Oasis!

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful straw bale is an oasis in the desert. Simple with gorgeous landscaping, my family of four (two teenage boys) felt like we were on retreat. Just far enough outside of town to escape the hustle and bustle of Moab while being close enough for anything we needed. Our one year old pup felt very at home too. When we weren't hiking or biking we were napping or just enjoying the views. Did all of our cooking here as I couldn't get anyone to leave and go out to eat. Highly recommend this place!

An eco-oasis in Moab!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Moab Pearl. A quite location not far from town and from the primary entrances for Arches and Canyonlands. We appreciated Steve & Moe's environmentally conscientious home and many touches. The two bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for our visit with my brother. We especially loved sitting on the front porch and soaking in the hot tub after a long day of hiking.

À perfect family retreat in moab

  • 5 of 5

As a family of four we enjoyed very much our stay in the house. As we were doing half-day excursions we had plenty of time to enjoy the house and felt very much at home. We would highly recommend it whithout any reserve.

PERFECT place to stay for our family

  • 5 of 5

It was such a gift to stay at the Moab Pearl. All the spaces are comfortable and attractive without being over the top. The beautiful landscaping, with eating areas on three sides of the house, allows you to eat outdoors in the shade at any time of day. The views are stunningly beautiful - alpine peaks on one side, red rock rim on another, crazy canyons off yet another side. The home is very quiet and restful inside. The kitchen has everything you need. Our kids loved sleeping in the loft. It felt like home to all of us, so much so that the kids always asked to come back to the house for dinner rather than eating out. The location is perfect for reaching Arches, Canyonlands, Dead Horse Point State Park, and the town of Moab. I also loved staying basically right at the Hidden Valley trailhead. I did that trail run early on several mornings when we were there. Couldn't recommend this place more.

overall very good

  • 4 of 5

The home is well kept and was very clean. We arrived in Moab a couple hours early and decided to see if the house was ready for us. It was not... We met the woman who cleans (and her sweet dog). She said the people who left that day had left very late and we should come back later which was fine.

When we arrived back it was after dark and the only issue was that some of the lighting didn't work. We couldn't figure how to turn on a front porch light and some switches in the LR weren't working. Also the switches going into each bedroom did not turn on a light. Of the four of us staying; three are engineers so we found some extra bulbs and tried that first. Turns out one of the breakers was tripped and that did fix some of the issues but not all. Still no lighting with the switches going into the bedrooms.

My husband and I took the MB and our friends took the 2nd bedroom and hall bath. The only little creature comforts I'd suggest: add a mirror in the 2nd bedroom and a hair dryer into the hall bath. Both are present in the MB.

The hot tub was lovely after a day of hiking and we really enjoyed the patio area. Mornings were great watching all the birds and critters wake up for the day. Saw a great variety of birds, some nesting right near the patios, probably 8-10 quail, rabbits, hummingbirds and more.

Very convenient to all Moab has to offer.

Owner's Response: Thanks for that input, we will add a mirror in the bedroom and add an extra hair dryer, that's the first request for that but a good one! Sorry about the lights. As you can see they are well labeled because we have a lot of 3 way switches (with dimmers) which is confusing. We had the dimmers removed from 2 of each of the 3 ways . . . it was NOT intuitive. We just bought the mother of all ladders so we can change bulbs more easily in those super high ceilings. We will run through each light this week and make sure they are all working. Steve and Moe
