Mimi’s place was indeed perfectly located. We walked everywhere-State St, The Wharf, Fink Zone. Having our small dogs with us worked well with a fully fenced area for them both in front and in the shared courtyard in back. Mimi had great restaurant and other recommendations for us and was a very responsive host.

Hummm. "Good location"? Most guests, and MANY return year after year, when describing the location of Caza de Coco use adjectives like "stellar, amazing, fantastic, sooo convenient, perfect, GREAT!!! I am at a loss for words here. I think sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you just can't please everyone all of the time.
Host was there to meet me and explain everythingshe was helpful in all things that I needed. She made several suggestions of what to do in Santa Barbara, which was a nice touch. One thing that should be added to the description is the fact that there is a no shoes in the house policy, which wasn’t mentioned before and it was a big surprise on check in.

Tamara, our no shoes policy is clearly stated under our house rules found on VRBO. I’m so sorry that you didn’t read that before you arrived. We feel this helps maintain a hygienic, comfortable, and well-kept space for all guests.
We stayed in The Annex for a week and could not have been happier. Mimi is a gracious host who loves dogs. If you're traveling with a pet, you know it's difficult to find high quality lodging but we found it here! The house was spotless and very nicely decorated with all the amenities. We walked everywhere ... groceries, restaurants downtown shopping, Funk Zone, the beach. Mimi sent texts with recommendations on things to do and was always available for questions. Definitely recommend!

Fabulous, charming and so convenient!
LOVE this place!! Mimi greeted me with a dog toy at the door. She was so gracious. Not only was the place adorable, it was close to everything Santa Barbara has to offer. Mimi was very helpful with good restaurants, or suggestions of fun things to do. The place itself was soo charming with no details left undone. I loved the fact that I didn't need to drive anywhere. The mall is half a block away and all of the wonderful restaurants are a quick walk, there's even a grocery store within walking distance. I would definitely stay there again and plan on it for all my future trips to Santa Barbara!

Beth, thank you for the kind words!!! You are my favorite Texan and I hope you and all of your friends move to Santa Barbara!!
The property was immaculate. The host met us for check in, showed us around and answered questions. The location is awesome. You can walk to State St., stores, restaurants, grocery store, etc. But if you want to venture out, the rental comes with a parking space (indoors and gated) - huge bonus. Convenient to everything the Santa Barbara area has to offer. The host (Mimi) was responsive and easy to deal with. Dog friendly, and Mimi even dropped off dog toys. Washer and dryer on the property (no charge). We will be returning to this property as soon as we can. Thanks Mimi!

Terrific Location and Accomodations
We showed up late, but we were greeted with a beautifully lit home that was clean, meticulously decorated, and nicely appointed. We met with Mimi the next morning and she showed us around the property and gave us recommendations for meals and tourist activities. We were in Santa Barbara for a dog show, so unfortunately, we had little time for sightseeing. We brought three French Bulldogs with us and they loved the home, the yard, the dog bed, and the toys that Mimi provided. Although it was a warm weekend (85 degrees), the house remained comfortable for us and the dogs. We are already making plans for our next visit. Thank you Mimi, for a terrific weekend!

You can, of course come back before then, but I can just see oodles of French Bull Dogs everywhere! You both were a delight, thank you so much for choosisng Caza de Coco for your stay.

Perfect Hostess, Perfect Location
We enjoyed a week here. Mimi could not have been a better hostess. The house was stocked with everything we needed, down to a beach bag and chairs for our trips to the ocean. We were greeted at the property, where Mimi went over everything and even had brand new toys for our dog. We have done many VRBO's, and this was the first where we were welcomed so warmly. Mimi was very helpful in directing us to many Santa Barbara activities and restaurants and answered every question we had quickly via text or in person.
The house is situated perfectly for easy access to State Street and all that has to offer. Don't be put off by no designated parking space. There is a parking pass that comes with the house and we were always able to find a place to park.
The grounds are well kept, house is cozy, clean and comfortable. We are looking forward to returning very soon.

Gordon and Victoria: Thank you for such nice comments. You also were the perfect guests with the perfect dog (I know Minnie is not really a dog, but she looks like one, which is a compliment)! Not many people are so kind as to spend their vacation repairing a "hard water impaired shower head"! Next time you visit, maybe you can stay in Bungalulu with the "mysterious intermittent running toilet"? Ha! Please come back, you and Miz Minnie are so welcome anytime.

Another Great Experience
We just returned from our second trip to one of Mimi's cottages. This time we were in the back in the smaller, Bungalulu. We absolutely loved it. It was the perfect size for the two of us and our little dog. The kitchen is perfectly stocked, the master bedroom cozy and comfortable, the front sitting room sunny and bright and the bathroom is adorable. I fell in love with the claw foot tub! There is a second small bedroom, and a storage area next to the bathroom, so there was plenty of room to stash away suitcases and such. The gated porches and the shared backyard make this an easy place to bring your dog. That being said, the houses are clean and no sign of excessive dog wear. The location is perfect for walking to the grocery store, restaurants, bars, shopping and even down to the wharf. Mimi is a great resource for things to do and restaurants to try. Our second stay was every bit as perfect as our first. Thanks, Mimi!

Inquire about ongoing construction next door to this property,.
Good location, nice neighbors. Construction ongoing next door. If you want a peaceful relaxing vacation, this is not the place. Inquire about the construction, as it is not disclosed in the listing.
Location location location! This is in such a prime area for literally everything you could possibly want or need. We walked and enjoyed all the best of beautiful Santa Barbara. Mimi was a wonderful host with great recommendations. Her home is full of character and it was easy to relax.
Cottage was cute. Older, but had nice amenities and some updates. Was nice to sit on front porch and watch the people go by. Great great location. Could walk to everything! MeMe was very accommodating and helpful. Easy breezy check in and out.
My family and I loved our stay in this cozy bungalow. Mimi was an amazing host! She greeted us on check-in (with a toy for a dog as well). When there was a minor problem, she arrived within 10 minutes to fix it. She also sent me a few messages letting me know about special events that were going on that weekend.
The location can't be beat! We didn't need to move our car all weekend, and we could walk to the beach, restaurants and shopping.
The only down side was the bar across the street created a little bit of noise at closing time, but not every night of our visit.

Robin- It was a pleasure hosting/meeting all of you, so glad your visit was a good one! Thanks for your kind review, we appreciate it. Also thanks for adopting a rescue although most times, as rescuers know, they rescue you and not the other way around! Take care and we hope you can visit again soon.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Mimi's downtown Santa Barbara home. She welcomed us in-person when we arrived in town, and provided wonderful recommendations for local restaurants and activities. The home was comfortable and uniquely decorated, and our two dogs loved the outdoor areas. Mimi even gave us dog toys and towels to ensure they enjoyed their time in SB, too. The location is perfect, with walking access to everything the town has to offer. We will definitely be back!

About the host
Hosted by Mimi Greenberg
I moved to Santa Barbara 35 years ago after spending a mere four day vacation here. I now, and have for the last 25 years, sell real estate and manage my own rentals. Some are long term unfurnished and some are short term furnished. Casa de Coco is too cute and located in an A+++location
Why they chose this property
This property was converted to a vacation rental because of the location. It sits in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. Everything is steps away, yet it fronts on one of the coolest streets in Santa Barbara. The house was built in the early 1900s so it is extremely charming with very large windows and beautiful natural light. There are fenced yards and viewing porches both front and back. It is an oasis, a secret spot, a hold-out, a gem peaking out of a downtown corridor. You won't want to leave Santa Barbara and ESPECIALLY Caza de Coco.
What makes this property unique
The proximity of Caza de Coco to everything that is Santa Barbara is A+. You can walk for an evening at the theatre, stroll for a little live music and wine tasting, shop till you drop, partake in two weekly Farmer's Markets steps away, or dine from coffee, breakfast, to 5* restaurants. The lovingly chosen eclectic decor, friendly floor plan, and sun filled rooms will warm your heart. Caza de Coco will wrap its arms around you and make you feel special and welcome in her fair city.
Not suitable for anyone under 25
$100 bi weekly cleaning fee for 30 night stays or longer
$200 pet deposit required
We include parking across the street, undercover, assigned, behind gates for 1 car. Arrangements can be made for additional parking for additional fees. Inquire for details.
