About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

This family cabin, built by our father in 1964, is a place for families and friends to reconnect while enjoying the wonders of the Tahoe area. The cabin interior is all knotty pine with a local stone gas burning fireplace in the living room. There are two bedrooms with double beds and a bunkroom that will accommodate four people.

The cabin is just one mile from the lifts of Squaw Valley USA. Squaw Valley, officially named Olympic Valley since the 1960 Olympic Winter games, is located on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, just off Highway 89, 2 minutes to Squaw Valley Lifts, about 13 minutes from Truckee, 5 minutes from Alpine Meadows, 25 minutes from North Star and about 10 minutes from Tahoe City by the lake. The Village at Squaw Valley has numerous restaurants and shops.

This cabin is ideal for families and friends seeking to encompass a unique experience together while vacationing in the beautiful atmosphere of the Squaw Valley/Lake Tahoe region.

Cozy cabin in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

My group of 3 stayed in this Cabin for the Spartan Race World Championships at Squaw Valley. The cabin is just a 4 minute drive from the Squaw Village which was fantastic. Plenty of space and a nice kitchen with lots of pots and pans to cook with. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back!

A very cozy cabin very close to Squaw

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is an old style cabin about a 3 minute drive from Squaw Valley. The cabin itself was very cozy with a nice fireplace and a stocked kitchen. The decor is 1970s/80s which was great for us. The 3 bedrooms (2 with double beds and the 3rd with 2 bunk beds) housed the 7 of us comfortably. The owner, Liz, was great to work with. 4 feet of snow fell in 48 hours while we were there and each morning the snow removal folks came by and plowed not just the roads but also the driveway which was great.

I would recommend this for anyone looking for a homey old fashioned cabin!!!

Great cabin close to Squaw sunmer amenities

  • 5 of 5

We just came back from a July 4th weekend stay at this classic cabin. It was perfect for two small families 4 adults and 4 children. The kids loved the bunk room.

Dinner on the deck outside was very relaxing. We had the basics of needed cookware to make our nightly meals.

Th location is perfect for quick access to all summer ammenties at Squaw. We took a short bike ride there with the kids where they played 18 rounds of miniature golf throughout Squaw Valley Village and had frozen yogurt to cool off.

You can reach Squaw village just by walking - I took a short jog there and took a Yoga class at Wanderlust in the morning. What a great way to start the day!

There was a longer bike path near the house that runs along the truckee river to Tahoe city, but we did not get around to it.

The children had much fun just playing on the deck of the front yard and watching wild bunnies hop on by.

We tried to go up the Tram to go swimming at High Camp, but Tram services were halted due to thunderstorms the day we tried, so we went back to the Cabin where the kids built forts out of bedsheets hung over the bunk beds ( perfect for when it is raining outside).

Fortunately the rain stopped and we were able to get back to the Village quickly to take the Tram up and swim and visit the Olympic Museum.

All in all, a nice cozy cabin to enjoy the great outdoors and great for families with children!

Charming Family Cabin--Great for Kids

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this home. It is quite a bit older, but clean and tidy and comfortable. My six kids, ages newborn to 15, enjoyed the bunk beds, games, and especially eating out on the front porch. the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals during our stay. The cabin is located close enough to Tahoe City (about 10 minutes) so we could easily buy groceries or eat out; but it's secluded enough to provide privacy and a mountain experience. Thanks to the owners for sharing with us!
