Best Views, Best Rates, Best Hot Tub in the Valley

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6-7)

Just wanted to say that - We have a 3 night minimum for high seasons, but if your looking for weekdays (sun-thurs) only, or filling in gaps between other renters, we're more than open to shorter stays. Also we use the place quite a bit ourselves, so we aren't able to do long term rentals.

Read on to hear all about the place and feel free to drop me a line with any questions (I'll get back as soon as I can).

This beautiful home has the best views in the valley. Situated on the top of the hill just behind the Safeway in Fraser, provides unobstructed views to the entire valley, byers peak, and the town below. There are no houses above us, and the houses below are far enough below that they don't obstruct the view in any direction. The great room has huge vaulted ceilings, sliding glass doors to access the deck, and 30 foot tall windows to take in the view. The great room has an open floor plan linking to the kitchen and a large fireplace to warm it in while watching a movie, socializing, or just enjoying the views. We usually have firewood in the garage which you are welcome to use. The great room opens to the elevated deck, that also overlooks the valley, and a grill. The house has a large three bedroom / three full bathroom floor plan spread out over three floors. We share the place with 2 other couples and there is plenty of room for all of us. The bathrooms were just remodeled in Dec 2013 (new tile floors, retiled showers, new vanities, ...).

The hot tub is in an enclosed wooden (sauna like) room with a large window (that opens so you can cool off) allowing again unobstructed views of the entire valley and town below. The tub is a huge wooden soaking type tub (with jets). It is 8 foot across and 5 foot deep. It comfortably holds 8 people without the massive entanglement of feet and legs normally associated with large numbers in a tub. Speakers in the hot tub room can be turned on/off from the stereo upstairs. The room and tub really are a highlight of the place (towels are provided).

The kitchen is fully stocked with all cooking utensils, pots and pans, baking dishes, spices, flour, oil, vinegar, blender, coffee maker, ... Just ask if your wondering about something that isn't listed, we love to cook so there's a good chance we have it up there.

There are 3 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. The master has a huge elevated king bed with a rustic log frame, and a newly remodeled bathroom (shower and tub). The downstairs bedrooms each have full bathrooms with tubs and showers, one with a king bed and one with a queen. Heat can be individually controlled in each room. The place sleeps 6 on beds and an extra full mattress (thin twin) is in the closet. The couch is a huge L shaped, but is not a hide-a-bed.

There is a large HD TV in the great room with basic cable, a dvd player, and a stereo. The stereo has hookups for a mp3 player and speakers in both the great room and hot tub room. There is also a TV with dvd player in the master bedroom armoire. We have Comcast wireless Ethernet (and you can also hooked up wired connections directly to the modem - although you'll need your own Ethernet cable)

We're on the bus route, the stop is right across the street at the corner of ermine dr and wapiti. The bus comes every 30 minutes and will take you directly to ski hill, town, ...

There is also a single car garage (long enough to even fit my suburban with an inch or two to spare), and a heated mud room for drying off your clothes and boots.

We really feel Fraser is the ideal location in Winter Park - its right near Safeway, has far better views of the valley than anywhere in Winter Park, and only a 1-2 mile drive to the center of Winter Park. In the summer you can mountain bike right from the house (the trails in Fraser are phenomenal and connect to the winter park and resort trail system). The paved bike/walking path also curves all the way from Fraser through winter park and along the Fraser river up past the resort.

Our cleaners charge a set rate (150), but we take a deposit for slightly more just in case they have to spend extra hours (due to an unusually dirty house or pet hair), and will refund any extra (along with the damage deposit) after cleaning. If you there only 2 of you and you do not intend to use downstairs and you let us know at booking, we may be able schedule a shortened cleaning time and refund the savings.

Thanks for looking at our place, we hope it works out for you.

About Jason Luck

Three close friends bought this home years ago and our families use it regularly for skiing, mountain biking, and just to get out of Denver.

Jason Luck purchased this house in 2005

Why Jason Luck chose Fraser

This is our favorite resort in the front range. The bumps on Mary Jane are matched by none, you can still park at the base and hit your car for lunch or to swap skis. The mountain biking is amazing in Fraser and you can leave straight from the house. Its also within walking distance of Safeway, which we love.

What makes this house unique

The lofted ceilings in the great room make it amazing for relaxing or socializing, while the views are the best in the valley (whether looking out the huge windows in the great room or relaxing on the deck).

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This was a beautiful home for a week with lovely views across the valley and a fabulous sunset one evening. It was comfortable for 3 couples with 3 double beds and 3 en suite bathrooms. It was not so easy with a 6 month baby as well but we managed. Our other daughter with a family of four came over in the evenings and we all managed to be together with enough dishes for all and almost enough room round the table!! The hot tub was just right after a day of cross country skiing.

Great place for families or singles

  • 4 of 5

Clean and comfortable! Bedrooms on different levels was great; a good floor plan for three generations in one house. Also loved separate thermostats in each room and that each bedroom has its own bathroom. Didn’t use the hot tub, but can see how it would be great to use after a day of snow sports. Only criticism might be that bed linens and towels seem rather tired.

Nice view , great place for vacation . If we go back I would stay here again.

  • 5 of 5

House was nice and up to date, enjoyed the fire place and the view . Had everything we needed ,all we had to do was bring groceries . There were plenty of spices in cabinet for cooking . Only thing I would change is main living area thermostat was on auto set to 50 degrees . You could override it for a couple hours then it would go back to 50 . I probably could have reset it but didn’t want to mess anything up so I left it alone and we enjoyed the fireplace which worked wonderfully . Anytime I needed any question ask about the place the owner would respond very quickly. Owners seemed very nice in thier replies. Fraser tubing hill was fun and very close to us . Winter park just a few miles down the road for skiing. Grocery store at the bottom of the hill in Fraser and everyone in the town seemed very nice

Great Lay-out

  • 5 of 5

I booked this house for a colleague and myself while in Winter Park running a hiking trip. We stayed at the house with two dogs. We were gone most of the day, but found the house easy to access when we were tired and ready to crash at the end of the day. I needed to go to Safeway almost daily and it was only a mile away. My favorite thing about the house was the layout. You have the main floor with living, dining and kitchen. The master bedroom is on the upper floor, very nice and private. The stairs going down is off the entry way and once down there it's a world of it's own with two bedrooms and a bath. I loved that. My colleague felt like she had her own private space. The house was comfortable and well appointed, but not so perfect that we felt we couldn't touch anything. Highly recommended

Fantastic stay in Fraser/Winter Park

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Jason's place in Fraser. All of our schedules aligned for a short trip on a fairly short notice, and Jason responded within hours and we had the reservation set up. The condo was very spacious for our family and the kids enjoyed having their own rooms and bathrooms, and we liked the layout of the condo. When I asked everyone what to list in the review, they talked about the huge picture windows, the amazing views over the mountains and city, the great location to everything in Winter Park. We also enjoyed the hot tub, which has to be the deepest hot tub I have ever been in. The condo is right up the road from the Safeway grocery store which came in very handy. Driving over to Winter Park only took a few minutes, and we also went to Devil's Thumb Ranch which took less than 15 minutes. The condo had everything you would need. I can't say enough about how great the views were. This was my first time to Winter Park and I would like to come back and I would definitely stay here again.
