Lynn`s Cottage at Heron Ledge

Relax with the whole family at this lakefront cabin. This compound is ideal for quiet stays, romantic getaways and nature-filled family vacations. The cottage is freshly furnished with a fully-equipped kitchen. Cable TV, DVD player, linens and wireless internet are provided. Opportunities for sight-seeing and sport activities abound. The owner at this cabin provides 3 kayaks, 1 paddle boat and 1 canoe for guest use during the course of their stay. There are paddles and life vests available.
No smoking, in or around cottages. Smoking is allowed by the fire pit.
Pets are welcome, with an additional fee.

We ask of you upon departure that all food is removed from fridge & freezer.
Trash is taken care of.
Appliances are all off.
Gather dirty linen and put it in the bathroom.
Double check for any personal belongings. If anything is left behind the item will be mailed to you and you will be charged shipping fees.

This is a great, quiet space to get away! Easy access to the water and lots of extras to support you getting out on the water. We had a great time exploring both the Plattsburgh and Burlington area from here, quick drive to either.

Wonderful quiet and peaceful stay

We had a wonderful time. Joy and JF were wonderful hosts and even offered to watch our dog so we could go to Ausible Chasm. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay there again! Thank you Joy and JF.

This is a very nice cottage in a beautiful location right on the lake convenient to hiking, supermarket, museums in Plattsburgh and major highways. We really enjoyed peace and quiet this spot offered. Cottage is really comfortable. Thank you!

Our Stay at Lynne's Cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was comfortable, secluded, peaceful, charming and nice and simple. Totally chilled out and relaxed in the pleasant and beautiful lakeside retreat. Did some kayaking and swimming...Had a bonfire.. Did some site seeing...Don't miss Ausable Chasm and Texas Red Hots (2miles north). The owners, were so friendly, accommodating and helpful. Grounds were clean. Brought our dog, Zoey and she enjoyed it too. The getaway we needed. Thank you

A perfect spot on the lake

This was a fantastic rental! It was exactly as described and pictured. For context, this is on a larger property with a main house and then four smaller rental properties on site. We found the owners to be fabulous, responsive, and knowledgeable about the lake and the area. In addition, they could not have been kinder to our six-year-old son or our pup. An amazing location with perfect views of Valcour Island and the lighthouse. Great little beach for playing and adjacent to a creek for more exploration. We will happily come back next year.

Checked all of our boxes!

This was exactly what we were looking for in this trip. We wanted to be on the water, with a view and a safe place to let our kids run without worry. Bonus we even got to bring our dog who is getting older and probably will be her last trip and she ran her heart out playing fetch in the water! LOVELY people, responsive manager and the location was perfect. We rented a boat from the next door rental place, Valcour Boat Rentals, and had a wonderful experience with them as well. This house isn't as new looking as the pics made it seem to me, but the pics are accurate and it was clean, fresh and it had EXACTLY what we required and everything worked as it should!

Overall we had a good stay here but initially we were very worried. When we arrived and entered the cabin the smell of mustyness smacked us in the face immediately. Then we saw the beetles, bugs and spiders in every room. We also noted many cob webs everywhere including in closets and cupboards. It was obvious that the cabin had not been touched in some time. I really think if your first guest of the season is staying with you for almost a week, you should do a once over before they get there. Once we cleaned the entire cabin, minus the closets because i was like hell no, it was fine. No more bugs. We brought our own linens so that was good as well. We had nice weather so was able to air it out by opening windows to help with the damp smell. We were also disappointed because i specifically asked when i booked if there was kayaks or something to use on the water. We were told yes but everything was still "packed" for winter storage and it would have taken some effort by my husband to try and get the kayaks off the storage racks and once again, cleaned out of bugs and webs. One good thing is the location. It was good location to see Ausable Chasm, the surrounding towns and a nice drive to Lake Placid. Overall, we left the cabin better than we found it.

Lots of info about property, kitchen supplied well...vey cozy cottage, bed comfy, easy access to city...closest grocery Big M 10 min away...kayak shack paddle on Ausable River, half mile for local fav Michigans: McSweeny's or Clare and Carls. Book early as the other two cottages have had summer residence people who have been coming there for years.

Great vacation getaway!

We absolutely loved our stay at Heron Ledge! Despite being close to the highway, 2 other cottages, a campground and a marina, it was remarkably quiet and very peaceful. We enjoyed the views of the lake and Valcour Island / Lighthouse from the deck of Lynn's Cottage, and we were most appreciative of the fully equipped kitchen, cable television, wi-fi, in-unit washer and dryer, and the really comfortable bed. The linens and dishes were top-notch, and I was able to find an appropriate pot / pan / dish for everything I prepared in the kitchen. We were close to many wonderful attractions, good restaurants and a variety of shopping opportunities---all of which we took advantage of! The owners and cleaning staff were most pleasant, and Sue, the realtor with whom we dealt when making our arrangements, was extremely helpful. It was a great experience, and we look forward to visiting again!

Simply the Best!

As always, Phoebe and Bruce have made our stay the absolute best. The accommodations are superb and made our vacation well worth waiting for. The attention to detail and immaculate condition of the cabin have made this our first vacation choice for our last three consecutive family vacations. I cannot recommend this property enough. If you want seclusion and privacy as well as being close to all the best of the Adirondacks, this is the place. Andy and Colleen Bromsey

In their childhoods, owners Joy and Jean were both fortunate to stay on lakes, small and large, in housekeeping cottages. We found this unique property and saw it as a way to preserve the 'old-fashioned', simple-pleasures vacation. Because their home is also here, they can live it and share it!

Enjoy direct access to Lake Champlain with your own private beach. Experience spectacular sunrises and stunning views of the moon rising over Valcour Island Lighthouse and Bluff Point.

Guests with boats on trailers can park them in a secluded lawn area and easily launch them at the nearby Peru NYS Boat Launch. This is an ideal spot for bass fishermen looking to make the most of their stay during tournaments.

Spend your days exploring Ausable Chasm, Wickham Marsh Wildlife Area, hiking, biking, or simply relaxing on the water. Those with friends and family in the area are welcome to invite them for day visits, as additional parking is available on the lawn next to the driveway.
