Right on the beach, gorgeous views
Lovely view, yes. Easy beach access, yes. Sleeps 10, yes. Comfortably, NO! It's not even possible for the three of us to sleep comfortably. Horrible! This place is NOT worth the premium rate associated with this property. I can not imagine the cost of keeping up a home located on the beach, but this owner is way behind. Although my two children and I gathered around the outdoor table for games and meals, we had to be mindful of the rust and peeling paint on the metal table. I found myself worrying about when the last time we've had our tetanus shots. (Seriously) Although we certainly did not come to the beach to watch tv, it was next to impossible to figure out "the code" of which remote, which button, which cable plugs were unplugged by the last renters... It looked like a plate of spaghetti behind the tv console. None of the external speakers were hooked up. The volume on high was only audible if the air conditioner was not running. The good news is there are plenty of wine pulls! So far I found six! Oh! And everybody's plastic grocery bags since May (according to a receipt found in one) are stored in various locations throughout the kitchen! The bonus was when I was searching through cupboards hoping to locate a lid for the pan I was using, I discovered what looked to be a plastic grocery bag full of wet (?) mystery. My first thought was a couple full baby diapers, since that was the weight and feel. Through the plastic it sort of looked like a couple kitchen towels full of coffee grounds. That was also the cupboard my kids and I labeled "The fruit fly cupboard"! Speaking of kitchen towels, you will need to bring your own. Oh! And bring hand soap. Not a bar in the house. Oh! And bring your own TP. For these three bathrooms, only two small rolls of one-ply tissue supplied. I can see there is a new deck on the main level, but the upper deck off of my room where we all gathered for family time at sunset, we had to be extra cautious of the rusty nails which were backing their way out of the wooden planks. Again, a common occurrence, but at the beach we are used to being barefoot. I would not recommend it here. Not sure when the grass gets cut. We have had perfect weather here, and I can see other back yards are well maintained. Not sure what the schedule is for this property. The grass/weed combination is over a foot high now, and there is still a few days left of our week! Way overpriced for condition!
