Location is less than desirable
When on vacation, location is important. And Reviews are important! This listing has 2 reviews only and there were no comments, so I feel it is important to be accurate here. While this listing boasts of it's close distance to various DC attractions, it is in a neighborhood and on a street corner that did not make me or my family feel safe. There are people lined up all along the street from noon well into the hours past midnight. We happened to be there during the week of July 4th so fireworks were shot off multiple nights. Police are on regular patrol and sirens go all night. The kitchen is stocked with basic dishes however, there are no oven mitts, or kitchen towels. The bathroom is stocked with small towels and some were torn or stained. The couch is not a couch and it is listed as a sleeper sofa(sleeps 8) but it is a futon. The table in the kitchen had loose legs and was not sturdy enough to eat on. And the private balcony with stunning views was overgrown with grass and not very pleasing to the eyes. The sky at sunset was beautiful but I would not boast of stunning or private views. I gave it 2 stars because other than the points listed above it is an accurate depiction of the apartment itself. The beds, pillows, and linens were very comfortable, and the host was quick to respond to my questions. The price was reasonable as we were offered a discount, however I would not have paid the original listing price.
