This was an amazing and unique experience for our team! Knowing we would be swamped in work, this VRBO was an excellent way to unwind at the end of long days. Our host was especially courteous and patient with us. This made our experience so much more enjoyable and gave us the opportunity to connect together while having our own space to unwind. Highly recommend!
We stayed here for my son's bachelor party/trip. Plenty of room for everyone, and the pool was a nice amenity. Less than half an hour to the casino. Would definitely stay here again.
This is a great VRBO. Great location, nice pool, very clean, plenty of room for all 10 of us. we could spread out and had different rooms to sit and visit.
Beautiful and very spacious home! So cozy and comfortable, the perfect spot for our family gathering. Neil was very responsive and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend this home to others!
THE POTS AND PANS TO COOK IN ARE OLD EVERYTHING STICKS, NOT A VARIETY OF THINGS TO COOK IN, THE HOST MORGAN WAS RUDE, REFUSED TO BRING US MORE TOILET PAPER, THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS KIND OF SHADY WITH PEOPLE WALKING AROUND IN THE ALLEY, AND PEEKING THRU THE FENCE. I ASKED THE HOST MORGAN IF SHE WOULD CONSIDER A PARTIAL REFUND AND SHE REFUSED,SHE TOLD US SHE WOULD BRING MORE TOILET PAPER ON FRIDAY, THEN ON FRIDAY SAID SHE WASNT SUPPLYING ANYMORE SUPPLIES, IVE NEVER STAYED AT A VRBO THAT HAD A HOST AS RUDE AS MORGAN.

We had the experience of hosting this group for a family gathering over Christmas. After day 3 of being unable to locate items on the property like trash bags and toilet paper, our Co-Host arrived to find them and give them the remaining amount left available for this group. Upon arrival, our Co-Host noticed an animal present on the property in the master bedroom double doors.
This cutie was not mentioned to either the Owner or the Co-Host we have available prior to arriving. When a service charge of $100 was added to board him/her 3 nights into their 5 night stay, she stated it was service animal and has traveled without mentioning her to others before with no issues, being unwilling to pay. We happily accommodate service animals if made aware prior to arrival for our cleaners and upcoming guests safety, however no mention was made prior to finding/see the animal present inside. Up until this charge was sent, she claimed to have had a great time with her family at our home.
The day before their check out, she claimed to have made a list of items she came up to be more than unhappy with and threatened to send it to support if we did not get more toilet paper and offer a partial refund. At that time, we had told her to add not enough toilet paper to the list of items she was unsatisfied with and that we would not be coming out to supply more and told her we are normally very eager to keep our guests stocked and happy, but not under threats and means of effecting our status with this app....the most absurd being not having the outdoor seasonal pool open when it’s in fact winterized for the year, gate locked and unable to be used from Oct-April and not allowing unmentioned animals on the property.
The day after her stay she asked for a partial refund stating her stay was not what they expected and was now unhappy with the trip. The following morning, she filed a chargeback with her credit card company in the amount of almost 3/4 of her entire 5 night stay and now have a case filed against her to retrieve all but the $100 if the pet if she can provide the case with supporting evidence of a service animal. $2800 of her $4000 stay was withdrawn from our account for this incident. This has been a very long ordeal and will be ongoing for 4-6 weeks until it is resolved.
We stayed for the weekend To attend Marian Day in Carthage, MO. The house was perfect for us. It was clean, cute and comfortable. The host promptly replied to our questions and very professional.
Will definitely stay here again next time!
Loved the house, enjoyed everything.
Just a couple suggestions, 1) having extra towels available for the pool 2) the movie room needs to have streaming available, we don’t have dvds and couldn’t use the movie.
What a cool property. Train theme stained glass windows were beautiful. Very clean and well appointed. Had fun with theater room and ping pong table. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Medical school graduation celebration 🎓 for friends and family! We could not have picked a better venue. This magnificent property was the icing on the cake! Thank you for making our event perfect!
We converged from all over the US for our son’s wedding and this was the idea house to hold us all. The owners were very responsive and accommodating. The furnishings nice and that kitchen???? Gorgeous. The younger crowd loved the arcade. Admittedly, the open concept bathrooms were strange. The kitchen counters were a little dirty and we we really wish it had been warmer to enjoy the pool. The parking is great! Overall, we had an amazing stay and would book here again!
My family and I traveled to Joplin from Houston, X
TX to visit my son in college for the Spring Scrimmage! It was very clean and we felt right at home! It was so spacious and had everyone had their own room. The home had everything we needed! I definitely will recommend this property to others. Thank you for sharing your home with us .
This house was absolutely stunning. We hosted our spring conference in Joplin Missouri and had eight board members staying in one house. It was more than spacious and had more than enough bathrooms for eight females to comfortably spend three nights without fighting over space or bathrooms. Couldn’t have asked for a more amazing place. Hoping to find a reason to rent again in the future!
Property was big and accommodating. Everything was easy accept finding it. It is tucked back and a little difficult to find, but it’s a diamond in the rough. I wish we had the history easily available. The charm and historical vibe really had the whole group intrigued. Thank you for sharing your great home with us.
We originally lived in Joplin and raised 2 of our 4 children but moved away after the Joplin tornado in May 2011. We were excited to find out upon planning a return trip to the area that we could stay in this storied and well known landmark. Our children loved the train themes. The home is beautiful inside and out with lots of indoor and outdoor space to spread out. Our favorite things were the pool and the huge selection of books and reading materials in the library / study. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment and the hosts were great to deal with. Quick and clear communication and accommodations are top notch. We will definitely stay here again!
