As of May 23, 2020, my cabin is available for rent. I will follow CDC guidelines on cleaning, using an EPA-approved disinfectant for COVID-19 between customers. Thank you, George Stanley.
Appalachia at its best. A mountain cabin re-created within the basement (first floor, ground level) of my home for your pleasure. Private entrance(s), covered deck/patio, open deck, great view, very private setting.
The location has an East-West orientation, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Great place to sit, relax, and enjoy your favorite beverage.
The cabin is fully self contained. It has its own kitchen, bath with shower (no tub), and a small living/dining area. One bedroom with a king size bed.
Centrally located between I-40 and I-26, on Busbee Mountain, the property borders the Biltmore Estate and blends in with the Blue Ridge Parkway at an elevation of 3,346 feet. To get a real glimpse of the property, go to https://youtu.be/gd66YZ9MEsE
My refund policy is very relaxed, generally, if you are not here, you get a refund. We can work through any situation.

I had a great stay in the rustic cabin. What a spectacular view and peaceful stay. The cabin had everything I could possibly want including a bear sighting. Thank you George for a wonderful space to decompress!
We absolutely loved George’s cabin it was the perfect place to stay for a nice, comfy, relaxing weekend in the mountains! It was very clean and George was so sweet, it’s wonderful for spotting wildlife we saw a baby bear, lots of turkeys, and a bobcat! I would definitely recommend staying here
The cabin is in a beautiful setting. Very quaint. Loved sunrise and relaxing on the porch. George is very welcoming and has put much thought into stocking the place with anything you might need. I would recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful scenic getaway. The only caveat is that those with allergies or sensitivities may find the place a little triggering.
Absolutely loved the place. Amazing views to drink coffee on the porch, comfortable bed, and hospitality provided by George made it such a great experience. We’ll definitely be booking again for our next trip.
We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. The long deck provided us with gorgeous views of the mountains. The birds sang to us all morning. The red tailed hawk was a special visitor. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
George greeted us when we arrived. He is so sweet. The cabin was roomy for the 2 of us and our 3 Chihuahua mixes. Very well stocked with all the appliances you need. We needed nothing to be able to be comfortable. View is spectacular and would be even more so in sunny weather (which we did not have).
We loved our stay! Our host George treated us and our dogs like family. Our cabin had everything we needed. The view was amazing, especially the sunrises. We look forward to visiting again!
Its an absolutely cozy, beautiful place to stay! It has everything you need! George was a great host! He responded so quickly everytime I messaged him with a question! Check in was super easy as well! I would definitely stay here again!
We loved our stay at George’s mountain cabin. The view was beautiful, and it was a joy watching the buntings and warblers from the porch. The cabin was thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. The wifi speed worked fine for my husbands work. Great location for Asheville , the Biltmore, and waterfall day trips. George was a great host. We would definitely stay here again!
Nice quiet location, views are great, owner is wonderful and very friendly. Shower is a little small, but it is in the description. Overall, highly recommend.
Such a beautiful place to stay and the host was super accommodating and welcoming! I couldn’t believe the view , the pictures definitely don’t do it justice. It really felt like we were among the clouds.
We were very happy with our stay at George's cabin. He was a welcoming host who was always available if we needed him but never intrusive. The cabin is located high on a ridge with beautiful views in both directions, and the highlight was sitting on the porch and enjoying the view of Mt Mitchell in the distance. The road up the ridge is steep and narrow, but it is fully paved, and we had no trouble navigating it in a smaller car. We look forward to making our next visit!
This cozy cabin was perfect for our Asheville weekend getaway! Close to everything we had planned, yet tucked away enough to feel completely secluded. Even cuter in person and spotless! We loved our stay.
Everything far exceeded my expectations. Perhaps the most peaceful experience of my life. I really didn’t want to leave the property! George is the kindest, most pleasant host and definitely the best part. Which is really saying something because it was fantastic!
We absolutely loved this precious cabin!! George is a super host and we enjoyed his company and knowledge of the mountain. We will definitely be staying here over and over!!
Be prepared for a steep drive up to the house but the views are well worth it! George greeted us a few minutes after arriving, getting to know our reason for travels and a history of his home. His cabin is super quaint with all the amenities we needed. Views on the deck are spectacular, overlooking the mountains and on a clear day you can see Mt Mitchell. Short drive to Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Asheville. Our last day George knocked again to let us know there was a bear cub in his yard; so incredible to get that up close and personal with an amazing animal!
Lovely cabin high in the clouds. Enjoyed the peace and quiet. Close enough to the city and all attractions

I am retired. I enjoy my cat, Olly.
I retired from the Community College System and enjoy meeting people, thus the rental.
I enjoy traveling and finding neat places. I hope I have created one here.
Why they chose this property
I had a half -finished basement when I purchased the home, which I separated from the house upstairs. I envisioned a downstairs cabin so others could enjoy the beautiful mountains as I do.
What makes this property unique
Living on a rural mountain and bordering the Biltmore Estate Property, there is an abundance of wildlife - turkey, deer, pheasants, bear, raccoons, generally all sorts of wildlife. I have pictures of bear in the yard and in close-by trees. At an elevation of 3,346 feet, the cabin overlooks a huge valley. The valley is often filled with fog, creating a beautiful sunrise at eye-level.
