♡♡ We like to call it "The DocHouse" as it was the first Doctor's house in the area, owned by Dr. Thomas Russell, and built around 1895. The garage was even used as a stable for the horse and carriages to make house calls. We fell in love with the top-floor apartment, decided to do some updates, and share it with everyone! We call that one "The Clara Bell", named in honor of the doctor's wife. You can find that listing on VRBO too! That went well, so we decided to completely renovate the next apartment down and call it "The Thomas Grand" in honor of Dr. Thomas Russell. We hope you enjoy its unique character, original wood floors, views, and the attention to detail and decor throughout as much as we do!

♡♡ The DocHouse Suites are located in downtown Grand Rapids, MN, within a short walk to the NEW Brewery (Rapids Brewing Co.) and the NEW Winery (Unwined Up North) as well as many local shops and coffee shops like The Lake & Co. and Brewed Awakening plus many more!

♡♡ We are also located just 5 miles from the NEW Tioga Recreation Area with some of the states best mountain biking trails and many more being built! We are also less than a mile from the Mesabi Trail entrance at the Fairgrounds for great views and more leisurely, long distance riding! Ride for the day, enjoy downtown at night!

⇨ This is a multi-unit building, please be respectful of other guests/tenants and keep noise to a minimum (quiet hours are between 10pm-8am)

⇨ Extra guest fees will be charged if additional bedrooms are used than initially indicated or if more than noted guests stay the night as cleaning/laundry costs go up

⇨ No parties

⇨ No Smoking on Property (includes balcony & outside all the way to the street, no exceptions, if smoke is smelled guest will be charged accordingly)

⇨ Suite is on the 2nd floor with great views but does require the guest to climb a set of stairs

⇨ Laundry is available in the basement down some stairs and is $1 (quarters) per load (detergent pods provided in unit), it is also shared with other guests in the building and is first come first serve

⇨ There is no cable TV but we do provide a smart TV to sign into your favorite streaming services as well as a long HDMI cable

⇨ Please remove shoes when entering the suite

⇨ We love kids so please be careful of the stairs right outside both doors to the suite as well as some cleaning supplies in the suite

⇨ An early check in or late check out may be optional for additional fee and due to booking availability.

⇨ Please be sure to review all house rules when booking!

~~~~HOUSE RULES~~~~~
House rules ensure your stay is enjoyable because the previous guests followed them as well! They also ensure the hosts continue enjoying VRBO and thrive to provide a clean satisfying experience for you as well as protect both hosts and guests! Rules enforced respectfully and within reason after hearing guests out! : )

⇨ Photographs and video are taken of the suite prior to your stay with timestamps for proof to VRBO if something is broken, ruined, extra messy, etc. to prevent fraud. If something is broken etc. upon arrival, please let us know right away.

⇨ This is a multi-unit building, please be respectful of other guests/tenants and keep noise to a minimum. (quiet hours are between 10pm-8am) Guests disrupting other guest stays in other units will be asked to leave with no refund after one warning.

⇨ Extra Guest Fees: Guests will be charged if additional bedrooms are used than indicated on the original reservation or if more than noted guests stay the night(s), as cleaning/laundry costs go way up. All guests must be declared on original reservation or approved before stay. --$30/day per extra bed used or extra undeclared guest.

⇨ An early check in or late check out may be optional for additional fee and due to booking availability.

⇨ No parties, photoshoots, or events, without host approval prior to stay.

⇨ No Smoking on Property--$300/day charge if violated. No exceptions. (includes balcony, porch, lobby, & outside all the way to the street)

⇨ No Pets on Property--$300 min charge plus any damages, per stay if violated. No exceptions.

⇨ Additional Cleaning Fee: If suite is left excessively dirty after checkout, beyond what a courteous guest would normally leave a space in, an extra cleaning fee will be charged of a minimum of $50 or more depending on excessiveness of mess. Examples, but not limited to: Excessive dirty pots and pans, dirty or stained floors/walls, stained pillows/sheets/comforters/furniture etc., excessive amounts of trash or waste, stains, messes, spills, or any other unreasonable cleaning etc.

⇨ Guests will also be charged for any unreasonably ruined or stained items. (i.e. Make-up stains on towels etc.)

⇨ Suite is on the 2nd floor with great views but does require the guest to climb a set of stairs.

⇨ Laundry is available in the basement and is $1 (quarters) per load (detergent pods provided in unit). It is also shared with other guests in the building.

⇨ Any house rules violation is grounds for immediate termination of reservation with no refund at the discretion of the hosts. Guests may be required to vacate premise, when asked, for breaking house rules, as seen fit by the host, that comply with the law and VRBO policy and will be considered trespassers. Again, the rules are enforced respectfully and within reason after hearing guests out! : )
