Experience the Best of Colorado from your Rustic Creekside Cabin!

Bedrooms 1
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

1 bedroom, one bath cabin. Sleeps up to 3.

Experience Colorado to it's fullest from your authentic Rocky Mountain Cabin! Steps from the rushing creek in a pristine forest, leave the cares of the world behind and discover a true Colorado Rocky Mountain Vacation.

Nestled in a majestic canyon setting among tall pines and giant aspen trees is The Call of the Canyon. Located at 8,900 feet above sea level on private land surrounded by Arapaho National Forest. West Chicago Creek runs through the entire property with many waterfalls and feeds a natural pool filled with pan sized rainbow and brook trout. The creek is literally just a few feet from your door, and can be seen and heard from your cabin.

Secluded yet convenient, rustic with modern comforts, only 40 minutes to downtown Denver and less than one hour from DIA. Just 6 miles to the nearby historic mountain town of Idaho Springs, and yet so far away.

Vintage 1950's cabin is ideally suited for a romantic getaway. There is NO television, telephone, internet or stress!

Fully furnished, well equipped, and tastefully decorated in a rustic cabin theme, our cabin features 1 bedroom and 1 bath, exterior log siding, full knotty pine interior, and hardwood floors throughout.

A large moss-rock wood burning fireplace is the focal point in the main room which consists of a living area with futon and rocking chair facing the fireplace, a well stocked full kitchen, and eating area which faces a large picture window framing panoramic canyon and river views.

The bedroom has a comfortable queen-size log bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower. A full size futon in the living area sleeps extra guests. There are many outdoor seating areas situated along the creek. Enjoy relaxing in the hammock or log bench on the secluded island next to a waterfall. Unobstructed canyon and mountain views offer spectacular night skyscapes.

Situated on a quiet, well-maintained county road with easy year round access. Just five hundred yards off the Mount Evans Scenic Byway and halfway between Idaho Springs and Echo Lake. Drive the highest paved road in the Northern Hemisphere which leads you to The Call of the Canyon.

This is where the Colorado Gold Rush began in 1859! You can still explore working mines and pan for gold and gemstones or discover abandoned ghost towns nearby. The cabin is located on an historic gold and mineral mining claim. There were never any actual mines on the property, but you might get lucky panning for gold in the creek!

FOUR 14,00+ foot peaks to explore nearby: Mt. Evans, Mt. Bierstadt, Gray's & Torrey's Peaks. World Class skiing at more than 6 major ski areas, all within 20 minutes to less than an hour away! Colorado's newest ski area, Echo Mountain Park, is only 12 miles from your cabin and offers night skiing. Enjoy shopping and dining in the nearby mountain towns of Idaho Springs, Georgetown and Evergreen.

For serious adventure seekers, take a whitewater rafting trip on one of the steepest raftable waterways in the nation, moments away and still one of Colorado's best kept secrets. Or try one of several new Zip Lines close by. Miles of wilderness trails surround the cabin. Fish, Hike, Bike, Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe right from your door!

After a day of exploring the abundance of activities nearby, come home to the comfort of your cozy mountain cabin. Stoke up a crackling fire in the big stone fireplace, a feature you're sure to enjoy year round at this altitude! Later, the warmth of your log feather bed, made up with cozy flannel linens awaits. Let the sounds of the babbling creek just outside your window lull you into a deep and restful slumber. Wake up refreshed and enjoy your morning coffee creek side while catching a glimpse of the many species of birds and wildlife who make this beautiful setting home. Cross the wooden footbridge to the secluded island and read or nap from the hammock while listening to the waterfall. Enjoy a glass of wine from one of the many creek side seating areas while watching an incredible red sky sunset reflecting from the canyon wall. Now isn't this what a true Colorado cabin vacation is all about?

RATES: $165/night based upon double occupancy. For one additional guest maximum add $25.00 per night. 2 night minimum stay

This place is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Total serenity, total beauty, total package. Mary is awesome. There is nothing bad to say. If you’re a stress case and you want your getaway to reflex that, then this is not the place for you. Alternatively, if your wanting to disconnect and recharge, you won’t find a better option and the price is more than fair. ENJOY!!

Thanks Mary!!!

It is the best unplug experience you can pay for.

  • 5 of 5

Get some groceries a flash light. Stop at the trout pond on the way. The next morning get up at 6 eat breakfast and head to mt Evans. This will be a great start to your vacation. Mary has really done an amazing job with this cabin. I would spend the rest of my long life right at this cabin. There is a humming bird feeder and 10 or so humming birds visit every day. Enjoy we sure did

Quaint and peaceful place to unplug

  • 5 of 5

Clean, cozy cabin with all that you need. Mary was a lovely host. So many sweet spots to unwind by the creek. Then inside you get to watch the sweet hummingbirds from your large window framing the gorgeous view. A lovely spot to sit by the fire. Or enjoy the sauna. Not too far from Echo Lake Park and Idaho Springs. A great place to rest, relax and disconnect from all the noise.
