Welcome to our "Delightful Seaside Picnic," hosted by Rose and Fern and Sheboygan Vacation Rentals!

This newly renovated home offers a serene retreat just steps from Sheboygan’s stunning shoreline (and biggest and best beach in the area) where you can enjoy a sunrise stroll along the sandy beach or a refreshing dip in the lake.

Nestled in the charming Ellis Historic District, our home is also just a short walk from the vibrant riverfront and downtown area, where you can explore a delightful array of local restaurants, cafes, boutique shops, and entertainment. The road end also offers easy access to the lovely Sheboygan North Pier and lake walk.

Our spacious home has been thoughtfully designed for comfort and style, featuring a bright, open floor plan and a beautifully appointed kitchen equipped with modern appliances and ample counter space – perfect for cooking up a feast or hosting dinner with family and friends. Throughout the home, you’ll find unique handcrafted furniture (Beds are hand crafted by the owner, a renowned furniture designer and woodworker), ultra high-end MillerKnoll seating in the living room, and artwork created by local artisans, adding a touch of Sheboygan’s artistic spirit to your stay.

The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and brimming with historical charm. You'll love the tree-lined streets and classic architecture, making it an ideal place for leisurely walks. For those who enjoy an active lifestyle, Sheboygan is known for being incredibly walkable and bike-friendly (we provide the bikes), with scenic trails along the lake and river. During the summer months, hop on the local trolley for a nostalgic ride through town, or rent one of the many available scooters to explore at your own pace. Public bus transportation is also conveniently accessible for easy travel around the area.

Great Location, Great Accommodations

We enjoyed a couple's getaway with friends to celebrate a 50th birthday. The home appeared to be recently renovated from top to bottom with unique design elements that made the home feel very luxurious. It had everything we needed for us to enjoy our stay. Sheyboygan had the rest. Great food, Great parks and Great exploring.

We loved our visit! We knew we wanted to visit Wisconsin by Lake Michigan as part of our trip from Dallas, and I picked Sheboygan. It's a beautiful house and a charming town. You're steps from the lake with walking and biking trails and a beach! The house has everything and the host is great.

The pictures do not do the property justice. The open floor plan, the high ceilings, and the pastel accent walls all leave you with a sense of calm the moment you walk in. The attention to detail is amazing (they labeled the light switches!). The hosts were friendly and communicative, and fun to interact with. If the TV show character Frasier Crane had a lake house, it would be decorated just like this. Classy and modern and a bit whimsical. If you come to Sheboygan, this is THE place to stay. I know we will be back soon.

After living in NC for over 35 years, my husband was transferred, and we moved to Sheboygan WI. To our surprise, we discovered that Sheboygan is a wonderful little gem of a place... and nestled right on Lake Michigan AND the Sheboygan River! We love kayaking on both the Lake and the river as well as lots of the smaller inland lakes. We found Sheboygan to be a very easy place to live; the people are friendly, the restaurants, cafes and pubs are wonderful, and everything is within walking distance! We love exploring new places, being out in nature, and meeting new people. Unfortunately, my husband got transferred back to NC, so we now split our time between WI and NC.

Why they chose this property

Rose & Fern's Delightful Seaside Picnic is in the Ellis Historic District right in the heart of Sheboygan. You couldn't find a safer, more walkable, or convenient neighborhood right at the shores of Lake Michigan and the riverfront of the Sheboygan River. We are across the street from Deland Beach, the Marina & boat launch, and just a few blocks away from the riverfront boardwalk, and downtown with all of its wonderful restaurants, cafes, pubs, and shops.

What makes this property unique

Rose & Fern's Delightful Seaside Picnic is in the perfect location for access to the beach, the river, and downtown. You can take a picnic across the street to the park or beach, or enjoy the picnic table on the deck and grill out back. Bicycles (3) are available for guest use, and make an easy way to explore the Lake Path or just ride around town. Rose & Fern's interior is very contemporary with an open floor plan, modern appliances, amenities and finishes, art by local artists, some hand-crafted furniture, and top of the line mid-century modern furnishings. Although the house was built in the 1800s, it suffered a burst pipe during the winter of 2018-19 while its owners were out of town and was not lived in again until we bought it and completely gutted/renovated it in 2023. Our guests can enjoy all the new, modern conveniences while staying in an 1800s built home in the Historic Ellis neighborhood.
