew you had a long drive late at night. So, we had the property managers to turn on lights for the driveway / house, so that you felt comfortable and welcomed. You wrote me at 9:56 pm and mentioned "mildew...and a terrible smell of fish..." but in your review, you mentioned "sewage." Regardless of what was bothering you, I wrote you back before 4:00am the next morning and shared that both managers would stop by in the morning. Neither Mike or Sheila could smell anything: mildew, fish, or sewage. Additionally, I asked my neighbor Connor to stop by for a third opinion. Again, nothing to report other than a fish-smell coming from the beach down below on the St. Lawrence River. I believed you when you wrote "I know you are not going to give me a full refund but I hope that you would be willing to compromise." So, I offered you a "refund of $227.17 which is roughly equal to 1/3 of the rental," but you promptly rejected that as well and said that I could be put "under far more legal and financial constraints." Now, you are thankful that "the people at Vrbo made it right" by giving you a $133 refund. I am baffled. The positive reviews from all guests before you are clear 12/2025
