Beach front living on beautiful St. George Island, mere steps from the ocean via your own private boardwalk: Breathe Easy, surrounded by over forty mature palm trees, is the family-friendly home that will make your vacation holiday special. One dog, up to forty pounds, considered (please contact to verify.) Upscale furnishings and flat-screen tvs with DVD players are found in the two separate living areas; over 3200 sf means lots of room for extended families. Upstairs, the large, open-house plan includes a living room with over-sized couches and a 55-inch HDTV; dining table for twelve; newly remodeled, well-equipped kitchen, with Viking 48" gas dual-fuel six-burner range with double oven, oversized refrigerator and farm sink; and a sun porch area with additional seating and eating areas. The expansive balcony provides outdoor easy living, whether watching the dolphins or the kids playing on the beach or in the Gulf. The three bedrooms upstairs have king-size pillow-top mattresses, with two having private bathroom access. The large downstairs living area has a morning kitchen with an additional full-size refrigerator. DVD, book, and game libraries are also available. Bedrooms downstairs include one with queen-size pillow-top mattress and the other, a children's bunk room, with two bunk-beds, and bath with large shower.
Breathe Easy's private pool with water-fall and extensive sunning area (pool heated during cooler months for $350 for week) with multiple chaise lounges is surrounded by dozens of palms and other tropical vegetation, creating a unique, exotic hotel-like atmosphere. Breathe Easy encourages Guests to grill by pool, with two large dining tables, each comfortable for six, and the large event-sized grill (gas provided), plus another park-style charcoal grill, also in the pool area. The downstairs patio provides additional oceanfront sitting, lounging and eating areas. The outdoor shower and fish cleaning area are optimally located near the house and beach. In fact, we love the Island so much we are now full-time SGI residents ourselves and available during your stay, if needed. If you are looking for a low-key, family-friendly piece of paradise, St. George Island is it.

Great island location, open floorplan
10 adults shared this lovely home just steps from the beach and loved the patio (beachfront) for sunrises. Open floor plan made life easy and two levels with two separate living areas made it so easy to store food and groceries. Two adults had to sleep downstairs in the bunk beds, which we knew weren't designed for adults, still they made the best of it. The other rooms were lovely and comfortable. The house has a great back patio with pool that we used a lot. Road bikes to town for fresh seafood, donuts, bait & tackle. We would stay again and are grateful to be able to rent from Owners who respond well and care for their visitors. Thank you for being flexible during the storm, your kindness was greatly appreciated.
Pam, we are glad you enjoyed your week at SGI. Wholeheartedly agree that the Island can meet your vacation holiday plans, whether that includes being active or just lazing the day away on the beach or poolside. We did want to clarify for future Guests, though, that our VRBO House Policy notes that only 8 adults are permitted (the number noted for your party in your original VRBO Inquiry), mainly because of the issue you noted: there is no appropriate bedding for adults once the four couples maximum is exceeded. Our Reservation Agreement has now been corrected to avoid any misunderstanding as to the maximum number of adults in future bookings.
Exactly what we were looking for!
The property, the house and the area on the island which we stayed was all perfect. Could not have asked for a better place to have a week with our family.
The best equipped house, the best location, the best amenities, and the best owners we have had in our years of vacation rentals. Loved the large gathering spaces in the living room, kitchen, and porch but also the large private areas to "get away" for a bit. The owners provided much more than the standard starter supplies plus a beautiful welcome package. Thank you!!

Very Close to the Beach!
We really enjoyed our week at Ben and Sharon's house. It is VERY close to the beach and easy to walk with small children - including toddlers. There are sand toys and beach chairs available at the house but they could use an update. However, they are fine for a weeks use. The porches were fabulous and we spent a lot of time on them. You could see dolphins every day! The kitchen is very well equipped with almost everything you would need for a week. The only recommendation we had for the kitchen is plastic bowls and plates for children (they had plastic cups available). The beds were comfortable and the house was clean. We did had a few issues while staying at the house and Ben and Sharon came over to remedy them almost immediately. The pool area is fantastic and has a lot of seating and a lot of shade for those who like it. It is also very private which is a big plus. The walk to get donuts is about a mile and the walk to the ice cream shop and light house are about 1.25 miles. Overall, it was a great house and we would probably stay here again.
April, we are so glad your family enjoyed your stay. The plastic dishes are located in the kitchen area downstairs for convenience to the pool, so apologies for not mentioning that in the check-in information; will add that in the future. We don't provide beach chairs since Franklin County initiated the No Trace laws, although previous Guests have left chairs behind and do we not discard them (just in case new Guests wish to use them.) We appreciate your taking time to post about your stay and hope that you and your family will return to Breathe Easy in the future. Thank you, again, for being such great Guests.
This house was perfect for our family to stay in. It's right on the beach and we loved sitting on the porch taking a nap and listening to the waves. It's amazing how well equipped the owners have the home for their vacation renters. From beach towels to laundry soap and even beach toys for anyone that has small children. I'd list everything they provide but it would take all day. Certainly makes it easier for the vacationers and packing. We do have one suggestion for the owners and that would be to get a management company to help with the communications and setting up with the renters. Leading up to our vacation week, I realized I was suppose to inform the owners of not only the names of the adults but of the children as well. When I sent her the notice of the children staying in the home. It seemed to stress the owners a bit and made me feel like we were being scrutinized with how we were going to do the sleeping arrangements etc. I felt bad and nervous because I really felt as though we were being prejudged on how we were going to take care of their beach home. Needless to say it made me a bit uneasy the whole trip. I did enjoy myself because we were with our family that we rent beach homes with every year and the home is wonderful.
Thank you for the compliments addressing Breathe Easy. Yes, we agree it is a beautiful home. However, as to our concerns in regard to the Guest's Travel Party, pertinent details were excluded. Our Rental Agreement, accepted by the Traveler months prior to the Reservation, states repeatedly an absolute house limit of twelve 'people.' The Traveler listed a party of eight adults for both the Reservation Request and the subsequent Rental Agreement. Six days before Check-In, the Guest informed us that she did not understand that ‘children’ needed to be included with the Reservation and had the following five individuals to add to the Rental Agreement: two 18 year-olds (one male and one female), one 17 year-old (male) and two 13 year-olds (females.) At the same time, the Guest stated one of the original adults would not be traveling with them, leaving three adult couples and one young adult male from the original party. The five additions and the single exclusion produced a new Travel Party of 12, our house limit. With the three adult couples accommodated with the three king-beds upstairs, the six various young adults/teens were left to the downstairs bedding of one queen-bed and two child-friendly bunks. Because we have no sleeper sofas, we do not feel that Guests would be comfortable sleeping on the couches and attempt to provide a home that accommodates all Guests with acceptable bedding, whether adult or child. Needless to say, the limited number of adult beds left us worrying how comfortable the downstairs bedding would be for the three young adults and three teens. Informing us a mere six days prior to Check-In that the Travel Party almost doubled in size, obviously created questions and concerns on our part. If the Guest had informed us of the Travel Party changes even a few weeks before their arrival, giving us ample time to modify the Rental Agreement and determine that all would be comfortably accommodated, perhaps our questions would not have been perceived as upsetting or intrusive. As far as using a Management Company, our suggestion would be the same for the Guest. As long as Vacation Home Owners have both a need to address the comfort of their Guests and their own issues of liability, the impersonal Management Company would probably be the best option for this Traveler.
This house is right on the water! It has plenty of seating areas throughout the house. Loved the side porch and back porch for reading. Great pool with a large grill and cabana!

State park located at east end of Island provides pristine natural habitat for shelling and enjoying nature. Marine nature-center also provides an insight into the aquatic life pertinent to the area. The quaint city of Apalachicola provides local shops and restaurants, with a true flavor of Old Florida.
