Quiet, peaceful

  • 4 of 5

This home is located in a really nice place with a great view. It's a bit rough getting up to it as the signs are small and faded...do not attempt to find at night. It is a very cozy home. Shop before you get here and you need everything to cook a complete tasteful meal with except salt and pepper. It is supplied with basic utensils to prepare a meal and eat on and drink. I have visited several cabins in North Carolina and this one was the least stocked we have stayed so that was a bit disappointing. Most of the cabins have the "use it, replace it" honor system. This cabin felt more like a spring hill suites with fewer people. The hot tub was great overlooking the stars and seeing the lighting bugs. They do provide a few movies and a couple of games and books but not much of a selection. The two way fireplace was fantastic but set it in the opposite room you are in so you don't hear the ticking of the timer.

Beautiful, spacious cabin.

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for our family of 4. We used the grill, the hottub, and the firepit. There was plenty of firewood and propane. Cabin was clean and we loved sitting on the deck each night. We spent most days at the NOC, which was only 10 minutes away. The cabin is super secluded and we will definitely come back.

Hard to find due to poor signage but comfortable, lovely, clean house, spectacular view.

  • 4 of 5

The house is not well marked and was very difficult to find especially if coming in at night. For 45 minutes, we drove around the steep hills/ gravel roads, skidding in the gravel/mud (due to heavy rain the day before) near dangerous cliffs. It was frightening. The house address is listed as 314...but there is no sign for that number. There is a small sign at the end of the driveway that says 326 that was covered by tall grass. Next to the "326" sign is a small sign that is was not visible at night as also covered by tall grass, that reads "Falling Waters" - the house name. It is a steep drive. It is too bad more effort isn't taken to help visitors find the house, it is an easy fix to put up a visible/reflective "314" sign. That said, the house was beautiful, comfortable, very clean, and well supplied. The view is beautiful from the porch and the running water outside is a lovely sound to fall asleep to. Fireplace in the bedroom and living room was special.

Great home, away from home

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was very clean and had everything that we expected for a home, away from home. It is close to NOC and the AT trail which is where we spent most of out time away from the cabin. The cabin itself has a large front porch with a good view and it was a very peaceful setting. We made use of the fire pit outside and with the exception of the air conditioning unit it felt like camping. The inside of the house is comfortable and there is enough kitchen ware to cook most items and we ate every meal on the trip at the house. In addition the beds are comfortable, the washer and dryer work well. As recommended prior to arrival I would go grocery shopping before arriving at the house, as the grocery store is a little bit of a drive (we used Ingles in Bryson City, NC). I would recommend this home and will look to use it again if traveling back to the area.
