Wonderfully well-equipped home just steps from private beach
Our family of 4 spent a wonderful week at Sandy and Zak's incredibly well-equipped home in Truro. They thoughtfully supplied everything from beach towels, chairs, beach totes and an umbrella (pails and shovels, too!) to a fully equipped kitchen, with every condiment, spice, and cooking tool a gourmet could want. We spent most of our time eating local lobster rolls, but clearly we could have cooked a complicated meal, given how well stocked the kitchen was. Very thoughtful.
The house is in a woodsy area (no water view) which allows for quiet and privacy. We grilled on the back deck, and indulged in our morning coffee in pj's. The house is a very short walk to a lovely private beach where we watched the sunset.
Although Sandy and Zak live downstairs, we barely heard them, and the arrangement seems ideal in that, if there are any issues (we did have a glitch with the AC, and the outdoor showers were not working), they are available to address the problem right away.
The house is spacious and very comfortable and very well located for visitors to the Outer Cape. We hope to make a return visit!
Cape Cod Delight!
The house was absolutely beautiful, amazingly decorated and had every possible amenity we could ever have needed. Sandy and Zach kept to their own apartment but if we needed anything, I just knocked and asked. They even offered my family an extra day since one day during the week we were there it rained all day. The house was spotless, in a scenic area with walking distance to a beautiful private beach that we practically all week to ourselves. There is not one thing I can say negatively of our experience! It was magical and would be indeed my dream home!
Lovely, comfortable and well appointed house.
My family and I had a most enjoyable, restful vacation in a well thought out home. Everything that we could want in a vacation home was at our fingertips. Beaches were close by, within walking distance. Without a doubt this was the best home we have stayed in on the Cape, and we have been going for at least twenty years. We look forward to returning in the future.
Stunning house in excellent location near bay beaches.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. Sandy is a wonderful host, helpful and responsive to any question or request. She and her son live in the basement apartment, they were unobtrusive during our stay. The house is exceptionally well decorated and well equipped. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, both with comfortable queen beds, abundant drawer/closet space, and many pillows. Sandy has installed room-darkening drapes in 1 of the bedrooms, which was considerate, and helped decrease the sunlight pouring in through the many windows. There is a den with a fold out couch downstairs. All 3 of these sleeping areas have window air conditioners which work well-(the ones in the bedrooms are high up, a stretch for short people to reach!). The living room is large and comfortable, the kitchen is very well-equipped, and the dining area is a glassed-in porch (lovely for breakfast in the morning, listening to birds and an outdoor fountain). Note: there are 2 relatively small TVs in the house, 1 in a bedroom, 1 in the den; we did not really watch TV much, but some people might mind that there is no TV in the living room. The outdoor shower looks new and is clean and spacious. The nearest beach is a "private beach" for the local development (2 minute drive or 10 minute walk down the road; then a long staircase walk to the beach itself-well worth it, the beach gets few people and is beautiful). Ryder Beach is the nearest Truro town beach, it is also a bay beach, a 5 minute drive away, also very pretty and sparsely populated, even on a sunny July day. We also went to 3 of the Truro ocean beaches (Ballston, Long Nook, and Head of the Meadow), all of which have stunning dunes, soft sand, and clear water. (We were, however, pretty bothered by biting flies at the ocean beaches by the late afternoon-we recommend bug spray!). Overall, we loved our vacation and we really loved this house. No complaints at all. We hope to stay here again, it met all of our needs.
Lovely, airy house.
All conveniences, everything worked. Interesting art work and furniture throughout. The owners are on site and very nice and helpful. The structure is divided into two independent living groups, and our privacy was strictly maintained. It is very close to lovely bay beaches and across the road from a communal tennis court. The sole drawback, which is the reason for the 4 rather than a 5 rating, is the very active mosquito community within the property, which resulted in our being unable to use the outside seating areas. On the other hand, there is a very nice screened-in porch with a dining table that seated four comfortably and could easily seat six.
Beautifully appointed home in lovely seting
The owners live in the basement but that was not problem at all and the home is so large and well built that I don't think either was able to hear the other at all!
Spacious, charming, with every convenience including WIFI and Direct TV, Keurig, ample dinnerware, etc. The house was absolutely spotless, the grounds extremely well maintained.
can't wait to return.
