About Michael Drew

Now retired and loving it. We have owned this place for over 20 years. We offer it for rent when we are not using it ourselves. It is a wonderful home and well maintained.

Michael Drew purchased this house in 1995

Why Michael Drew chose Lake Tahoe North Shore CA

We love being up in the Sierra mountains and especially Lake Tahoe in the summer. Our place is perfectly located in a quiet residential neighborhood close to Northstar Resort, Kings Beach (Safeway store) with hiking/biking trails accessible from the neighborhood. This property has a large backyard with professional Bocce Ball court and it is less than 50 yards from Lake Tahoe conservancy land that is free of residential houses almost all the way down to Lake Tahoe.

What makes this house unique

This is a modern home with vaulted ceilings and unique architechural details. Natural light fills the house and there are views of trees in almost every direction.

For your entertaining enjoyment there are 2 large outdoor decks (one off the living room and one off the masterbedroom) and a backyard patio. There is both propane gas grills and charcoal BBQ for outdoor cooking. Enjoy a fun game of bocce ballon a professional bocce ball court in the backyard.

For relaxing you have choices, a finnish hot sauna and outdoor 6 person hot tub. On cool mornings you can enjoy the warmth of heated stone flooring in either the master or main bath. Great location for fine dining and lake access, Kings Beach is the best beach at the Lake. The best dog beach is at Kayak beach just East of Gar Woods.

A Great Stay

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was a wonderful fit for our vacation! We are a group of family and friends who came to Tahoe to celebrate a friend's engagement, and this home was perfect for us. Plenty of beds and seating and fun things to do. We had the pleasure of using the hot tub (under an awning) while it was snowing - a magical experience! Thanks for a wonderful weekend away :)

Cozy and comfortable for a weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

A fantastic place to spend time with the family after over Thanksgiving weekend. From the very beginning Mike Drew was extremely responsive to my inquiries and requests.

Our group of 9 was very comfortable for our two nights stay. The recreation room slept 3 but could easily sleep 5 comfortably.

The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the grocery store is less than 2 miles away so preparing large meals was easy to do.

Hot tub and sauna are great. Since it was snowing, we did not use the bocce ball court, outdoor firepit, or grill. Which was totally fine because the views of fresh snow from inside the house and views of the lake just a 10 minute way away made it all worth it. Very winter wonderland.

The photos are descriptions are accurate. The home very cozy and welcoming. Garage easily fit our large SUV and Truck with room to spare for all the ski equipment. Very short drive from Northstar to the property.

Fantastically fun, spacious, clean home

  • 5 of 5

This vacation rental is set up for a large party to have a great time! There is so much space, spread out very uniquely, to allow for lots of different fun activities. The hot tub was wonderfully warm, the kitchen had great amenities (nice cookware and a dish washer!), and the rooms were big with very comfortable beds and linens. There was a really nice stereo. The neighborhood was beautifully tucked among a large wooded area. My 11 friends and I would love to come back soon to enjoy all of the outdoor fun (BBQs, hammock, bocce ball, lounge chairs) that this place has to offer!

Great Place! Great Location! Great Value!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed during the 4th of July weekend and it was a blast! If you like the woods and being outside this is the place! Great backyard for bbqing, bocce ball, lounging and any extra outside activity...plenty of room for out side activities! Rooms are set up perfect. Living area upstairs all in one floor and there is even a additional 4th room that can act like a bedroom with bunch of beds or additional living area. Great accommodations! Hot tub worked great!

This house is in the middle of Northshore and has easy access to all Lake Tahoe has to offer. 1.5 miles from highway 267 makes getting around the Tahoe Basin effortless. The drive around the Lake is breathtaking. Don't miss Emerald Bay and stop to enjoy the scenic little towns that surround the Lake. The house is in a quiet pocket of homes just up the hill from Kings Beach. All the homes here are surrounded by tall pine trees. Nature abounds with lots of wildlilfe, from chipmunks to bears. The roads in this neighborhood dead end at hiking trailheads. Winter and summer these hiking trails are used and maintained by the forest service. It borders the Tahoe Rim trail which is a destination for some with endless hiking trails you can access from the house. Brockway Summit is well know for its path to Tahoe City, and Watson Lake is also worth hiking or biking to. In the summertime you can walk to our neighborhood park, North National Park (they host summer concerts there too). The park encompasses approximately 124 acres of predominantly active recreational activities. An 18 par fitness course, ball fields, Frisbee Golf, & playground are just a few options. In the wintertime they offer a fun sledding hill for tubing and snow fun. This house is located within 20 min. to all the ski resorts on the North Shore; Northstar in the closest and newest village. Northstar Resort village was modeled after Beaver Creek Colorado...cobblestone sidewalks, copper roofs and a multitude of restaurants and shops that line the 'square'. The square is an ice skating rink in the wintertime and roller skating rink (becomes a outdoor movie theater at night) in summer. The bon fire pits and outdoor bars are a wonderful way to relax with friends and enjoy the ambience. Skiing @ Northstar is family orientated with lots of ski programs for all ages, and a pristine mountain that keeps a good grasp on good snow conditions. If you are staying a week I recommend taking advantage of the other resorts too; Heavenly, Sqaw, Alpine, Mount Rose, there are so many to choose from. A bonus is from the house you can drive the back way to Alpine and Squaw Valley which will eliminate the morning traffic through Tahoe City. Both mountains have tons of excellent skiing, and mountain biking in the summertime. MT Rose is where to go for open terrain, Diamond Peak for kids and an easy day skiing. Both are 15 min to the house. In the summertime, Kings Beach just down the street is a State Park with lifeguard and lake toys to rent. The beach is the highlight with wide sandy beaches and Lake views you have to experience to appreciate. There are many smaller beaches up and down the strip for reading a book, and dog beaches for your K-9 loved ones. Brockway golf course in Kings Beach is a must for those who enjoy the mountain flight of a golf ball; as one of the top 9 hole courses in California, its known for its yardage and views. In the wintertime the course becomes a snowmobiling park. Tahoe City is 12 miles away and offers a wonderful day trip with shops, restaurants, spas and outdoor venues. The Truckee River is our playground for fishing, river rafting and floating, and bike path to view all. If you did not bring your bike, you can rent one in Tahoe City and enjoy the bike paths that surround the Lake and provide a off the road path along the Truckee River to Squaw Valley. Or you can stop @ River Ranch, a river front restaurant with large outdoor patio at the entrance to Alpine Meadows. Here is where the river tours end and usually where the rafts have issues. You can spend the day here watching the rafters and enjoying the River Ranch menu and drink. Between the location , amenities of the house, and your favorite family & friends, you'll have a great home to stay at while getting a true Lake Tahoe experience.
