Whitetail cabin is hidden in the woods with all of the comforts of home in the heart of nature and just minutes from the sea. The home is located at the end of a private road, surrounded by a beautiful wooded forest, filled with an abundance of wildlife. If you are looking for your own private piece of the island to enjoy, you will love it. To me, getting away from the crowds is crucial to decompress and really enjoy life, at this location that is possible. The location is private while still being only about 5 minutes from Acadia National Park and about 10 minutes from down town Bar Harbor, perfect! If you would like to really enjoy the raw beauty of the island with a cozy, comfy home to retreat to after a long day of adventuring, this is the spot for you, your family and friends.

This log cabin was beautiful. The setting was so peaceful and quiet! We had a wonderful time in Bar Harbor and while we stayed at the Whitetail cabin. Thank you so much! This is the very first time we ever used HomeAway and I would definitely do it again!!
Great home near Bar Harbor!!
Our family had a wonderful time during our stay. Home was perfect size for the 4 of us. Not a far drive to town and the home contained everything we would need for our week stay.
Felt like "HOME"
Just emagine coming home, after a long beautiful day on mount desert island, going down this long whindy one lane road in the woods to your quiet little cabin with no other homes in sight with the wind blowing and the birds chirping and sun on your face. The cabin is simple inside with a fully stocked big kitchen with all the cooking pots and pans you'll need. Plus a lobster pot! Also a good size fridge.
The bed rooms are cozy with plenty of room for your clothes for the week. With one master bed room w/queen size bed and a guest w/a double. Also a fold out couch on the loft overlooking the living room.
I could go on and on! To sum it up, it's a small quiet beautiful cabin in the woods. Worth it.
Marsha and Will were great. The house is so much nicer that in the pictures. Everything we needed was there for us. Very comfortable and so close to everything. So many lobster shacks in the area. We had a fantastic time and if I ever get the chance to go back I will definitely stay here again.
A month in paradise
We spent the month of September 2017 at Whitetail Cabin. We have been coming to Bar Harbor for 23 years and renting cottages near the water. This time we rented this nice house in the woods and prefer the openness and spacious acommadations it provided. Marsha has done a good job fully stocking the kitchen appliances which we appreciated because we steam a lot of lobster and clams as well as cooking other dishes. Having a laundry room on site is so convenient for a long stay. The privacy is incredible, no one comes around except Will once a week to gather the trash and he always called before showing up. We highly recommend this retreat.
Lovely House in the Woods
My hiking friend and I loved our stay in this house. Though it is near town and the national park it feels like you are staying out in the woods. The house had everything one would need to be comfortable. When a little issue came up with the door lock, the owners responded very promptly and fixed the problem right away. I have stayed in several vacation houses, and this might be the cleanest one that I have ever rented. I appreciated that since I'm particular about this issue. I would stay there again if ever I get to visit that part of the country in the future.
