About the host
Hosted by Jo
We are full-time ranchers who believe in the importance of stewardship. We strive to be conscientious managers of the livestock that we care for (cows, sheep and goats), the land and the soils that offer a diverse variety of fresh and nutritionally-rich forages for our livestock to graze, and the purity of the air and the water that surrounds us. We work together as a family, enjoying the rich fellowship and the unique joys of a lifestyle that is filled with honest work, fresh air, sunshine, nature, wide spaces, and old-fashioned values. We enjoy hosting because it gives us an opportunity to share the beauty of the land that surrounds us here in the Ozarks.
Why they chose this property
Our ranch consists of approximately 500 acres of river valley, rolling pasture, and the surrounding hills and forests of the Ozarks. We do have neighbors, but they are a good ways off. The beautiful Osage Fork River wraps around and through the ranch, offering wonderful opportunities for floating and fishing. Villa sits at the very center of the ranch, in a private world of its own, with panoramic views of the valley and the distant hills and forests. Eagles, coyotes, deer, rabbits, hawks, and occasional mountain lions, bobcat, and bears frequent this valley. The town of Drynob was located on this very land from ~1835 to 1957, during which time Civil War soldiers collected their government paychecks at the Post Office that still stands, and Cherokee Indians, who were part of the infamous Trail of Tears, crossed this land and made their encampments here. The land in this valley is rich in history and a rugged type of beauty that is unique to the Ozarks.
What makes this property unique
We make it possible for our guests to step away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the comforts of a finely appointed home that is surrounded on all sides by panoramic views and comfortable outdoor living spaces. Villa will fill your cup to overflowing with beautiful vistas, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, restful nights, cooling breezes, warm campfires, brilliant star-gazing, river floats and/or fishing, images of the history that took place long ago in this beautiful valley, peace and quiet, and an array of activities that this area of the Ozarks is known for.
