Excellent value. When I return to Boston, I will be here.
The owner was very prompt in responding to rental inquiry that I appreciated with exceptional customer service. The property was immaculate and the perfect location for shopping and dining nearby. There were so many excellent restaurants nearby that it was difficult to choose where to eat. Mistral was the best place for brunch. We used public transportation and was glad that the metro was nearby for our visit to the city.
If it is raining or snowing, a senior would need some assistance to go in and out of the property.
The Apple has hosted my family on two occasions. I look forward to the next stay...whenever that might be.
The apartment was comfortable and well equipped. There were 3 adults in my party, so the sleeper sofa was used, and I had a good night's sleep! One bathroom had its challenges, but nothing that a good schedule couldn't overcome. This accommodation would be best suited for one or two compatible couples ;P. The brownstone neighborhood was delightful--clean, close to restaurants, bakery, shopping center and the "hop on/hop off' bus tour! It was easy walking distance to Boston Commons and the botanical garden. Boston is a beautiful city and the Parlor Suite is a great place to stay and enjoy the best of Boston!
Being able to stay in this charming property was one of the highlights of our trip to Boston. We had four adults on this vacation, and it could not have been any better for us. It is located within walking distance of almost everything we had planned. The walks were enjoyable and easy. Wonderful restaurants, bakeries, cafes nearby. Ingrid was amazing to work with. She communicated very well with us ahead of our stay making sure we knew exactly what to do. She also double checked with us during our stay to make sure everything was working out just right. We loved the property so much ... that we stayed two nights, went on a cruise, then came back to stay again for two additional days upon our return to Boston. We highly recommend this wonderful property to anyone who is coming to Boston. Based on our great experience, you can be confident you will have a fabulous place to stay if you come here! Well done, Ingrid. Thank you so much!
Note that the doorknob on the front door is decorative only. This unit suited us, and our budget, much better than a hotel room.
Pros - Terrific location close to the subway and Appleton Cafe and Bakery, well-stocked kitchenette, lovely decor, extremely comfortable bed.
Cons - The bed is a double, not a queen. The air conditioner is in the bottom of a window right next to the head of the bed. For us, this was no problem at all--it might be for a light sleeper. Though there is ample dishware (over a dozen bowls alone), and there are 6 chairs, there is no table--no place to enjoy coffee and the paper, a game, or a bite to eat. The owner is not great with communication. It took days to get replies to emails and though we were told to pack up by noon and that we could leave our bags until 4:00 we returned to the unit about 11:30 a.m., after picking up coffee, to find a man in our unit cleaning.
