Stunning house in excellent location near bay beaches.

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. Sandy is a wonderful host, helpful and responsive to any question or request. She and her son live in the basement apartment, they were unobtrusive during our stay. The house is exceptionally well decorated and well equipped. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, both with comfortable queen beds, abundant drawer/closet space, and many pillows. Sandy has installed room-darkening drapes in 1 of the bedrooms, which was considerate, and helped decrease the sunlight pouring in through the many windows. There is a den with a fold out couch downstairs. All 3 of these sleeping areas have window air conditioners which work well-(the ones in the bedrooms are high up, a stretch for short people to reach!). The living room is large and comfortable, the kitchen is very well-equipped, and the dining area is a glassed-in porch (lovely for breakfast in the morning, listening to birds and an outdoor fountain). Note: there are 2 relatively small TVs in the house, 1 in a bedroom, 1 in the den; we did not really watch TV much, but some people might mind that there is no TV in the living room. The outdoor shower looks new and is clean and spacious. The nearest beach is a "private beach" for the local development (2 minute drive or 10 minute walk down the road; then a long staircase walk to the beach itself-well worth it, the beach gets few people and is beautiful). Ryder Beach is the nearest Truro town beach, it is also a bay beach, a 5 minute drive away, also very pretty and sparsely populated, even on a sunny July day. We also went to 3 of the Truro ocean beaches (Ballston, Long Nook, and Head of the Meadow), all of which have stunning dunes, soft sand, and clear water. (We were, however, pretty bothered by biting flies at the ocean beaches by the late afternoon-we recommend bug spray!). Overall, we loved our vacation and we really loved this house. No complaints at all. We hope to stay here again, it met all of our needs.

Lovely, airy house.

  • 4 of 5

All conveniences, everything worked. Interesting art work and furniture throughout. The owners are on site and very nice and helpful. The structure is divided into two independent living groups, and our privacy was strictly maintained. It is very close to lovely bay beaches and across the road from a communal tennis court. The sole drawback, which is the reason for the 4 rather than a 5 rating, is the very active mosquito community within the property, which resulted in our being unable to use the outside seating areas. On the other hand, there is a very nice screened-in porch with a dining table that seated four comfortably and could easily seat six.

Beautifully appointed home in lovely seting

  • 5 of 5

The owners live in the basement but that was not problem at all and the home is so large and well built that I don't think either was able to hear the other at all!

Spacious, charming, with every convenience including WIFI and Direct TV, Keurig, ample dinnerware, etc. The house was absolutely spotless, the grounds extremely well maintained.

can't wait to return.

Wonderful stay, accomodations lovely and well-equipped, owners lovely and available (if needed)

  • 5 of 5

We visited Truro at the end of July and had a wonderful stay. Sandy and Zak, owners of the home, were the nicest, most accommodating hosts.

Sandy and Zak have thought of everything from a well-equipped kitchen (dishes, pots/pans to basic spices), to a pint of cream and Keurig available for your first morning of arrival, liquid soaps in bathrooms, beach towels, beach toys and chairs if needed. They were available if you needed something (which we didn't). The entrance to the rental house is totally independent from the owner's area. The home was impeccably clean, well equipped with all one would need (if you need sheets/towels request this for a small fee it's well worth it!), and most importantly a comfortable home to hang out in. The home was spacious. There is a gas grill area with outdoor seating on a deck and an outdoor fire pit. The outdoor shower is private, clean, new and beautiful. The private tennis court is across the street as pictured and the beautiful private (!) beach a 3 minute walk from the home. Parking was not an issue at all. I would recommend this home to anyone interested in renting in Truro. The private beach is beautiful, the home lovely, with on road established accessible bike routes. Restaurants nearby as well as Provincetown and Wellfleet. The Cape Cod Bike Path is nearby in Wellfleet and Provincetown.

Beautiful property w/a couple of flaws

  • 4 of 5

This is a lovely house in a perfect location -- a truly quiet and peaceful setting that's a short drive to our favorite beaches. The house itself is beautifully decorated, and it has hardwood floors and lots of natural light.

There are a few areas needing improvement: The two televisions are fairly small and aren't located in the most "logical" part of the house -- would be better to have a larger one in the living room. And while the natural light is wonderful the two upstairs bedrooms allow too much in -- would be good to add shades you could lower over the skylights (the sunlight pouring in woke us up fairly early every morning). Also, while the kitchen is otherwise fully equipped it needs a vent over the stove.

Sandy and Zak are great hosts -- they were available if we had questions but otherwise completely respected our privacy. We'd stay here again.

Beautiful, spacious home in secluded location

  • 4 of 5

There's not much negative to say, but it's worth mentioning for future vacationers. Once the owners received our payment for the week, all communication ceased. Emails with questions were ignored for some strange reason. While on the property, we were respectfully given our privacy. However, the window AC units on the second floor conked out twice and on one occasion, were not blowing out cool air. The issue was fixed shortly after. The AC units on the first floor do a very poor job of keeping the house cool. It was 85-90 the whole week of our stay, and the first floor got very stuffy. New AC units are in check for the first floor.

Aside from a few fixable issues, there is nothing that would keep us from coming back! The vegetation around the house was beautiful, the house is a short drive to some of the most beautiful beaches in Truro and Provincetown (Herring Cove Beach had some of the clearest water we've ever seen in a beach this far north), and the tetra tank was an awesome touch. You can also walk to a private beach not far from the property. The property was as described; clean, well stocked, and the beds and pillows were comfy!
