Enjoy a quiet retreat in a private wooded setting nestled in the WNC mountains, just outside of Brevard. Although you may feel remote, you'll actually be an amazing short drive to many destinations, that is sure to please anyone! The house was built in a free-flowing floor plan (all rooms connect, no hallways), which was common in rural areas. This older house has a full kitchen, dining room and large family area that has room to stretch out and relax. There are three bedrooms and a large bathroom that is built at the end of the house. The yard has a fire pit that you can enjoy and there is small charcoal grill to cook on. Under the canopy of a huge oak is a homemade picnic table and a two person swing. Here in Transylvania County we have 3 different park lands that provide miles of hiking, biking and horse trails. Fly-fishing, water tubing, rock climbing & picnicking and don't forget to view some of our 250 waterfalls. You are less than 5 miles from the Pisgah National Forest, 15 minutes to DuPont State Park and 30 minutes to Gorges State Park. If the outdoors aren't to your liking, you are just minutes away from Brevard, for dining, art/crafts, music and shops. If you get a chance, check out some of our festivals.

We booked this home the night before we had to evacuate the coast due to Hurricane Florence. Junette (the host) responded to our request within minutes and kept in touch with us the next day as we traveled inland. Words cannot express the gratitude we have toward Junette and Mike. They had the house ready for us and were a quick call away when we had questions concerning area attractions. They also brought us corn and tomatoes fresh from their garden. The house was exactly as promised. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped. We enjoyed sitting outside where we enjoyed the peacefulness of the region. The house is perfectly located between Hendersonville and Brevard with easy access to DuPont State Park and Pisgah National Forest. During our stay we hiked, swam under waterfalls, enjoyed tasting tests at area breweries, and ate in several of the local restaurants. The wi-fi was extremely fast and very reliable. We cannot wait until we can visit this place again. When we do, we will definitely stay at this location. Junette and Mike were the best hosts we've encountered with over a dozen online vacation rentals. They were genuinely concerned for our safety and asked that we contact them when we made it back home.Thank you for turning an evacuation into an awesome vacation memory!
Peaceful, lovely, great owners
Everything was as stated. Comfortable, peaceful, wish we could have stayed longer. Close to where we wanted to go. Met the owners, they were very nice, warm and helpful. They even left the makings for s'mores and a couple of little gifts for the 5-year-old. Loved the older house with older accessories, like the locks, etc.
We had a great time, the kids loved it! We’ll definitely come back!!
We chose this property because it was close to sliding rock. Grocery stores and resteraraunts are close by. We had a great time staying at Carolina Spicewood!! Kids had plenty of room to play and the fire pit is awesome. I recommend staying here!!

Quiet getaway with great yard
Nice touches in this mountain house. We especially liked the side yard with picnic table, grill and fire pit. Great place to spend a cool evening in the mountains.
