Beautiful view! The home is well taken care of, but felt comfortable and relaxing to have kids and a pet. The customer service was excellent as well! We had one issue that was resolved within an hour and didn't impact our vacation at all. There is no cell service at the cabin itself, but there was good wifi. We enjoyed not having service and utilized the time to truly check out of real life and enjoy spending time together. 10/10 would recommend!

The cabin was beautiful. The finishes in the cabin are very nice, and the view is outstanding! Such a relaxing get away for our family. We absolutely loved the community, and took advantage of the horse rides for our young son. We will absolutely be coming back.

Super private stay high on the mountain

We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and boy did we find it. Yes: cell reception is spotty - but my wife and I were able to use this opportunity to completely check out from our work and just enjoy the simple mountain life. Resort staff are super friendly and we loved every moment of our experience

The perfect getaway!

We had the most amazing weekend. Everything was clean and the views were awesome at the cabin. We loved bringing our dog too! The trails were easily accessible and the hot tub was a nice activity to have too. We even had snow on our last day! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Love all of the horse decor / theme. Thanks for an awesome stay!

Out of the way!

This is a very nice location but keep in mind it is in the middle of nowhere. 1 hour from Blowing Rock. No restaurants around. The one on site is only open Friday nights during the winter. So pack everything you need. Is a great place for horses and riding.

Beautiful And Quite

This house is beautiful, the only thing I would ask for would be a TV downstairs. I can’t do stairs so I had to watch I tablet and read. Which was also nice. But my Husband and I had a great Anniversary trip. Thank you.

Perfection

My husband and I had the best time at this cabin in the mountains. It exceed our expectations . The view from the living room was amazing. The home was super clean and cozy, was tucked away providing peaceful privacy, had all the things we could need to cook our meals, and the hot tub was fabulous. I did not want to leave. It was just so relaxing and romantic. We got home today and it is one of the first times I have returned from a trip and thought “it’s good to be home”. I want to go back to the cabin!

Stunning but remote

We spent more time in the car getting to places than i would like. I am mildly disabled so hiking the trails on the mountain was difficult. Driving to towns and attractions seemed to take forever, often on gravel roads that were poorly posted. We should have booked something closer to Boone, Blowing Rock or Banner Elk but i would hate to loose that view from the house. Lack of cell phone reception was problematic.

Beautiful Views!

Horsin' Around is a beautiful mid-sized cabin with breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge mountains. My wife and I wanted quiet, peaceful, secluded and that's what we found! Amenities are exactly as specified in the listing. There are no other cabins visible from this property. After a 5-8 minute drive (to what seems like the top of the mountain!) from the front gate of the Leatherwood Mountain Resort you are in a little slice of heaven. This area caters to horse lovers, but being a "horse-person" is not necessary. We will definitely be back! Already checking our dates for the future! Highly recommend Horsin' Around and Leatherwood Mountain resort!

Really better for a family with kids - not 2

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The downstairs bedroom - extremely small and claustrophobic with a bathroom just as limited. Better for a family and put 2 kids in the small room. Could not shower without getting hair wet, TV never really worked, pots and pans were worse than what I had in college. Also the pet blanket was full of chiggers - so I was eaten alive on the couch one night.
