On the Main Level:
When you arrive, you'll park in the heated garage and step through the front door into a slate-tiled mud room. Beyond is our granite-topped kitchen outfitted with brand new stainless appliances and stocked with staples, spices, and good coffee (grocery shopping can be provided upon request.)
The open dining/ living room area features a custom zinc-topped dining table for 8, bar seating for 4 and easily accomodates 2 families with plenty of room to play a board game, watch a movie, enjoy a glass of wine and relax in front of the wood burning stone fireplace.
Also on the first floor: a cool and colorful bunk room with beds for 4 (plus an air bed) and well-appointed queen bedroom. A full bath and a washer and dryer, stocked with laundry supplies, are conveniently located off of the bedroom hall.
There are 2 Master Suites (one King, one Queen) with custom furnishings and sumptuous bedding. Each suite has a private bath. The king room features a balcony with mountain views for sipping morning coffee and a flat screen TV for late-night movies. The queen suite is our favorite, with a cozy couch and a desk area in case work intrudes upon your vacation.

About Jennifer & Danny O'Shaughnessy
We are an active family of 6 living outside of Chicago. Our four young kids LOVE this cabin in summer and winter. They have spotted moose, bears, coyotes, mule deer and foxes from the property and love roasting marshmallows in the fireplace; racing home to the hot tub on the ski-in trail; horseback riding through the nearby national forest; playing board games; and listening to live music at Whiskey Jack's at the Big Sky Resort.
Jennifer & Danny O'Shaughnessy purchased this House in 2010
Why Jennifer & Danny O'Shaughnessy chose Powder Ridge
We came to Big Sky for the first time in 2005 and fell in love with the fantastic skiing, low-key atmosphere, proximity to Yellowstone National Park, and high alpine environment. We've skied all over the West but believe Big Sky is simply the best. We looked for a ski/ summer place for several years and finally found this wonderful cabin--cozy and a little rustic but graced with every amenity we could need while on vacation: good restaurants, lovely views, challenging hiking, crackling fireplace, bubbling hot tub, good wine, total quiet, millions of stars, and perfectly comfortable beds. We'd love to share a bit of heaven with you!
What makes this House unique
This is not a "rental monster" but rather, our home. We invite you to be our guest with a cook's kitchen stocked with pantry basics, coffee, tea, cocoa & spices. We provide a slow cooker, stock pots, lots of flatware, dishes and glassware so you can relax (instead of washing dishes). We also provide all paper goods, cleaning supplies, toiletries, laundry detergent and other comforts of home. All linens are top quality, new and ready for your comfort.

The cabin was very comfortable for stay of two families (9 people total). We enjoyed it so much we didn't even venture out for dinner the whole week - great kitchen. The owner was very responsive to the questions we had. And the skiing was awesome as always. Excellent place to spend a week!
Beautiful site. Ski in ski out easy you know route. Very responsive mgmt. company. We had a minor problem and they were right on it. Super well equipped kitchen with a lot of other niceties such as boot dryers. Need to drive to base for dinner but in big sky that is not unusual.
Very comfortable, convenient cabin for a great ski vacation!
We loved our stay at this comfortable cabin. Beds were great, and there was enough hot water for all our (long) showers. The kitchen was well appointed for cooking (including the basics, like salt and flour). It's about a 5-minute drive to the base, 15-minute drive to the Village. Jennifer was very responsive to all of our questions. Plus, she outfitted the cabin with Hot Hands (we were totally comfortable skiing in sub-zero temps). Ski-out was pretty straightforward. Ski-in was a little confusing at first, but easy once we figured it out. We hope to return! Thanks for sharing your home with us!
Family Skiing adventure
What a perfect venue for a family get together to ski Big Sky!! We had a wonderful time and would do it again in a heart beat! We really appreciate the fact that this is someones home and they allowed us to use it.
Amazing week with family!
We had a family of 10 at the house for a week and all fit perfectly! We had a wonderful stay -- there's so much to do in Montana in the summer (fishing, hiking, Yellowstone, etc.). We'll be back!
We are so glad you enjoyed our cabin and your visit to Big Sky! Let us know if you make a return trip or decide to try ski season. Cheers! Jennifer & Danny
Great place to visit in the summer, too!
This house is in a quiet neighborhood just up the road from base camp. We visited in July and were very comfortable here. Did the Beehive Basin hike, visited Yellowstone, enjoyed the evening farmer's market and the concert in the main square, Lava Lake, all the base camp activities, horse-back riding, etc. Big Sky is a lot of fun in the summer, and this cabin was great for our two families - plenty of space and nice and light. We used the grill out back and the hot tub, and enjoyed seeing foxes around the neighborhood. House was in perfect condition and well-equipped with everything we needed, and a great location to explore all that Big Sky offers. (I'm sure it's awesome in the winter, too, but we aren't skiers!) Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home!
One hour from Yellowstone National Park, world-class fly fishing on the Gallatin River, hiking, biking, rafting, climbing and nordic and alpine skiing
