This is a Wonderful Waterfront Getaway for any Family to enjoy during anytime of year! Located on Lake Mitchell Canal with direct access to Lake Mitchell & Lake Cadillac. Just 1 mile west of Cadillac, 8 miles east of Caberfae Ski Resort, and just 2 miles north of M-55 near the Heart of the Manistee National Forest. Great for Summer and Winter Vacation Getaway! Lake Cadillac & Lake Mitchell out the back door for lots of Fishing, Boating, Canoeing, Kayaking, Ice Fishing & much more. Swimming in the water from your boat or a nearby public beach. Snowmobile Trail located 1 mile down the road. No wasting time loading and unloading sleds all day long. Just RIDE! Cadillac Snowmobile Festival just outside the front door. Top Notch SKIING & GOLF at Caberfae Resort (7 miles) & Crystal Mountian Resort (15 miles). (By the way staying at this Lake House is much nicer & less expensive than any small hotel room! Adventure Island Amusement Park with go-carts, bumper boats, water slides, mini-golf, & more (1 miles). Pine River canoeing, tubing, paddle board, rafting, & more (10 miles). Hiking & Hunting on the 1000's of acres of State land 1 mile down the road because it is located near the heart of the Manistee Forest. Steelhead & Salmon Fishing at Tippy Dam (15 miles). ORV trailhead about 5 to 8 miles away. Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing Morel Mushroom Hunting is some of the best in the area. Little River Casino (30 miles). Fire pit for those marsh mellows & other goodies. Walk to Downtown Cadillac for Festivals, Shopping, & just to enjoy the Old Town Charm. Lovely cottage

Everything you need and nothing you don't! Very nice little cottage! Comfortable and cute decor with a well stocked kitchen! Awesome communication! We appreciated the Yellow Perch!

Blue Gill was great

Cute cabin and very clean. They had everything that we needed. Loved sitting on the deck by the channel and relaxing. It was also very central to places we wanted to visit. Thank you!

Cute little cottage

Comfy spot, good communication. Kayaks and canoe were fun to take out. The best VHS movie collection I've seen in a really long time :)

Great little cabin

Came here to do some ice fishing. Perfect little cabin for us, has all you need for such a trip. Access to the main lake just a few houses down the road, with the canal out back (which I'm sure is awesome in the summer).

Good enough

We just had a short stay, simply a place to sleep. Main bed was squeaky, the water was slimy( too soft), and the bunk beds were difficult to make. Otherwise it was fine enough.

Enjoyable Stay

I rented the "blue gill" for a 3 week work stint. It was exactly what I expected based upon the online description. The owener is very responsive and easy to work with. Would recommend!

Perfect “weekend” getaway

My husband and our kids(2 dogs) had an amazingly wonderful time. We got to watch baby robins leave the nest in the back one morning while enjoying coffee and the peacefulness of the neighborhood. It was super windy so we weren’t able to take the kayaks out but we did get some fishing done at one of the near by parks and off the back dock. One of the rainy days we enjoyed some good ol VHS classics(the collection is top tier). Definitely will be looking to stay again in the future.

Works in a pinch.

Home was not clean, smelled of mold, beds were very uncomfortable. Bring your own blankets, linens, and towels.

It worked

The house was clean, however I wasn’t expecting such a list of chores to be completed before I left. I don’t have a problem picking up and leaving the house clean, but it’s a little much to ask to clean shower, mop the floors and make the beds.

Lazt Acorn Lake House

The cottage was comfortable and met our needs. The fishing was poor r/t the excessive wind and white caps on the water. This was very unusual for this time of year, according to a long time resident. We still enjoyed fishing off the dock catching bluegills. I would recommend staying at the cottage, but not having a TV can make for a long night. One thing that could be improved upon is the correct address and a more accurate description of which canal the cottage is on. The cottage is on Mitchel Lake and not Cadillac Lake; there is a canal between the two lakes.

Ok Stay

House was nice, however, dont expect closets or anyplace to store your clothes except your suitcase on the floor. They need to hire a cleaning service to clean after previous renters leave. We found dirty frying pan in oven and food left in freezer. Bathroom floor needed swept and toilet was not clean. We were expected to clean house unless you paid cleaning fee when we left and I am sure it was cleaner than when we got there. Dont expect to be able to swim at this location because nothing was trimmed around channel. Had to fight weeds to put our kayaks in the water. Not really worth the price being charged.

Cabin on the river

The cabin is quaint and small but had efficient use of the space. I should have asked that the beds be made up because I did want to use the property’s linens. We had to put the linens on the beds. The home had a lot of dead insects/flys in the tub/sink and floors that we had to clean up. The driveway wasn’t shoveled but the snow was only a few inches deep. The lockbox was hard to put back. The cabin was 19miles to Caberfae where we skied. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the dining room table and well stocked kitchen with salt and pepper. We had paper towel and quite a bit of toilet paper in stock. The cabin was reasonably priced for the holiday week.
