Why James Pascoe (Owner) / Maine & Carol Hibbard (Manager) chose Corea
In one of my summer vacation I visited Corea Maine and I fell in love in this gorgeous area. This place is very special, there's something in here that you can't find anywhere else. I love the fresh air from the ocean that you can enjoy every single day even in summer time. The serenity and the scenic views of this place is nothing compares.
What makes this House unique
The beauty of the house is very special and the location is great.

Lovely week in beautiful Corea
The house is located just feet from the harbor and is within easy walking distance of a cute lunch restaurant on the wharf. A beautiful beach is less than a mile’s walk away. The nearby Schoodic Peninsula is amazing and less crowded than the main part of Acadia. Birch Harbor and Winter Harbor are a very short drive away and have plenty of restaurants and grocery stores.
The house itself has a big front deck and picnic table which gets the morning sun and makes a nice place to eat dinner. Inside is roomy and looks like it was very recently painted. We didn’t much use the TV but it was a nice one had all the basic channels and a DVD player.
The kitchen was properly equipped including a microwave. My only suggestion might be a set of larger mixing bowls for pancakes and to have a sheet of instructions for practical things like where to get groceries (MC’s or IGA), nearby restaurants and what to do with trash, recycling, etc.
The upstairs bathroom is very sunny and has a large old fashioned tub.
Overall the house was quite comfortable and had everything we needed for a very relaxing week in a beautiful part of Maine.
Comfy in Corea
We spent 9 days in Corea and we loved it. The house has cottage charm and is situated in the heart of a down east fishing village. People were extremely friendly and the owner and manager worked to make our stay as easy as can be. We would stay here again.
E from Texas
Lovely stay. Close enough, yet far enough from all the touristy spots. Make sure to have lunch at the Wharf; drive into town for a meal at the Pickled Wrinkle grab ice cream next door. Bar Harbor and the Acadia National Park are a “hop, skip, and a jump.....Make sure to visit The Schoodic National Park, it’s less crowded and GORGEOUS!
Hello, Glad you had a great time in Downeast Maine, guests were very nice people who we would welcome again to our house in Corea.
Disappointed with this property
This property is in need of sprucing up. It’s run down looking. And the view pictured on the HomeAway app was nothing like the view we had. The house inside was dusty, lots of cobwebs and dead insects inside. And when we arrived we found a realtors lock box on the door. We had to call owner for code to be told, “ oh you don’t have the code?” No, we were never given the code. The caretaker was very kind and helpful on where to shop for groceries, restaurants, etc.
we found many things in the area to do, but was disappointed in the lodging.
Sorry you were not happy with your stay at my house. When my caretaker spoke to you like he does with all my tenants you had no concerns about cobwebs or dead insects in the house. When you arrived and called me for the lock box number you said nothing about the condition of the house.
As for your cleanliness the house was left very dirty, the trash was not put in receptacles, dirty towels were left wet and unattended. The sheets in the upstairs bedroom had many stains which washing could not remove and therefore had to be discarded. The sink had many dirty dishes disgusting! Thanks for your reply
Great... loved staying in this area instead of bar harbor. It was very peaceful. The only bad thing Is the hot water smells like rotten eggs. Great vacation.
July 4th visit
Corea was a quaint harbor. We walked around & got some great pics. The Wharf almost across the street has great lobster rolls. The house met our needs for a family of four. It was very hot during our stay but the evening breeze & fans provided cooled the upstairs well.
You will enjoy the serenity and the scenic views of the area. A classic fishing village that's worth discovering. Lobster pond and the open ocean is a short walk away. Nothing compares to the freshness of the air on a warm summer day in downeast Corea Maine. A perfect getaway just to enjoy what the nature has to offer.
