M and M Candy is ready to welcome guests to experience a wonderful Topsail vacation! If you are looking for a sweet and quiet spot to land for your next vacation, M and M Candy is sure to please! This 3 bedroom 2 bathroom Oceanfront Beach Cottage is conveniently located near local shops and restaurants in the quaint town of Topsail Beach you will be able to enjoy the slow pace of Island life while you are here.

M and M Candy offer Sleeping arrangements for 6. Bed sizes include a King, Queen, 2 Twins. Pillows, spreads, and blankets are provided.

Beautiful view, poorly maintained property

The positives: the beach was beautiful and empty of people, even with a public access two houses down and over a holiday weekend. The house is nicely laid out, with bedrooms on each side of the main living area, so that you have privacy among your guests. Living room is comfortable with lots of seating, and laundry machines appear new. And it is a close drive to Topsail restaurants (but about 20 minutes to get to the IGA in Surf City). But these were overshadowed by the poor condition of the house. Paint pealing off the walls, bathroom rusted and outdated, filthy floor mats and dirty rug, rotting wooden rockers on the outside deck, and somewhere an entry-way for bugs (yes, bugs are at the beach....but we probably killed 10 in the house over the course of 7 days, when doors have not been left open, which seems a bit excessive). We would not stay here again.

Topsail island vacation

The best thing about this house is that it is right on the beach. We loved the location. It is small but was perfect for our family. The ill fitting covers on the sofas was a bit strange. The mattresses definitely need an upgrade. It felt like you were sinking into the floor. The house was very clean when we arrived.

Fabulous

Loved the place. It was very clean and well appointed. Close to the beach and easy access. A little far to the stores, but didn't mind. Had our own private beach. It was glorious. Will go back there again.

Great beach house!

We have been visiting Topsail and Outer Banks for years and have stayed at lots of different beach houses. This was one of our favorites. Great location - love being on the secondary street Ocean Blvd, almost no traffic! Also, less than a 1 mile walk/ride to the couple of restaurants in town. Well stocked home with plenty of items for cooking and the beach. Loved that the home include Netflix/Hulu and plenty of spectrum channels. Deck is beautiful with lots of nice seating. And we love that the home allows pets! Perfect house for 6 or less people and your furry friends.

Disappointed

Sadly, this little cottage is in major need of upgrading. The furniture is outdated and covered with slip covers, and the whole place needs a good scrubbing. With a little love and attention. This could be a great place to stay. The view is the one thing going for it.

Well-equipped comfy property for smaller group

WONDERFUL POSITIVES:We loved the location, the kitchen had every gadget and serving wear for our group of 6, the property management group was responsive when we had one toilet clog, obvious maintenance updates to deck boards and exterior, for a do-friendly house-it did not smell of wet dog. FEW ISSUES: You cannot realistically say that "charcoal grill" is useable. It is not safe to use when the post is crooked and it is not clean; there are cockroaches that are active in the kitchen at night, could use one deep-clean in the older bathroom to include moldings and surfaces and the A/C vents are dusty, the kitchen sink water does not get hot nor very cold. I wonder if the dishwasher is getting hot enough water feed. I would stay here again. Just perfect size and location and well-equipped comfortable house. Thank you!

Great Location

Great location, did have a musty smell, not sure if that’s common for a house on the water. Wouldn’t stop me from coming back.

Perfect for Us!

We are a family of 6 and M&M Candy was the perfect fit! The property was furnished for a family to kick back together after a day at the backyard ocean! The beach was awesome with many shells and warm waters. We were worried about the front bedroom with the noise from the street, but we were so happy that the road was very quiet with minimal traffic. We had a couple of bulbs burn out and called Lewis Realty. Within ours we were in the light again. The cottage was clean, but could use a little bleach and paint in the bathrooms. If you like coffee on the deck in the mornings, it might be helpful to bring a canopy (no more than 12' x 12'). It made our mornings more pleasant. All in all, we were very pleased and made many memories!

Great property in awesome location!

Our family absolutely loved this house! I'm not sure how picky the other reviewer is, but we did not encounter any problems like they described. Maybe ran across one bug, but it's the beach. I think that's unavoidable. The house was very clean when we arrived and hardly anything was required of us when we left. The realty company takes care of almost everything as far as cleaning goes and it made our stay much more enjoyable knowing we wouldn't have to vacuum and mop ourselves! The furniture was typical for a rental but it was clean, comfortable and served it's purpose. TV had cable with plenty of channels to keep the kids happy when they were inside. We really came to spend time at the beach and this house is perfect for that! The deck is a good size and the stretch of beach we were on was uncrowded and beautiful. You can see out to the ocean from the kitchen and living room, as well as some bedrooms. Really nice to wake up and see the waves coming in. The house may be a little older, but we definitely loved it. The staff at Lewis Realty were very helpful and super friendly. We had no issues with checking in or out and everyone in the office was very accommodating. Even if we chose another house for our next trip we would still use them, hands down. Two thumbs up!

Great Cottage & Vacation

We have stayed at M and M Candy in the past and continue to come back each and every year. The home is the cutest oceanfront cottage tastefully decorated with a coastal theme. Easy check in, wireless internet, nice televisions & furniture, as well as greatly stocked kitchen all add to the charm. There is even a picnic table and a grill! We love Topsail Beach as well, always quiet and beautiful!

Needs updating

Of all the rental houses I've rented this was by far the worse!! This house desperately needs updating, toilets leak, couches are stained along with bedspreads and couch needs to be replaced, light fixture in first bathroom goes off and on, dishwasher comes off track, front door was very difficult to open with keys. The house was dirty, needed a deep cleaning, seems the owners don't care or leave everything to the realty...bad decision. The house smelled like dog, we even found dog treats under the cushion of the couches along with old fish crackers...really? We found bugs on the floor in the corners of the rooms, dishes were dirty that we're in the cupboard, we couldnt figure out the cable for the T.V. Got the menu but no picture. Would never rent from this realty again, hard to believe that it's been in business for 40 years!! Surprised to read the quest book and people loved it, either our standards for a clean, good smelling, updated house are not what other people care about, we realize it's the beach but really???
