Are You looking for a unique experience? If so, you have found it at the Linekin Bay Chapel. The Chapel was converted to a 2 bedroom home and has the original stained glass windows and bell tower. It boasts a large open living room with the original hardwood floors and a sun room.
Relax on the back deck with a drink and barbecue or go for a hike on the bordering Linekin Preserve which offers over 100 acres of hiking trails including scenic ocean frontage. Also for hiking, the Boothbay Region Land Trust (BRLT) offers over 30 miles of coastal and woodland trails which are open year round and are free to the public. A 5-10 minute walk takes you to bold open ocean frontage on King Phillips Trail where there are spectacular sunrises. Less than a 5 minute drive takes you to Ocean Point where you can watch a breathtaking sunset (don't forget your camera).
Downtown Boothbay Harbor is 4.5 miles away and offers numerous shops, galleries, restaurants and great night life. Ocean cruises are available here for lobster/clam bakes, as well as whale and seal watching excursions. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (the largest in New England) is less than 10 minutes from the chapel and offers over 250 acres of waterfront and woodland trails; it also includes sensory gardens, impressive waterfalls, stonework, and a great Cafe.
The Chapel has a large wrap-around deck with patio furniture and a gas grill. There is also a large sun porch which is a great place for morning coffee. It has a well stocked kitchen with some of the original wood cabinets. We have now added a dishwasher for your convenience. We also now have an air conditioner as well as a washer and dryer with recent renovations.
Feel free to use our complimentary bicycles to explore the area or rent a scooter in town. There is also a public boat ramp nearby. There is also a nearby lake so feel free to use our canoe and life jackets.
The Chapel, also known as 'the Pink and Purple Church', was built in 1911 and was a Methodist summer chapel. It was later converted to a private residence and an art gallery and is known for the whimsical color scheme.

We live in the Midcoast area; we purchased the Chapel/Gallery in 2011 and fell in love with the Boothbay region. Jason is a Culinary Arts graduate from Johnson & Wales University; Kristin is a Family Nurse Practitioner. We want our guests to have a memorable vacation and enjoy the area as much as we do! Please don't hesitate to call if you have any questions or if there are any special touches that we can arrange to make this an unforgettable getaway.

Unique accommodation in the heart of it all
What a fantastic and unique place to stay! Our family of four used the chapel as our home base while exploring the beautiful, rugged Maine coast. The attention to detail and the preservation of the chapels character is just fantastic - while being completely up to date with every modern convenience. Anything we could think of was there - everything and more for cooking/grilling meals, beach towels, coffee maker, games and books for rainy days (which we only had one), and the welcome fruit and cheese plate the owners left for us was just so lovely. The east Boothbay general store is 5 minutes away and makes great sandwiches to pack up and bring on your adventures, Boothbay itself is about 10 minutes drive and the rocky coastline at Ocean Point is a great start or finish to any day out and about. It's the perfect quiet spot to come back to at the end of each adventure and relax on the deck. The owners are beyond helpful in every way - 5 stars from this family!
The BEST of the Best!
This was our 2nd visit to the Chapel. Truly, we will always come back to this charmer....
The owners are by far, fantastic, to say the least! They go above and beyond to make your visit wonderful.
The Chapel itself is welcoming, comfortable, well equipped, and accessible to many attractions within driving distance. The place is a pure gem---- mixed with history, personality, and a unique enirnoment that can not be matched!
A Perfect Place to Stay
Our family had an amazing week at Linekin Chapel. The house was immaculate and so well-appointed that it felt more like staying at a friend’s house than a rental. Everything we needed was there, and as others have mentioned, it was really welcoming to arrive to a fruit and cheese plate and bottle of wine! We absolutely loved the house and the area. We picked wild blueberries for our breakfasts and we ate dinner outside on the deck most nights. Half-way through the week a doe and two spotted fawns came within a hundred feet of the deck while we were eating. The chapel is a special place to stay and the Boothbay area is wonderful.
We had a wonderful time last week in East Boothbay at Linekin Chapel. It was so clean and well appointed, and Jason and Kristin left us a beautiful cheese and fruit plate as well as freshly baked cookies. The stained glass windows in most rooms were beautiful. They had everything we'd need- even toiletries in the bathroom and staples in the kitchen. There were plenty of fresh towels and beach towels, and board games. The house was really unique and had lots of relaxing areas for reading, and plenty of space for our family of three. We enjoyed the things to do close by- we spent most evenings down at Ocean Point to watch the sunset. Boothbay Harbor has some great lobster and seafood places. We also did a whale watch with Cap'n Fish's and spotted lots of whales and seals. We really enjoyed several quick meals at East Boothbay General Store, just up the street. The chapel was in a great spot, very close to woods/trails and the water. We will definitely go back on our next visit to Maine and have already recommended Linekin Chapel to friends and family!
The chapel was very attractive, more unique when going inside to it.
The chapel was very special to us, discovered something new each day during our visit, and the inside was more than we had hoped for, just beautiful. The bells throughout the chapel were very special to us and the stained glass windows were also beautiful. Jason & Kristin really make you feel very welcomed, with a bottle of sparkling wine, cheese & fruit plate, and also crackers, which we never expected. They go above and beyond to make sure that you feel very welcomed and have everything that you need during your stay. They even had bikes to ride everyday, which we did and really enjoyed them. We would highly recommend the chapel, if looking for a quiet, lay back place to be, this is the place for you, you will enjoy every minute while staying at the chapel. Each and everyday while staying at the chapel we would say that the chapel was just so unique and beautiful. This was one of our best vacations that we have had. Like we said would highly recommend the chapel.
