This property is absolutely amazing! Communication with the host couldn’t be better. Everything was clean, tastefully decorated , and comfortable. Highly recommend this place. We stayed a weekend to unwind . Would love to have a chance to visit again!
We had a great stay overall. There was a small hiccup at the start, but the host responded quickly and resolved it right away, which we really appreciated. The location in New Oxford is charming, with a nice small-town feel and convenient proximity to Gettysburg. The only minor downside was some traffic noise from Route 30, which took a bit of getting used to. Otherwise, everything was very comfortable and enjoyable.
Wonderful place to stay. Located in a really nice area and close to Gettysburg. The place was nicer the than the pictures. Very clean and the bed was so comfy. I would highly recommend.

The rental is an adorable little cottage. Tastefully decorated with TONS of amenities and small touches! Blankets, fans, kitchen utensils and detergent! Everything you would need!
The cottage is adorable. We enjoyed our stay, everything is close. Ghettysburg, shopping, vineyards, and mountain hiking all within a 25 minute drive. The owners are very sweet, and checked in on us. We will be back!
Our stay in New Oxford was phenomenal! The carriage house was so clean and comfortable that we stayed in our first night there. The host and hostess were friendly and helpful! And, incredible antique shopping at New Oxford Antique Center!
Very nice cottage; don't let first impressions fool you. ;) Entire cottage was very clean and helpful information was posted on the fridge. Hosts were very friendly. Some shops nearby but did not get to explore until Sunday afternoon and many were closed. The stairs to the upper level were a little narrow and steep and the bathroom was upstairs so keeping that in mind when staying here may be helpful.
We’ve been looking for a perfect place to stay in New Oxford and we finally found it! Home is perfectly clean, quiet, really comfortable bed and is supplied with everything you need. Hosts are very friendly and communicate quickly. Easy check out and just a wonderful private place. We plan to come back several times a year when we visit friends here and antiquing! Don’t forget the safe off street parking, coffee and sandwich shops just around the corner and great restaurant recommendations!!
Came to town for a long weekend. Went to Gettysburg, Harper’s Ferry, Amish Country, and drove Skyline drive. Came home each evening to the wonderful little place that had all the comforts of home. Walked to the coffee shop in the morning which is two buildings away. Everything was perfect and I highly recommend this to any couple looking for a nice place to stay. Only 10 minutes to Gettysburg.
Nice little cottage that was very comfortable. A few small initial glitches addressed immediately
Vrbo makes it very difficult to contact owner directly and quickly.. Owners very nice and quick to respond. TV not hooked to cable and difficult to maneuver. Great kitchen, comfirtable bed. Reasonably priced.
I loved everything about this place - very cute, comfortable and clean. Great kitchen! And the hosts even provided some snacks. Lived the fact there’s a washer and dryer, too.Lots of extra towels, blankets, etc. Very comfortable bed.Easy check-in, very clear instructions. It’s within walking distance of an excellent coffee shop and a sandwich shop, as well as Rite Aid and some other places.Michelle and Shawn are great hosts - very helpful and friendly. Cutest town! I can’t wait to visit again.
The owners are excellent. Their pet Labrador Roxy is amazing. It’s great location and downtown if you call that new Oxford near the Square that was excellent. I didn’t like the stairs because they are narrow for this 6 foot tall 250 pound guy there is barely as wide as my shoulders But if you’re not have football shoulders, you will be just fine.
My stay at the Historic Barker Cottage was an absolute pleasure. The location was perfect for my training clinic, offering a quiet and peaceful neighborhood that was ideal for unwinding after class. The property itself was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the self check-in process was a breeze. I also want to extend my appreciation to the hosts, Michelle and Shawn. They were extremely responsive, helpful, and a pleasure to work with. The cottage was the perfect size for a single person, and its location was incredibly convenient. I enjoyed a great cafe within easy walking distance and found it was a short, simple drive to grocery stores, restaurants, and other shopping. This property truly provided everything I needed for a perfect experience. I highly recommend it!
