Location is good but host communication is poor
The pros of the listing was it generally looked like the pictures, just a bit smaller, and was in a good location. The host was also nice enough to allow us to check-in early which was appreciated. It was generally clean except for a nail sticking out of the floor and a roach that we found when we checked in.
The major issue was the padlock door died. I tested 2 numbers provided twice each, called the number listed which is an office that wasnt attended, and messaged on the URL. I reached out to VRBO who also could not get a hold of the property owner. When someone responded 15 minutes later I couldn’t get a response about when someone would be there - I specifically asked if someone was coming and told yes. After no update, I sent 3 messages indicating we had been locked out for 25 then 30 min and asked when someone was arriving with no response. I called the office again and left an angry VM. We needed to use the restroom and had 1 individual who needed to get ready and pack for her flight. After being locked out for 35 min we finally get a response that there is a lockbox need a staircase but weren’t told which one. After asking multiple times to be called we found it and the keys. When I asked why these instructions weren’t provided 40 min ago I was told there are 2 people and one didn’t know. If you aren’t going to maintain electronic locks, put emergency instructions for entry! The other minor items would’ve been overlooked but this caused unnecessary problems
