Wow! What an amazing experience! From start to finish, Megan and her family were so welcoming and kind. Megan was the perfect hostess with great communication and tips! The yurt and surrounding property are beautiful. The pictures don’t do it justice! We had a phenomenal time and can’t stop talking about planning a fall and winter visit!

It’s was a great stay even in -6 degrees weather. It’s an off grid yurt on an amazing property. Came up for birding to get some rare species. Definitely check out the local bar and grill, some of the most friendliest people around.

Idyllic location to disappear from the busy world and just enjoy a weekend of peace and quiet. Easy access to trails while maintaining a feeling of separation from society. Fantastic hosts.

I absolutely love this yurt! I have stayed here three times now, and it is truly my happy place. Love that they have added a new trail for walking right at the property. We heard barred owls, great horned owls, and wolves in the night. Such a cool experience. The hosts are super welcoming and kind. 100% recommend.

So many wonderful things about our stay: the yurt itself (clever and comfy), our host (so helpful and friendly), and the local area (when they say birders are welcome, they mean it). We came up to spend the weekend for our 30th anniversary and added to our bird life list. Memorable, and very much worth a repeat stay. This yurt takes "glamping" to the next level, so if you've ever camped and loved it... we highly recommend!
What an amazing place to stay! The Yurt is so charming and cozy, and has everything to make your stay perfect. The host, Megan, is a dream and provides all of the extras to make you feel at home. The Yurt was spotless and the bed was so comfortable. I felt like I was at the Yurt Ritz! It was magical listening to the night sounds - owls hooting, coyotes singing, and seeing a sky full of stars. I also saw wild turkeys and deer in the morning. I can’t wait to go back to this little retreat in the enchanted forest!

Oh Cynthia! What a kind and wonderful guest:) You were a dream! An absolute inspiration of a woman. I so look forward to your return, and to hear about your adventures! Thank you so much for coming.
We had a wonderful time at the yurt. The wood stove is so cozy & we loved the quiet mornings with the birds at the feeders. It’s also close to Sax Zim Bog for exploring winter boardwalk trails. I would recommend this stay!

About the host
Hosted by Megan
Our family; Aaron, Megan, Robin and Cedar are nature enthusiasts and love where we live. We want to share the uniqueness of our area with everyone. We have 30+ acres of bog, woods, and river to explore.
Why they chose this property
We've lived at this property for 17 years. Rural yet accessible. We are geographically located in the center of so much coolness. Fun bars with good food close by, excellent fishing and boating on the river, riding UTVs or snowmobiling the state trail that connects you all over. Wildlife and rare birds are a daily treat here, including our resident barred owl, Bardy.
What makes this property unique
The Sax Zim bog is a unique ecological boreal area that is on the migratory path of many varieties of birds and owls. The Whiteface river is serene, with excellent fishing, kayaking and canoeing. Unique plants and animals make this place a sanctuary. We hope you're experience will be rewarding.
