Esta casa histórica de Fachwerk fue construida por Adolph Kappleman Sr. en 1865. Es la única casa de Fachwerk en esta parte de Hill Country. Consta de cuatro habitaciones, un dormitorio grande, una sala de estar grande, una cocina pequeña con comedor y un baño pequeño con bañera y ducha. La casa también cuenta con pisos de madera. Se construye con postes y vigas de cedro nativo, cuadrados, a mano, todo pegado en su lugar y ladrillos hechos a mano para el relleno. Los ladrillos fueron cocidos en un Kiel en el rancho. El rancho fue adquirido por Herbert y Hulda Mayer en 1920 y en 1957 por James y Lillian Mayer. Todavía hoy es una granja en funcionamiento.

La casa fue restaurada a su forma original en 1999 por James y Lillian Mayer. Está amueblado con muchas reliquias familiares y antigüedades. El salón tiene un sofá cama, T. V., sillas cómodas y está decorado en blanco y negro.

El dormitorio tiene una cama queen size, una cómoda antigua, una silla y otras antigüedades. Está decorado en color rosa y blanco. El baño tiene una bañera y ducha con patas decoradas en color burdeos y azul marino. El área de cocina y comedor tiene un fregadero, un microondas pequeño y una nevera pequeña, una mesa y sillas antiguas y está decorado con un motivo de manzana y cortinas de arpillera. La decoración es muy atractiva. Un pozo Bar-BQ está disponible. Disfrute de la tranquilidad en el columpio del porche y el paisaje campestre con el ganado en los campos. Una escapada pintoresca para disfrutar y relajarse.

A look into the past

The house is perfect for what we wanted. Small with kitchen, separate bedroom, living room and bathroom. Loved the history and how it was displayed throughout the house. A/C was appreciated. The porch swing was perfect for morning devotions and relaxing after a busy day. We had car troubles and Beverley was quick to help us, getting friends to help and offer much needed advice. Such a blessing when we were completely stranded in the middle of nowhere. A few side notes the house did smell musty, but opening the doors took care of that immediately. There is no stove/oven in the house but they did provide a grill and all utensils for it. Lastly, the driveway is steep and exits directly into the road. No biggie once we got the hang of it. All in all 10 out of 10 stay. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Farm House Near Gruene

If you’re doing a driving trip of the area, and don’t want to pay the inflated prices of staying in town, this is your place. Beautiful drive in all directions. 25 minutes to Gruene. 45 minutes to Luchenbach.

Perfect Getaway

Perfect charming getaway for my husband and I. It was clean, quiet and cozy and we couldn't have asked for anything better. We love the vintage feel of the place and that's why we chose to stay here. Nice to be far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Beverly has been so easy and kind to speak with and I highly recommend staying here!

A Great Place To Stay!!

Enjoyed the weekend at the old farm home in Bulverde. Nothing fancy just country living. We enjoyed all the antiques the pictures, and the journal, quite interesting !! Brought back a lot of fond memories of staying at my grandparents home off 306 back in the 50's. Beverly was very accommodating leaving fresh fruit and homemade muffins for us, it was great. Plus we enjoyed Sunday evening on the front porch swing with a nice breeze while we had Bar-B-Q from the local restaurant. Great place to stay close to New Braunfels, San Antonio and the rest of the Hill Country has to offer. Thank You, Jim & Barbara

Wow, we really enjoyed this cottage. Antique furniture... like staying back in history AC was great in heat worked better than mine at home Watched deer, bulls, and horses in the yard every day I attended a meeting at the Marriott this home is very close by.

Great experience and wonderfully peaceful

It was perfect for my husband and I. We were attending a conference and did not want to stay on site. It was great coming back every evening to the peace and comfort of this home. It was very spacious, comfortable, and quiet. We grilled one night, everything that we needed for grilling was provided (except the food:)). The fridge was packed with fresh fruit and different types of juices and water. Beverly texted to check on us to make sure we had everything we needed. We had a great experience at this home!
