Great place, great views
We really enjoyed our time at the cabin and would definitely recommend it to others.
Thank you, Cheri. I was so disappointed that we did not find your swimsuit. I need to get VRBO to send out an email reminding our guests to check for things that could be left behind. It seems that everyone forgets to look in the washer and dryer. Also, under the bed and the wall receptacles are usually overlooked as well. And, then there is the problem of getting it returned if found. By the time someone goes to pick it up, box it, and take it to the UPS store, communicate with the owner, and miss a half a days work - the service charge is more than the item's worth. I have even had guests get mad at the housekeeps because they did not find it worth their effort. Unfortunately, in Sevierville, doing all that is necessary to return the property to its owner can take up to a half a day and miss a half a day's work to do it. Most housekeeping services refuse to do it. It can be a problem sometimes. I send back most things requested when I can do it with some degree of economy.
I hope you 'll come again soon.
If you want to get away from it all - the mountains are the best place.
Fun Fun Fun
We absolutely enjoyed our trip! The cabin had everything you needed and the inside pool was a major hit for the kids! Would definitely recommend this place. The bears was a new experience for us, just keep your doors on your car locked, other than that the bears was no problem! Larry was so knowledgeable and made us feel right at home!
Kristina, I am thrilled you were pleased with the cabin and your vacation. I hope you visit again and when you do try October or November. October is my favorite. The summer heat is attenuating, and the change of the season is in the air. The leaves are beginning to display their magic and turn the mountain into a blaze of autumn colors. And, November is when the chilly winds let you know that winter is on its way. If it shows, December is a winter wonderland. There is always lots to do whatever the season. And I love them all. I hope the bears didn't scare you. That little cub that is so friendly is destined to be relocated. I wish I could do something to help him or her. Come again soon. Stay in touch. Larry
Bear Cub Way lives up to it's name!
My family just had a great stay from M-Th, we didn't want to leave! With 2 kids and a teen, the small pool was great. The hot tub was great for us in the evening to watch the shadows of the sun setting on the mountains. The bears! We didn't know what to expect, and while at first we were a bit nervous we loved the VERY close encounters with the bear Cubs, momma only walked by once-The cubs came right up to the door several times. The house was comfortable and plenty spacious for our family.
We'd definitely stay here again for sure!
Thank you so much, Christina. Summer is turning out to be rather mild, but then it's usually that way in the mountain. I saw that little cub today. He almost got into my truck. Lucky for me, I saw him or her before my vehicle got trashed. That one is too friendly - practically ran up to me like a dog. You have to be careful because mama is nearby somewhere. I'm so glad you enjoyed the cabin. I try to put new decor and furnishings every time I visit. I'm going to build three more. It has become a very delightful hobby. I get to deal with a lot of very happy people. Come again soon, Cheers, Larry
Large cabin with all the amenities and the best view at the top of the mountain. It's a long steep winding road to get up to the top, so we enjoyed visiting sites during the day and hanging at the cabin in the evening. We saw bears every single day from the cabin, and that made for the best experience! Larry and his staff are great to work with and checked in with us to be sure that our trip was great. We will visit again 😊
Thank you so much, Kristy. There is no substitute for good reviews, and to an Innkeeper like me - that really wants to make his guest happy - it's tantamount to a Mom slaving all day to cook a delicious dinner for all the family and guests. And, yet her only reward is to know everyone loved her cooking. After which, she dutifully cleans up and does all the dirty work without much applause. I think Moms need more appreciation and love. Come again soon. Cheers, Larry
My husband and I took our family for a mini vacation and we had a great time. The views were gorgeous and we even had a bear visit us a time or two. The drive up and down the mountain wasn’t very fun for us flatlanders but it was beautiful scenery. The cabin was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone.
Mindy, you are such a sweetheart to leave such a lovely review. I'm working hard to repristinate the cabin. It's a labor of love, believe it or not. I ofter worry that I have not done enough for my guest. They are all so nice and helpful when we have a problem. Today the cable went out, and my guest call and I gave them the cable number, and it was restored within minutes. I think they are all a lot smarter than me. Lucky Me. Cheers, Larry
About Larry Allen
I am a former NASD broker/dealer that left Wall Street after a 30-year career to become a carpenter and build log homes. I thought I liked being a stock broker until I started building log cabins to rent. Now I know I should have quit sooner. There is nothing like building a log cabin on the side of a mountain with such beautiful surrounding, the smell of a freshly cut log, the smoke and smell of a moaning chain saw. It almost as musical as Vivaldi's "Four Season" classic. However, there is one thing I discovered more gratifying than that and that's saying a lot. It's pleasing my guest and reading the great reviews they so kindly bestow upon my little cabin business in the mountain woods of Tennessee. Just doesn't get much better than that. All the Best, Larry Allen
